NOBODY HERE IS TALKING ABOUT CANON PRE INQUISITOR MARSH ART?!?!
Death in the Year 500
Cyberpunk Marsh. To be more incognito, I thought he'd wear a thick sweater and pair of aviators to hide spikes, plus grow out his hair to hide the tattoos (and spikes from the rear). Not seen easily because of the colors, but he's graying as he coasts along in his 50s because I think silver fox Marsh is what everyone deserves.
Tangent: ever since I saw Ben McSweeney's official portrait I can't not see Marsh as fucking yoked.
sometimes your favourite guy in the books is a dude you and your friends refer to as 'kebab face' who was forced to commit highest treason by god, is one of the best examples of foreshadowing you've ever read about, and he deserves a little pat on the head for his 300 year redemption effort

But where does Ironeyes sleep?
According to Marsh, Steel Inquisitors need to sleep most of the time because of the sheer strain Hemalurgy has on their souls. Even though he can Compound Bronze (wakefulness), he still needs to sleep sometimes. But given that Old Ironeyes is known as Death Himself, where can he sleep?
The easiest answer is that the Kandra own property and he can always crash with them. But speculation is fun.
Given that there’s a whole religion that reveres him, I think that every temple dedicated to Sliverism is obligated to house him if he arrives. Every temple keeps a room with a bed, a pitcher of water, and a plate or bowl of food, and if Ironeyes doesn’t visit (which is most of the time), the food is donated to the first beggar who comes to the door before it can go bad.
Eventually, too many softhearted acolytes despair at only being able to feed one person a day, and organize this into a soup kitchen. They make a big batch of soup or whatever every day, put the first portion in Ironeyes’s room, and the rest goes to the poor. At the start of the next day, Ironeyes’s uneaten food becomes breakfast for whoever cleans the room. I get the feeling that Sliverism will appreciate the invention of the fridge and the microwave (or maybe just a box that reheats things) a little more than other religions.
However, they don’t house people in Ironeyes’s room. Sliverist temples are supposed to reserve the room for him; the soup kitchen works because they’re still giving him food, but they don’t want to have to kick people out in case Ironeyes shows up. It turns out fine anyways because nobody wants to sleep in Death’s room.
That said, I think it would also be funny if he just... went to inns and asked for rooms. And people are too intimidated to refuse. I’ve also seen a theory that he can walk around unnoticed because he’s storing Connection, so maybe he lets innkeepers perceive him just enough to get a room, but they can’t remember who it was or what they looked like. But there’s a record of a dude named Marsh in that room and he clearly paid, so whatever.
And now, spoilers for the dude who links Mistborn and Stomlight, the one who’s super spoilery. You know the one.
It’s October, which means Cosmere Inktober is officially here! I’ll be combining prompts for 3 days at a time, because I don’t think I could survive making one drawing a day 😅
The first three prompts were: Puppet/Weapon/Glass
Marsh to vin at the end of book 1:
So I’m on chapter 2 of hero of ages. Here are my predictions.
-Sazed is the hero of ages (in not Sazed then Elend)
-Ham lives
-Marsh goes to kill someone from the crew under ruins control (at least I think it’s ruin controlling him) but breaks out of it just long enough to let them kill him.
-Ellend dies, quickly followed by Vin (let’s be honest of one dies they both do)
-Kell is the mist spirit
-I’m going to cry at least twice during this book
-Breeze will snap out of his... whatever it is he was in when WoA ended to help when something big goes down
-we get to meet Hams family (that’s more of a hope but ya know)
-Spook runs off to do something dangerous to make up for not telling Ellend and Vin the truth
