Miss Asp in act 2:
I’ve been thinking iconisverse thoughts. Ms. Asp and the Squip are one and the same: created and molded and built for a purpose, to make the youth normal. They are not the system, they are perpetuators of it, and they genuinely don’t understand why their teens aren’t obeying. As their control slips, they decide their teens are beyond saving (Ms. Asp thinking the girls are just incapable of being helped and have powers to torture her, Squip deciding that just telling people what to do won’t work and he needs to make everyone get a squip) and they lose their carefully crafted persona of laid-back perfection. And then, in their final hour when everything has been ruined for them, they’re killed.
But at their cores, all they wanted to do was to fulfill the mission they were promised. Grant happiness and joy and stability. All they wanted was to help, but they were programmed to believe that help meant stripping away all that is good and unique.

the way Dorothy’s first instinct was to run to Ya-Ya & to stick by her the entire sequence because both versions of Harriet meant to world to Ya-Ya & Harriet’s death affected all of them & Harriet II was like an extension of Harriet herself so seeing her get torn apart was like watching Harriet d!3 all over again— 😭
