I figured out i was kin when i was 17. or at least, figured out fictionkin? I was always a catkin, i even once ate cat food while imitating our family cat! But I didn't figure out Fictionkin until I made some fictionkin friends, who told me what that was about. And though for a while my nickname meant two sollux timelines (i used to call myself Duolux), my first kin was Mituna! A roller-skating, music-loving DJ mituna.
