Okay, the song for this movie is "No Longer You" from Epic the Musical. (This was especially difficult because it's a very, very specific song)

Hmmm.

Okay.

It would be called "Song of Past Romance".

Rose (Amanda Tapping) and Max (David Duchovny) are a married couple, seem to have a normal life, with Rose working a nine-to-five job and Max writing music for a living.

Rose starts having strange dreams and slowly starts becoming terrified of them, insisting to Max that they're coming true. Max is skeptical and doesn't believe that Rose is really seeing the future. This causes their marriage to strain as he tries to get her professional help and Rose's dreams get worse.

One day, Rose disappears without a trace and the case quickly goes cold.

A year and a half later, Max is still trying to deal with her disappearance and probable death by trying to finish a song he was writing for her. Rose's sister, Ruby (Maggie Lawson), arrives saying that she got a phone call from Rose and she's in trouble.

The two take off to go and find and discover that Rose, suffering some memory loss and being highly effected by her visions, has been taken in by a what seems to be a cult led by Isaac (Michael Shanks), who have an apparent history of "taking in" people with powers like Rose's.

The two work to rescue Rose and bring her home, despite Rose's dire warnings and inability to properly remember Max or herself and Isaac's insistence that Rose wants to be with them.

Agam Darshi also stars as the detective that originally investigated Rose's disappearance.

4. Most anticipated book release of the second half of the year

The Beggar Prince by Kate Stradling. Even though she has a much harsher stance toward the fairy tale than I do, I love her fairy tale retellings, and the thought of getting another King Thrushbeard retelling from her--this one with a comedy spin!--sounds utterly delightful.

5. Biggest disappointment

I've read a bunch of wonderful books that disappointed me with the endings. Mary Barton by Elizabeth Gaskell was a wonderful--if weirdly structured--look into 1848 Manchester that fell flat on its face once the trial part of the story ended. A Trial of Words and Worth by Amity Thomsen was a very loose retelling of "The Twelve Huntsmen" that had a fantastic beginning, a wonderful romance and character arc, and excellent writing that reminded me of Shannon Hale's retellings, and then ended with an overly complicated magic system that made no sense. I can't classify the books as total disappointments; what made them disappointing was how much I loved the earlier parts and how the endings failed to live up to the promise.

10. A book that made you happy

As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of the Princess Bride by Cary Elwes was a fun, light, frothy collection of behind-the-scenes stories about the movie. Rather too slight and repetitive, but it gave me a chance to spend time thinking about a wonderful movie and regaining appreciation for the creative process.

Hi!! This is a really cool event! ^-^ I wasn't planning on doing anything until Comfortember but now I'm really tempted. Question: Will you be including any alternate prompts? Totally no pressure if you don't want to! I just know a lot of events like this have 3-5 "alternate" prompts in case any of the other prompts are squicky/triggering/etc. to people.

And that's actually a very good question 🤔 we weren't planning on doing that but it will definitely go on the list of how to improve next year's event. As for this year, how about this as the general rule:

If there is a prompt (or multiple) you really are uncomfortable with, feel free to either:

reuse another prompt;

write an independent but fluffy piece;

use that day's prompt from another event in case you're combining your fics anyway; simply leave out ours but again, please make sure it's still fluffy

Does that sound like a good compromise? If not, I'm sure the other mods and I can come up with a quick list of alternative prompts 😊

Going to go ahead and submit for next week's TAT, because I have no idea what'll be going on then, but overcoming brainwashing/mind control in order to save someone the whumpee loves is Always Good. Especially if resisting is physically painful-headaches, etc.-but they do it anyway.
