I'm back (kinda) but not really... family hell update! 😅📵

So I was originally gonna wait until I got my own phone to start posting again, but I honestly couldn't wait any longer! I'm not sure my mutuals can handle much more radio silence without seriously freaking out 💀 So here I am, back to posting from time to time on my grandma's borrowed phone!

To be clear - I'm back on Tumblr (kinda) but still can't get on Discord because for some reason the app store on my grandma's iPhone won't let me download any new apps. So Discord mutuals, I'm still stuck in that limbo but at least y'all can get some updates now!

Anyway, let me fill you in on what's been happening in family hell...

My biological dad actually isn't so bad! Other than that one incident where my grandma ended up tattling about my TV usage (which resulted in him lecturing me about screen time, online friends being fake, "studies show" this and that - the whole nine yards), he's been pretty decent. He actually treats me like the adult I am! He trusts me to take the bus to and from college on my own (gave me a special MetroCard to pay for rides), lets me borrow his laptop for assignments (I had one due yesterday at 11:59 PM and got it done in time!), and talks to me like an equal instead of a child. So that's... surprisingly good?

However, I'm pretty sure he took away the TV remote because I can't watch YouTube anymore, so all I have is grandma's phone for entertainment 🙃

My stepmom is still doing her whole "ignore my stepdaughter" policy. She only talks to me to complain that I forgot to clean something or to tell me the TV volume is "too loud." The other day I was trying to talk to my grandma and she got mad, saying I interrupted her. I tried to say "Why do you care? You don't like me anyway" but accidentally said "I don't like you" in Russian instead, and she immediately shot back "Well, I don't like you either!" When I tried to explain what I actually meant to say, she called me a "drama queen" and threatened to tattle to my dad if I say "one nasty word" about her again. Honestly, I'm starting to think she's like a yandere for her husband with how possessive and hostile she is toward me. My mom thinks she doesn't like her either just because mom is dad's ex-wife 🙄

And then there's the absolute worst member of this family - my grandma, who has somehow gotten even MORE insufferable! She constantly complains about me using "too much technology" (she's literally complaining right now as I write this post). We end up fighting about something every single day because she can't stop nagging. She always plays the victim whenever I get upset about her behavior and even accuses ME of being manipulative when she's the one gaslighting! Just today she gave me some sob story about how when my parents were still together and I was little, even when my mom would yell at her, she "never yelled back" and would just go outside and cry. Like... okay grandma, did I ask for your tragic backstory? 💀

During our recent arguments I've ended up crying twice - once a while ago and once today - because she just won't stop with the constant criticism and guilt trips!

Oh, and she's not exactly tech-savvy either. She tried to click on an obvious virus ad about her "corrupted PDFs" that she needed to "fix immediately." Another time she thought all her gallery photos were automatically visible to her WhatsApp contacts (that's... not how any of this works). And she genuinely believed you get charged money by the bank just for visiting websites, when really you just pay for internet access and most websites are free. The lack of basic tech knowledge is concerning 😅

The good news: Once I finally get my own phone, I won't need to borrow grandma's anymore! She can have her device back and live in peace without me "corrupting" it with my evil social media usage. I'm planning to be strategic about when and where I use my phone so certain family members don't feel the need to monitor or lecture me about it. Out of sight, out of mind, you know?

Anyway, that's the family hell update! Thanks for being patient with my sporadic posting schedule. Hopefully I'll have my own device soon and can get back to regular posting AND finally hop back on Discord!

As I'm finishing this post, I need to head to sleep because I have some busy stuff to do tomorrow. Hopefully if my grandma still lets me use her phone tomorrow, I'll be able to respond to any replies to this post!

I know I haven’t been super active for a while. My job absolutely consumes my life and I rarely have downtime for this app or anything really.

I have, however, managed to stay up-to-date on EVERY Duncney week post this week. In a perfect world, I’d be contributing with y’all.
