Ok, so I was randomly thinking of a Miraculous Ladybug class salt au with certain characters not with Lie-la. Well, those characters were Nathaniel, Chloe, Nino, Juleka, Luka, Kagami, and possibly Adrian. They all have their respective Kwami and Miraculous, Nathaniel being the Fox. However, I added my own Self Insert Character. She has no name yet, possibly a variation of mine, and she is either a Paris born Japanese, half French half Japanese, or Japanese come to France, haven't decided. Well, I was going to have her be with Luka because he's my favorite and ILOVEHIM- *ehem* moving on. I also gave her the Miraculous of the Rabbit, probably going to name her Usagi. And she was going to be born in 2001, year of the Snake, same as me. Because she's based on me. Well, that got me thinking. What year was Luka born in, if the show even does that? I laughed at myself when I looked it up...
YEAR OF THE RABBIT!!!!
I couldn't believe the coincidence of that happening, like, seriously.....
Just the usual penpal program between the french and americans schools, where the students get a randomly assigned a student and Damian has the misfortune of getting Lila.
Their first conversation is basically Lila being:
Lila: Hi. I'm Lila Rossi. I'm friends with the Batman and his sidekicks (can you hear Damian boiling in anger, or is it just me?) and practically a family to the Wayne's. Oh! And I'm dating Damian Wayne.
Damian: No, you're not. If anything, you're pathetic and a liar.
Lila: And how would YOU know?
Damian: bitch I'm Damian Wayne.
[Message read]
The second is pretty much Lila trying to get onto his good side (aka she wants his money). After her long ass rant about how she's sorry but her disease, Damian either sends her a gif of ticking clock or a middle finger emoji. There's no in between.
[Also, what if Marinette is Jon's penpal?
Damian, done with reading yet another rant about how she's so "sorry": I hate my penpal.
Jon, happily texting Marinette: Dude, I LOVE my penpal.]
Then the akuma class goes to Gotham because i say so and they're spending time with their penpals in Gotham Academy.
There Marinette and Damian meet.
Marinette: Hi, I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng. I'm a class representative and own the other brain cell in this class by myself.
Damian: [I like you] Good to know.
I kinda want GA students to, like, introduce their penpals to the rest.
Everyone's already done with theirs and then Damian goes to the front.
Damian: My penpal was Lila Rossi. She is nothing but a pathetic liar who first lied about knowing my family and dating me and when I informed her of my identity she tried to get onto my good side, which I find outrageous and think she should feel ashamed of herself-
You get the drill.
The reactions are divided:
Class, offended and still dumb: How dare u. Lila is an angel. Lila is amazing. Lila is-
Marinett, with tears of joy in her eyes: You're my new best friend.
Damian's class, bored: Ah, same shit again.
Then Damian jus decides that instead of accompanying Lila around school he's going to stick with Marinette. (There Mari either ditches her penpal or they're scared of Ice Prince of Gotham and ditch her. Unless it's Jon. Then Jon stays with them, completely overjoyed that Damian is making friend(s) willingly.)
Maybe at the end of the french class's stay Damian just straight up uncovers all her lies just because he wants to or just somewhere in the middle of their stay. Dami's petty and if he can, then he will. Watch him, Lila.
You don't mess with the blood son of the Bruce Wayne.
Hello!! This is a little story based on this post by @charming-mage ! I’m bad at introductions lol but the summary of the story is, “There’s an akuma that if you get hit, your personality is turned into the opposite. (ex. nice to mean, cheerful to moody, optimist to pessimist, energetic to lazy, you get the idea.) Marinette and Lila are two of the victims. Marinette is Chloe 2.0, and Lila is actually genuine, and nice. Disclaimer, I’m making this up as I go cause i don’t know what to call the akuma. As to explain his looks and power. He looks relatively normal, but his outfit is like the Shadow Man’s from Princess And The Frog. His powers, He can make people do the opposite of what they usually do, or be the opposite of themselves. He affects everyone in an 100 ft. radius. He can choose either to alter your personality, or your actions. He has three moves basically. This is all story related, I promise. But if your writing this prompt as well, please, add whatever you want, this is just my take :) @charming-mage I hope you’re okay with salt fics, cause that’s the only way i saw this would work lol. Thanks again for letting me write this!
P.S. Marinette is gonna be SUPER fucking mean here. But, Chloe is really mean, so if Marinette turned to Chloe 2.0, then she’s gonna be super mean.
Okay, on to the story!

Original Post / First / Next
Marinette was not having a good day. She, sadly, slept in, and ended up getting scolded by Mlle. Bustier in front of the entire class. It was so humiliating! Kim and Alex had the guts to laugh at her, too. Lila was smiling smugly watching her, and, of course, no one saw it. Thankfully, Chloe didn’t make a comment on it. She didn’t need to be humiliated and pissed.
Marinette went to the bathroom after attendance, and what a surprise Lila followed after her. “Yes, Lila?” Marinette sighed, looking absolutely done with everything. “What a funny display you made this morning, Marinette,” Lila started, smiling and checking her nails. “Honestly, you almost made me laugh.”
With a roll of her eyes, Marinette turned off the faucet, dried her hands, and turned to Lila. “I will make this clear as possible without being rude.” She pointed at Lila. “I am having a bad morning, and my patience is thin. So, please, please, just shut up and leave me alone. For one day, that’s all I’m asking.” Marinette rubbed her temples, choosing to glare at Lila. The other girl scoffed, returning her glare. “Fine, I’ll just inadvertently torment you by deciding to hang around Adrien all day. You know you can’t do anything then,” Lila’s glare turned into a smug smile. “Everyone will just assume you’re being jealous again.”
Marinette scowled, and shoved past Lila out of the bathroom. Unfortunately, right outside the school, Stood Opposite Man, who decided to alter personalities. Marinette raced to the front of the school hearing the screams, not thinking to transform immediately. When she got there, however, there was no one there. Just a puff of purple smoke, and everyone was just continuing on their day as normal.
But there was one catch, Marinette felt... different. That never ending itch to be selfless, and nice-- and essentially a pushover, but she’d never say that --was all gone! It felt, light, in a way. Shrugging her shoulders, she walked back to class, not thinking much of it.
──────ೋღ ღೋ──────
There was chatter in the classroom. Loud chatter, from what Marinette heard outside the classroom door. She could only catch the words, “akuma”, “dissapeared”, “Opposites”, and, “shadows.” before it all went quieted down. Marinette walked into the classroom after brushing her skirt down, and readjusting the collar on her baby pink blouse. (yes, her outfit is different. I refuse to believe a fashion designer only wears one outfit, and a horrid one at that.) She heard Alya call out to her. “Mari! Did you hear about the akuma at the front of the school, girl?”
For some reason, Marinette felt annoyed. She rolled her eyes, and was about to answer Alya in a sneer before Rose butted in. “None of us saw it except Lila, but everyone else in the hallways was saying he just appeared, threw some sort of card in the air after shouting something, then vanished in a puff of smoke!” Marinette got even more annoyed, why did she cut her off? She couldn’t even answer, cause everyone burst into chatters again. Marinette cleared her throat, and when mostly everyone was finally paying attention, she spoke in a slight sneer. “I’d actually be able to give my input if you annoying sheep would finally shut up. My ears are gonna bleed if I keep hearing you talk!”
Everyone was shocked at what came out of her mouth, and some even physically recoiled as if they were slapped. “Marinette! Don’t be rude!” Mlle. Bustier was quick to scold Marinette for her insult. “Don’t be rude-- Do you hear yourself?” Marinette mocked Mlle. Bustier in a high pitched voice. She scoffed and walked up to her seat in the back of the classroom. Rose spoke up, in a slightly hesitant voice, and stated, “Guys, I think Marinette got hit by the akuma! Remember, Aurore told us that the Opposite Man, the akuma, said that he reversed peoples personalities!”
“You’re right, Rose! Marinette did go to the bathroom!” Mylene added. Marinette was gonna add that Lila went to the bathroom as well, before Nino cut in and said it for her. “Wait, but Lila went to the bathroom the same time Marinette did.” That got a few people whispering among themselves. Lila wasn’t in the classroom at the moment, for a reason Marinette didn’t care to know, and didn’t bother to listen to.
“Well, Lila’s acting the same as far as we remember. I just talked to her before she left. She was smiling and happy.” Alya crossed her arms, from where she was standing at the front of the room. “Oh my god!” Marinette groaned and rolled her eyes, grabbing everyone’s attention. She slammed her hands on her desk and stood up, clearly pissed. “Little Miss Lie-la got hit just the same as me. She’s nice, and genuine, and happy, cause she’s not lying to you all! She’s not faking her stupid fucking mask that got all of you to believe those idiotic stories.” Marinette sneered, glaring at Alya, who was clearly getting angry.
“Come on, Mari, are you really gonna do this again? Can’t you stop accusing her of lying?” Alya sighed, and threw her hands up in frustration. Marinette, however, was getting more pissed off by the second. “Honestly, We know you’re jealous of her but--” Alya was cut off by Marinette laughing. “Are you fucking serious?! Me? Jealous of Lila?” Marinette’s laughing was dry, and turned into a furious scowl directed at Alya. “Her hair looks like sausages, her fashion choices are horrendous, she’s one of Gabriel’s models, and she’s a liar! What, Alya, do i have to be jealous of?!” Marinette crossed her arms, and tapped her foot impatiently. They had to admit, she made some good points. Until Adrien spoke up. “What’s so bad about being my dad’s model?”
Everyone looked at Marinette, who deadpanned. Everyone waited with bated breath, and the silence stretched.
Ugh, They were so annoying. "Your dad's 'fashion'," Marinette air quoted, " looks like a toddler took a roll of shiny toilet paper, cut it into something you can attempt to put your arms through, and then shat all over it and called it fashion.” Everyone gasped and went into an uproar. "Marinette that's seriously messed up!" Nino cried, laying a hand on his buddies shoulder. The boy in question had visibly reeled from the outburst, and Adrien actually looked hurt. Unfortunately, Marinette's lack of a reaction aside from a huff showed she didn't care. "If you didn't want the truth, you should've shut your privileged mouth." Marinette shrugged, checking her nails.
Alya, apparently, still hadn’t let go of the previous topic. “Well, there is one reason you would still be jealous of her! Everyone knows how Lila hangs around Adrien a lot, and we know you don’t like that!” Alya exclaimed, clearly trying to just subtly mention Marinette’s crush without Adrien catching on. Marinette was almost grateful. Almost. She smirked.
“Oh please, me? Jealous over that?” Marinette sighed, her smirk fading into a bored stare.” You know,” Marinette walked to the middle of the aisle, her arms still crossed. “If you payed attention to me for the past month, or even bothered to talk to me,” Some people flinched at her harsh words, full well knowing everyone ignored her in favor of Lila. “ You’d notice I couldn’t give less of a shit about what Lila does, and I don’t care who hangs around Adrien. He’s a spineless coward, and quite frankly, not my type.” Marinette finished her speech by turning back around, and sitting right back down in her seat. She glared at everyone who stared in shock longer than 5 seconds.
“Oh please, you’re just saying that cause you don’t wanna admit we’re right, and you are jealous of Lila!” Alya really was reaching for straws, here, wasn’t she? Marinette facepalmed, and sneered at Alya. “What do you know, you tabloid reporter?! You can’t even fact check simple fucking fables that come out of Lila’s mouth! So, don’t even try to assume you know who I like!” Marinette ranted, clenching her fists. She was standing up again, clearly furious.
“Did you just call me a tabloid reporter?!” Alya screeched. Chloe, being the mean girl that she is, burst out laughing at Alya. “Never did i think that Dupain-Cheng would actually call you out!”
Ignoring Chloe, everyone murmured among themselves. “Someone really needs to defeat that akuma, Marinette is hurting Alya’s feelings!” Rose cried, clasping her hands together. “Shut it, pixie pop. You’re making my ears bleed.” Marinette snapped, putting her hands on her hips. Rose wilted, leaning into Juleka for comfort. “Yes, Alya, I called you a tabloid reporter because of the lies and rumours you post on your blog. Wanna know why your views went down? It’s because of the interviews you posted with Lila.” Marinette picked at her nails,
“No person with brain cells would fall for that bullshit. Honestly, you’re lucky I have at least one kind bone in my body, or else Jagged Stone, and every other celebrity Lie-la claimed to know, would have received an email by now about the slander and defamation of character in those interviews.” Marinette scoffed, walking down the aisle.
Before anyone could react properly, the bell rang for lunch, and she was out the door, right before a cackling Chloe and giggling Sabrina.
“We need to find that akuma, now. Forget Ladybug and Chat Noir.” Alya finally spoke, her voice cracking and seemly on the verge of tears.

Okay, That’s it for the first chapter! I had to make this into multiple parts cause there’s still the whole Ladybug and Chat Noir scene I wanna do lol. Feel Free to leave feedback! And i hope i did this prompt justice so far! And before anyone comments “Marinette was way too mean!” or “this is ooc!” or “where’s Lila?”
1.) Yes, she’s really mean. In this, her personality is completely reversed. Her meanness is matching her kindness, therefore she’s super mean, as the prompt stated, “Chloe 2.0″.
2.) I will agree, it is out of character cause not only is it salt, it’s also an au where Marinette’s personality is different. So she doesn’t act the same as she does in canon :)
3.) I’m going to be doing scenes with Lila in the next part. If anyone has any suggestions on how to write Lila in, or what she should say, do, etc, please let me know! :))
Taglist under the cut! :) and it is open by the way, send me an ask, and I’ll add you!
I want to give credit to @stareyedmoonchild for their idea. I’ll try to make another part at least once a week but life is crazy so don’t force anything.

Chapter 1:
Soulmates are a complex thing, it is where your other half lies. It’s another person or persons that make you feel complete, as if you're whole again or you were like one. Some are platonic, familial, but most of these days they were considered romantic. However fate intervenes, not all soulmates meet, sometimes they’re not even together at all. Fate always has a plan, even for the impossible.
Meet ‘the impossible’ #1, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Her soulmate mark appeared on her birthday, July 9th at age 16. However before delving into her soulmark you must know her history.
Marinette was the daughter of bakers, Sabrine Cheng, and Tom Dupain. She had a relatively normal life until she was 13, and on her first day of Collège Françoise Dupont in Paris. She was given the responsibility of handling the Ladybug miraculous. She began as a heroine with her partner in crime, Chat noir. Her life had her ups and downs, but she always made it through the day. (This follows the storyline in the show, you’ll see why.)
They sat sound her room counting down the time to midnight. Kim had set up a camera recording while bouncing a bit on the ground. They sat on the ground cross cross all in front of Marinette.
“Marinette, show the camera your wrists!” Alix said. Marinette smiled and showed the camera her blank wrists. “Once the words pop up we’re gonna fight them!”
“Please don’t.” Marinette groaned.
“You should know this by now Marinette. We are gonna fight for you.” Kim said. Nathaniel nodded along with Kim.
“It's true princess.” Adrien said.
The countdown to midnight began. They showed the camera her wrist just as a blinding white light shone from her wrists. It was a slight burning sensation but at the same time, ticklish. Once the words formed a saddening look Apparated on their faces. Marinette confused, looked in her wrists and frowned.
‘I’m sorry.’
‘I’m sorry.’ Was seared into her wrists. Marinette help stange, almost as if she was going to cry and tell them it’s okay. She did however wonder what could they be sorry for? She shook her head lightly and motioned to cut the cameras.
Once the cameras were cut she put her wrist down. She didn’t want to see them right now, it just caused her sadness. Nathaniel moved over and rubbed her back as she stared numbly in the ground. Kim sent the video to Marinette’s parents before putting it away.
They all silently agreed to not mention her mark unless needed. Life continued on as usual after that day, akuma still happened, Ladybug and chat came to save the day, school came and went.
-2 years later-
For years Marinette’s eyes would light up at someone who said those words, they were never the ones however. The words were repeated over and over again to no avail. It bothered her, she wanted to meet her other half, the person who made her feel whole.
She remembered when she went to school the next day people kept asking. She showed them the mark then changed the subject. She didn’t want to talk about it, so soon they all shut up about it.
However when Lila Rossi came back things changed. Lila was true to her threat, she striped most of her classmates' trust away leaving her almost friendless. She felt so alone however her closet friends had stayed.
Lila lied about lots of things, however the most harmful thing she lied about was her soulmate. She said that it was all an act for pity and she didn’t really have one. Marinette couldn’t find her soulmate because she doesn’t have one. She went as far as to say the phrase was written in pen and ink since she couldn’t get a tattoo.
Her four friends stuck by her even when the others turned their back onto her. There are times when they would come and confront her and try to get rid of the words. Alya came the most with Nino by her side. Kim was the one who would pick Marinette up and walk away with her so they couldn’t harass her while Adrien and Alix yelled.
She felt stuck in a new cycle. She wakes up, defeats Akuma if one appears, goes to school, finishes commissions, etc. She couldn’t complain though she felt happy with Nathaniel, Alix, Adrien and Kim by her side.
-Today-
School was out for the day and Marinette woke up feeling energized which was unusually for her. She got out of bed and stretched, cracking her back.
“Morning Tikki.”
“Morning Marinette!”
Tikki’s enthusiasm always made her days a bit better, even if it’s only a smudge. She got out of bed and went to the shower to wash herself up. She had a dream last light about a boy with hair as dark as night and green eyes that looked like emeralds or jades. In the dream the boy looked around 12 and he looked severely hurt, and had tears in his eyes. He kept saying “I'm sorry.” right before she woke up.
After her shower she came out and put her hair into a single ponytail instead of her usual pigtails. She changed into a black t-shirt with dark shade of gray showing a light outline of the Batman logo. She paired it with a yellow skirt and black converse with yellow laces. She inspired the outfit after Batman obviously, she started to develop a love for comic books when she was friends with Alya. She still did after their friendship.
She headed down stairs to grab a chocolate croissant and some coffee, she didn’t bother her parents since a big order was due that day. She walked out the door with tikki in her new hand bag she made. It was a black bag similar to her old one with ladybugs near the top. After she left the bakery she walked around the city enjoying the sight and writing down ideas for clothes and taking pictures.
After about an hour of walking she stumbled upon a store she hasn’t been into in a while, . She stared into the sign for a little bit before opening the door. Once inside she was hit with nostalgia once she stepped in the bookshelves that were packed filled with comic books. She remembered the last time she and Alya were in here together.
-Mini flashback-
Alya had dragged her to the shop talking non stop about the new Superman comic. Marinette was trying to understand Alya’s rapid sputtering as she explained the plot.
“So then Clark Kent is back in Kansas with his mom as they talk about what’s going on in metropolis, and all of a sudden-“ Alya said.
Marinette was happy her friend was enjoying herself but, she didn’t know why she picked Superman of all people. Marinette had some big costume changes to make for the blue Boy Scout. His cape was a drawback, it could easily be used against him in the heat of battle. He also had a horrible collar scheme and his red underwear phase was horrid.
Marinette container letting Alya talk though she didn’t understand a word what she was saying. For most of that day they stayed there together browsing the shop. Marinette looked around the shop before seeing a comic book that caught her eye. The cover art was much darker compared to Alya’s Superman comics. They read the title ‘Batman Vol. 1.’ Before picking up more of the same series. She sat next to her friend before reading the series she would soon love.
-Present day-
“Marinette!”
That voice snapped her out of her flashback into the cold reality. She saw an older boy with curly back hair, dark skin and dark gray eyes. She smiled as she recognized the boy, Ronnie, the owner’s son. He smiled brightly at her before wobbling a bit.
Marinette laughed and helped him with the comics he was carrying. Ronnie poured at her but she ignored it and helped put them away with him.
“How are you so strong?” Ronnie said. “You so tiny.”
“I work at out from time to time,”
“Well, sign me up for your fitness regiment.”
“Ha. Ha. Now help me but say these books.”
"You know, you're supposed to be relaxing and reading here, not working. Dad's been getting reviews about you and how you've helped customers out while you're here. Little lady, they think you work here," the boy said, only stretching when he had to stretch to put one of the comics onto one of the higher shelves, "You won't believe the reactions of some of the customers when they find out that you're just a valued regular."
"Well, it's the least I can do, especially when all I do is read and never really buy anything. Think of this as my way of showing my appreciation for not kicking me out," she said, as she finished putting the last of her stack away.
"How about instead you just bring us that sweet smile of yours and a caramel pecan pie. Dad and I loved it," she said as she leaned against the self, before his expression turned serious.
"Anyways, have they done anything lately to bother you? Dad and I have been worried ever since you were almost expelled."
"Nothing lately as the boys and Alix have been by my side most of the time or intervening before anything can escalate," she said with a sigh.
"I still can't believe the school nor your parents haven't noticed it or that you haven't reported any of the harassment that's been going on. Do you need Dad and me to step in? We can. We have some contacts that owe us some favors to get evidence, if that's the problem," Ronnie said, as his stormy eyes seemed to turn a shade darker.
"No. I just want to graduate and close this chapter of my life without dealing with the courts or the board of education. Who knows how Lila will twist things around with just a few crocodile tears," she responded tiredly.
"Fine, but if you need anything just let me or Dad know. Anyways, I know what might get your mind off of things! I kept a surprise behind the counter just for you! However, you just need to give me your monthly soulmate update, and how you've been feeling as we promised," he said as he went behind the counter, and pulled out the latest Batman issue.
He didn't miss the twinkle of excitement dance in her eyes as she held up the comic. Apparently, in this issue Robin would be revealing his soulmate's phrase, and everyone was anxious to know what it said.
With a chuckle she made her way to the counter and said, "Still no luck with the soulmate department. Honestly, it feels it's like they're a fictional character within this reality. A person who will never know I exist or ever get to meet. In a way you could say we're forever starcrossed."
There was a look in Ronnie’s eyes that Marinette couldn't describe. He gave a small nod and a bittersweet smile before talking.
"Sorry you feel that way, and I can relate. As you know mine says 'goodbye.' It's honestly got me stressed out, because of the endless scenarios that can lead up to that phrase. Anyways, here's your comic and you can keep that one. It's on me today and before you say anything; I consider it a gift as I get the feeling you might want to keep this one."
Smiling, Marinette thanked Ronnie and sat in a sunny corner that she claimed as her spot. She sat there the most while, taking her time appreciating the art work and enjoying the story before the big reveal. With each page that she turned, her anticipation grew and then her eyes landed on the last panel of the page, and in a speech bubble that said, "I'm sorry."
'No, it's just a coincidence,' she thought. There waa no possible way that her soulmate was literally a fictional character. That would just be too cruel.
With a shake of her head, Marinette turned the page. With wide bluebell eyes, she allowed the comic to slip from grasp and land onto her lap. Life had just given the cruelest fate to Marinette Dupain-Cheng', and there was nothing she could do to change it.
The last picture was of Damian on the edge of a building and his sleeves pulled down to show his words. A small panel showed the cruel words scarred onto his skin.
"Honestly, it feels it's like they're a fictional character within this reality. A person who will never know I exist or ever get to meet. In way you could say we're forever starcrossed."
Marinette's heart broke and she stared up to look at Ronnie with a teary glaze. He gave a slow nod, now she knew why he insisted she keep it, she can be closer to her soulmate. Marinette with a sad look left the shop before putting it into her bag, as she was walking home an akuma came, just the thing to get it off her mind.
...and the perfect spot for a kids cartoon somewhere else.
@ab-unreachablevoice @startouchedqueen1318 @lovemidnighteclipse12 you asked, I deliver.
Now, I want all of you to know this AU was made in a spur of moment. I’m totally winging it rn.
So obviously before the akuma class goes to Gotham, the months of texting have to have passed.
For Damian, those months are hell, because not only does he have to hear Jon’s gushing about his awesome penpal, but he has to endure Lila’s lies and her stories that keep only getting more ridiculous as the time passes too.
And it better be fucking worth it, because you have no idea how close he’s to flying to Paris and finally putting his assassin’s skills into use.
I mean, look at this!
Lila: HI Damian!!!! ❤💖💕💋💞
Damian, cringing at his phone: Yes?
Lila: How r u????
Damian, who absolutely hates when someone types like that: Have been better
Lila: Would u like to maybe video chat???? I could tell u about my trip to Achu !!!!!
Damian, a little shit™: Did “u” know that using more than three (3) exclamation (!) and question (?) marks means “u” may have a personality disorder? Maybe that’d explain the amount of lies “u” like to spew so much.
(Oof-)
[Message read. This user is offline.]
I’m convinced that if Damian knew how to use gifs, he would 100% use a lot, and I mean a lot, of cat gifs (honestly, animal gifs in general).
Lila: Hi Dami!!!! (She doesn’t learn, okay.)
Damian: I hope you can understand the message.
She can.
Lila: Hi dami. Can I call u Dami???
Damian: No.
Lila: I had so much fun this weekend Dami!!!! I went to Brazil Turns out Chris Pratt is filming a new movie there. Anyway, he recognized me and we started talking. His so much fun!!!!!! 🥰🤩😍😍🎉🎉
Damian: Fascinating. Please do not tell me more.
Damian: And it’s “he’s”, not “his”.
Heh.
Lila: Hiii Damiii
Damian: I literally hate you so much-
[Message not sent]
Lila: Dami????
Lila: ....
Lila: Um, Damian? U there????
[Message not read]
You have no idea how, much fun making these is-
Oh, and imagine, just imagine, if Lila told him about situation in Paris.
Lila: Sorry for texting you so late, damiboo. Got caught up in an akuma attack.
Damian, who by now is replying just to humor her (plus his father forced him): A what?
And then Lila starts explaining the situation in Paris. Of course, she adds a few stories about how she was akumas’ target or how she helped Chat Noir (weirdly she doesn’t talk much about Ladybug). It’s that one of really rare times she’s not lying (well, not that much). And how Damian reacts to it?
Damian, Done with Lies™: Do you ever stop lying? Because this, all of this, is absolutely and utterly ridiculous.
Cue Lila wishing she didn’t bullshit as much as she did Damian was just a little more gullible
Anyway.
I don’t know if you remember, but in the first part I said Damian ditched Lila for Marinette (but let’s be honest, wouldn’t we all?).
To clear things up, I kinda wanted the GA students to accompany their penpals throughout their time at school. It’d be nice, right?
So the scene is:
The principal has just announced that GA students have to keep company their penpals while they’re at the GA establishment. Lila’s feeling victorious, this is her chance to get her claws in Damian and his money- I mean, to get to know her lovely penpal. Yeah...
Lila, walking up to Damian, while trying to appear sexy and shy at the same time, and failing at both: So, shall we?
Damian, ostentatiously glancing at her before going to Marinette: Bye
Now, to spice things up, I decided imma get them caught up in a rouge attack/attacked by a rouge.
So somewhere a week in their stay, akuma class is held hostage by one of the Gotham’s criminals.
Because this is Gotham, y’all. You can’t be in Gotham and NOT get attacked some way or another. It’s impossible.
[Choose your villain. I have badass Marinette though, so we all know the winner here]
The moment it starts, Damian slips away and changes into Robin.
Meanwhile:
The class is screaming and panicking.
Lila is probably in the middle of a panic attack.
Marinette’s assessing the situation before striking.
The moment Robin arrives, he gets to witness Marinette, the sweet cinnamon roll Marinette, kicking ass and taking names. Adorable. He thinks he’s in love (and he so is).
Bats come. And they’re met with the dude dealt with and trembling in fear of a petite girl with pigtails, who’s standing next to him and a lovestruck Robin staring at said girl.
A sight to behold, truly.
Also, what if Damian accidentally texts Lila instead of Marinette after the attack? And Lila is so happy, because she thinks her plan’s finally working. But ohoho, does Damian have surprise for her.
Damian: Are you sure you’re okay? The attack was really dangerous, You’re sure you’re fine?
Lila, thinking ‘yes, fucking finally. Almost thought you have no feelings’ : Oh, it was so scary !!!!!! 😱😰😨😨😨 [just hella lot of emojis. She seems like that kind to me] I was absolutely terrified!!!! I’m just glad that it’s all over. After the attack Robin came up to check up on me. He even flirted with me, i think he likes me... Too bad I already like someone else 😘😘😘😘😘😘
Lila: But don’t worry, dami!!!! I’m a little shaken up, but overall okay. But if you want to we can facetime so you can make sure I’m not injured ;*
Damian, having to physically restrain himself fro throwing his phone against the wall: ...
Damian: Fuck.
Damian: Wrong number.
Lila: ಠ_ಠ
---------
And of course I’m involving Twitter. Who do you think I am?
At first it was one of of his siblings who posted a post about how he’s seething at his phone, probably his penpal texted him something again.
But do you seriously thing Damian would pass such an amazing opportunity?
Haha.
No.
He immediately posts his follow up and it goes downhill from here. He adds shit ton of tweets about her, making Lila famous (and she doesn’t even know she is).
People don’t know whom to pity more; Damian, for having a horrible and lying penpal, or said penpal, for having an enemy in the Ice Prince of Gotham?
The hashtags #IcePrince’sPenpal #PenpalNightmare #MenaceOfAPenpal are created and are trending every day.
Many say it’s the most active he’s ever been.
---------
Lila is not stupid in this, okay? A pathological liar and a manipulator, yes, but for that you need brain and she has one. Much to Damian’s surprise. And yeah, sometimes she lets her imagination get the best of her, but she’s cautious enough and has proof to often back her up.
She knows she screwed up. Her penpal doesn’t believe her and isn’t scared to call her out.
Due to him bluntly uncovering her lies, some of the classmates see through the blinds she’d put on their eyes and get suspicious of her.
If you have mercy on them, make them come to Marinette and apologize.
...
Yeah, I’m not doing that.
The class sticks to Lila’s version of every story and they don’t believe Damian is THE Damian Wayne, even when a fricking limousine drives up to the school and a butler comes out of it.
---------
Random notes and ideas that don’t really have any sense or anything tbh, but I had them so there you go
About the attack, obviously the school has to inform the parents, right? But, if you're salty enough, you can, oh i don't know, make bustier and/or Damocles not inform them thus creating even more problems for them in the near future. (Yes, i hate bustier and damocles with passion, they’re enablers and Damocles is a gold digger tbh)
*
One day the french class is at a random restaurant (I’m honestly tempted to put them in Red Robin just for my own entertainment) when the Wayne brothers come in. They recognize them and Lila sees the opportunity, so she goes up to them.
Lila: Hiii Damiii!!!! [Yes, I know this is a real life conversation]
Damian, just done with her: Ugh, not you again.
Tim just kinda glances at her and decides she’s not worth his time.
Jason: What the fuck do you have on your head?
Dick: Oh, Damian, is this your crush or the penpal you despise so much?
Damian: The latter. And i do not have a crush
Lila, who totally stopped listening after she heard “crush”: That’s me!!!!
[Silence]
Damian: Marinette’s over there. Let’s go.
Lila: ;_;
Yeah, it sucks to be Lila.
[I thought I posted this a month ago. I didn’t. What the hell]
This is probably class salt, maybe a little bit Marinette salt, if you squint. (I still love Marinette, don’t get me wrong)
It’s all based on just asking yourself ‘what if’ and I want you to understand that I’m not trying to explain Lila’s actions because hell no am I doing that. It’s a simple idea I came up with and decided to share.
---------
What if Lila didn’t lie, just didn’t say the whole truth?
It’s her protection, because she technically isn’t lying, right? She never specified anything. They can’t be mad at her, because they misunderstood the information.
“Oh, of course I know Jagged Stone. I loved his newest song!”
Everyone knows Jagged Stone. He’s a world famous singer, he has a title of King of Rock n’ Roll. And she never specified what songs she’s talking about. It doesn’t have to be a song no one, but Lila, have heard before, because she personally knows him; it could simply be his newly released one.
“Clara Nightindale’s newest music video is amazing. I know these dance moves really well, want me to teach you?”
Maybe Lila is a dancer and Clara’s dance moves are commonly used by Lila. Maybe Lila has already watched the video before them and she’s a fast learner, so she already can dance Clara’s choreography. It doesn’t have to mean she and Clara are besties and Lila showed the moves to the singer, or that Clara stole them from Lila.
“Yes, I do know Prince Ali. I love his charity organizations. I actually volunteer in some too.”
Again, she never said she has her own charities or that she knows him personally. But her mother is a diplomat, for crying out loud. There is always a possibility they’d met once on some gala or event, when Lila accompanied her mom. And believe it or not, maybe Lila does have a heart (maybe just not for people, but for animals? Like, I”d support caring about animals)
“I’m Ladybug’s best friend.”
Ah, a tough one. But, and consider this, what if LB said on TV she wishes to be friends with all Paris’s citizens and Lila took it just a tiny bit too seriously? What if she saw or heard the superheroine comforting the akuma victim, saying they were friends or they could consider her their friend and tell her what made them so upset that devilish insect transformed them into Hawk Moron’s minion and Lila just felt it was so nice of her and as a sign of being LB’s fan or supporter she decided to call herself her friend to show her trust for Ladybug? Or it was a simple language misunderstanding; Lila’s italian and this is her first day in a country where everyone’s speaking french. Maybe her french is rusty and instead of saying she’s a fan, she told Adrien she’s Ladybug’s best friend.
“I’m Volpina, a superhero.”
Another hard one! Bear with me here; let’s presume that it’s Lila’s way of coping with everything. Assume that her grandma really did give her the necklace, but it’s not a miraculous, it’s a simple necklace. No magic in it. But it to Lila it is magical. Maybe when Lila was little, she was shy and scared of meeting new people, so her grandma made up a story about how it’s a magical necklace that can transform girl into a brave hero if she wears it. And now Lila just carries it with her as a reminder of her grandma and that she can always be brave, even when everything and everyone gets too much. Ladybug just happens to hear Lila claiming to be superhero, so goes there to clear things up. She does it harshly, but Marinette is 13 year old girl who was not prepared to become a hero and she hasn’t even met Idiot Fu yet. (It’s officialy master Fu salt, I’ve never liked him tbh). She freaks out on Lila a bit, because she’s not aware of another hero and she doesn’t know what to do in situations like this, so she reacts emotionally. It just happens to make Lila hate her.
Trips to other countries? They could always happen or are going to happen, but in the far future and Lila is just a bitch and decides to use the information to her advance and ditches school.
Many disabilities? Are possible. I know someone who gets pains in random places on their body depending on weather. They can’t do anything about it and it’s not like it puts them in danger, it’s just an effect of something they had gone through in their life. The pains come and go and like I said appear in randoms spots in their body.
Ugh, the tinnitus. Maybe Lila has something similar to tinnitus, not as drastic, but she sometimes (rarely, but she’s not gonna tell that anyone) hears soft noises in her ears. But can we just pretend Lila is smarter than that? I never said this Lila isn’t a little ooc. Yes? Okay, good.
Also, Lila's just dramatic af. That can be an explanation too.
Akumas take long to be taken down by Chat Noir and Ladybug. Like I said, Lila is still evil in this. And some akumas really do take longer, so there’s that... Schools cancel classes due the attacks, so she could say her classes got canceled due the akuma. And her mother never asked for how long they’re canceled. Lila's mother is busy all the time, and her daughter isn't afraid to use it ot her advantage.
And our favorite one called "Threaten Marinette In The Bathroom To Take Away All Her Friends"
Lila is smarter here. Why would she risk losing to Marinette by threating her and doing it in a public place like that? Nu-uh, Lila's better than this.
She does it quietly, without all the dramatics. She warns Marinette, she tells her to be careful with how much of this dislike towards Lila she shows, because it can backfire on her. It's an advice, but there's a warning hidden beneath it.
And while Lila may not always say everything, she means what she says.
Don't worry, I didn't forget about the class.
They don't read too much into Lila's words. They assume she knows those people, they assume she did she things she mentions, even though she never said "I did it"
The way the start bullying Marinette is different (a little bit) from most fanfics I read usually too.
Lila doesn't come crying to school. She doesn't have bruises on her. She never outright says Marinette did something to her.
She just casually says she was talking to Marinette the other day and the girl seemed angry. She never told them if Marinette was angry at her. Hell, she just mentioned Marinette seemed to be angry, but it doesn't even have to mean she was.
Lila comes to class limping a little, says her ankle hurts because she bumped into Marinette, when the girl was running because she was late again. It was an accident.
The class reads into it. They hear "Marinette bullies me" even though the word "bully" never even left Lila's mouth. They all do it by themselves and Lila just watches.
And the grand final: when the class finally starts to understand Lila's words.
"You lied to us!" Alya yelled.
Lila snorted, "I've never lied to you." It was the truth, she doesn't lie.
"But you don't know Jagged Stone, you don't know Clara. You don't know Ladybug. You lied!" Rose cried out.
"Well, it's not my fault you never asked." She shrugged. They couldn't be that dense, could they?
"What?" Nino asked, staring at her in desbelief.
"You've never told me to specify. You've never demanded any proof. You just chose to believe. It's not my fault." She shrugged again.
Lila Rossi is not a liar. Never were. Never will.
There's a reason why Lila's favorite animal is a fox. Fox is a symbol of cunningness. And Lila always prouded herself for being cunning.
Okay, so I've got this random idea for Lila and class salt fic.
And if someone had done that already, i didn’t know so don’t come at me.
Basically Marinette gets so fed up she calls her uncle Jagged and every other celebrity she knows and makes a plan.
The plan is that the celebrities Lila claims to know, come to their school and pretend they know her and kind of call out her lies in front of the whole class by doing this 'remember how we met?' thing and then proceeds to tell a story how she lied she had known them in order to actually meet them.
And Marinette just watches all of it from her desk at the back of the room. With Chloe, since Kagami is not in the class and yes, I’m still bitter about it.
Example:
"Hey, Lila! Long time no see! Hey, remember how we met?" Chris Hemsworth draped an arm around Lila.
"I still feel like it was just yesterday you came to the set of my movie and somehow convinced my manager you knew me. And remember how you walked up to me and then said you got lost and I, by some mistake, looked like your brother? But then we talked and it all turned out just fine! But how is Mike? I heard he caught a flu."
Chris laughed, tightening the hold he had on her shoulder, "Good times, good times!"
(mind you the class knows she doesn't have a brother. Plus Chris and Lila don't look even a little similar.)
Other than that, Marinette also got some other celebrities to come and ask Lila, if whatever she had promised them, was done.
Example:
"Lila, dear!" Nadja barged into the classroom, "Thank you so much for getting me that interview with Tom Holland!" she clapped her hands happily.
"But i need to know when will it be. I need to clear my schedule for that day! I've already talked with my boss, so i need the date asap!"
Basically the idea is that the celebrities tell the lies she had told them that absolutely don't match to the ones she had told the class, which plants seeds of suspicion towards her.
Bonus if then Ladybug comes in yelling about how much she missed her bestie and thanking her for, i dunno, showing her Hawkmoth's lair location or contacting other heroes from USA (someone please write maribat, i beg you-) or something like that. And it makes Lila freak out so much, she almost passes out.
You can use it if you want to, just tag me please!
Opposite Day (Or DuPont’s Worst Nightmare) Part 2: electric boogaloo
Hello Everyone!! The title is a joke, i promise! I saw a chance, and i took it lol. Anyway, In this part, we’ll be focusing on Lila a little bit, and the class focusing on everything Marinette said to them, and having a couple heart to hearts :) Just an FYI, the taglist is still open! And if you wanna be tagged, send me an ask and i’ll put you on the list!
Just a tip lmao: To really get a feel on how i interpret the mood of this chapter i recommend listening to this piano cover of knee socks by Arctic Monkeys, it made me cry :,)
Okay, on to the story!
___________
Original Post / Previous / Next / Masterlist
Footsteps echoed through the halls of DuPont Highschool, going straight towards the bathrooms. I have to make this right! She has to still be there! I have to apologize, come clean, tell her I’m sorry. I didn’t want it to go this far. But i was too stubborn, I let it get out of hand.
Lila raced to the bathroom, only find it was empty. “Dammit! Of course it’s empty!” She cursed, closing the door and going back down the hallway. Lila grabbed her phone, checking the time, and decided on another idea. Perfect, I can’t back out of it this way.
Lila ran towards the library, her backpack slung over her shoulders. Finding a table in the library, Lila sat down, and dug out her notebook. Picking out a pencil, she flipped open a page and got to writing. I have to explain, I need her to understand, and fast.
After a good 30 minutes of writing, Lila grabbed her things, racing towards the front of the school. Sprinting down the steps, she ran toward the cross walk to get to the side of the road, and after looking both ways, ran towards a very familiar and well known building. With determination in her eyes, She pushed open the door, hearing the bell jingle, alerting an older woman of her presence. The older woman smiled, and greeted her. Lila noticed the bakery was very empty at the moment.
“How can i help you, dear?” The woman asked, walking away from the counter. Lila took that as a sign to walk towards her. Walking up to her, with around 6ft between them, Lila took a deep breath.
Suddenly feeling nervous, her mouth goes dry. “Uhm, excuse me..” Lila’s words got caught in throat before the guilt came crawling back in waves. She swallowed, and repeated herself. “Excuse me, ma’am? I.. I need to speak to you.” The woman tilts her head in confusion, a smile still present on her face. “Well, of course, what is it? I’m Sabine, by the way.”
Lila would be lying if she said she wasn’t shocked that Sabine, Marinette’s mother, didn’t recognize her. Surely, Marinette had told her parents about Lila? Just how much was she keeping to herself?
With a shake of her head, Lila decided to say her name. “I’m Lila, Marinette’s..” Lila cleared her throat. “Uhm.. Marinette’s classmate. I need you to give this to her, later tonight. Please, after school is over, and she’s home.” Handing a letter to her, Lila balled her fists at her sides. Straightening her posture, Lila looked Sabine in the eyes, and said, as confident as she could manage, “I made some mistakes, and my apology is in that letter. I need her to read it at exactly the right moment. Your daughter didn’t deserve any of the things that happened. I’d appreciate it, if you’d comply with my request.” Finishing her plead, Lila took a deep breath, and blinked repeatedly to rid of the tears, and the burning sensation behind her eyelids.
“Of course! I’ll give this to her tonight. I’m glad you’re coming clean, Lila. It’s very mature of you. Would you like something from the bakery?” Sabine tucked the letter away in her apron, and gestured towards the glass cases showing the baked goods they had on display.”Uh,” Lila started, reaching into her pocket. Feeling her money pouch with her allowance she kept hid, She nodded her head. “Yes, please. Question, though.”
‘Yes, Lila?” Sabine asked, smiling again. “Which ones did Marinette make?” Lila scanned the room, searching for the macaroons the baker’s daughter was famous among the class for bringing. Sabine pointed towards different colored macaroons and chocolate covered croissants in a display cased with a sign on it called, “Marinette’s specialty baked sweets!”
Pulling out her pouch, Lila remembered just how much was in the pouch, and asked for as much as what was in there could get her. Sabine looked shocked, once again. “Are you sure, this is a lot.” Nodding her head, Lila pleaded for the second time that day. “Please, please make sure that money reaches Marinette. Consider this apart of my apology. It’s the least I could do, honestly.” Nodding her head, Sabine accepted the money, and assured the girl the money would reach her daughter.
Leaving the bakery with goods in hand(s), Lila sighed, hoping her plan would work. I just hope I don’t try to back out of this when i’m back to normal, I can’t afford to.
_____
Sighing, Alya scratched her head. Nino looked over at her, “Something wrong, Alya?” Messing with her hair, Alya groaned, “No, Nino, everything’s peachy!” “Sorry, Alys, dumb question.” Nino said, sheepishly. “It’s fine, i just can’t stop thinking about everything Marinette said.” Alya confessed, alerting the rest of the class. “Honestly, none of us can. What she said really hurt, but she did bring up a few good points.”
“Oh, really? Like what, Nino?” Alya glared, crossing her arms. “Well, We did ignore her for the past month in favor of Lila...” Rose pitched in, sadly. “Yeah, and she doesn’t like Adrien, definitely. I’ve been hanging out with him all month, frequently, and she hasn’t talked, texted, even seen Adrien all month.” Nino explained, He shrugged, “ He even complained how everyone but Marinette talks to him. He says he doesn’t know what he did, but he thinks she’s been avoiding him.”
“Where is he, anyway?” Alix asked, noticing the resident “sunshine boy” wasn’t present. “It IS lunchtime, Alix. His dad probably wanted him home or something.” Ivan replied, shrugging his shoulders. Alya placed her head in her hands, clearly frustrated. “I don’t get it. Am I a tabloid reporter? Surely, everything Lila says is the truth! She wouldn’t lie like that.” Mostly everyone was murmuring among themselves, mostly agreeing with her.
“If you think Lila wouldn’t lie, then what about Marinette?”
Silence. Alya surveyed the room. Who had said that? She spotted Nathaniel in the back, staring right at her. He spoke again. “Why is Marinette different then Lila? We’ve known her longer than Lila, she’s never given us reason to doubt her before, and Marinette hates liars just as much as Ladybug hates Hawkmoth.” Nathaniel continued to stare right at Alya, knowing she was one of the main accusers, if not the only one. “Well, you know Marinette acts crazy and kinda stalker-like when she gets jealous-” Alya tried to explain.
“But who is she jealous of? You heard her scream it right in your face. She isn’t jealous of Lila, so yeah, Alya, why would Marinette lie? Did you even check if Lila was telling the truth?” Alix, of all people had decided to speak up. She narrowed her eyes at Alya, deciding to perch like a gargoyle on her desk. Everyone had to admit, it was slightly intimidating.
“Alix? Why are you defending her? I mean, we get Nathaniel, he liked her at one point, but you?” Kim asked, shocked, and very confused. "Because I realized Lila's lies were hurting Marinette a couple weeks ago. Dont you remember? I stopped hanging out with the girls whenever Lila was there." Alix explained, rolling her eyes. Before anyone could say anything to Alix, someone walked in.
In all her glory, there stood Lila.
The class was silent, as they watched her walk to the middle of the room. "I need to speak to all of you, and it's important that you listen to what I have to say while my personality is reversed."
Everyone murmured in shock. Lila knew she was acting different? Everyone quieted back down, and Lila started speaking again. "Over the past month, since I came back, I've been lying to you all. I said that I did all these great things, met all these people, went places. But I lied."
Lila spoke before anyone could say anything in response. "Before you assume why I did these things, I want you to know, that I didn't do them cause I wanted friends, its an entirely different reason that I'm not gonna tell you, until I tell Marinette, cause she deserves to know the truth first. After everything I've done," Lila continued her monologue, taking a deep breath. "Of course, it still doesn't excuse my actions for lying, but one thing I don't get, is why you all believed me. I've been to 5 different schools, counting this one, and none of them except you ever believed my lies. I don't get it."
“Well, we accept your apology Lila. We’re glad you came clean.” Alya spoke up, finally. It was clear she was taking this whole thing the hardest. “Wait, then we really did hate Marinette for no reason!” Mylene cried, her hands flying up to her mouth. Rose gasped, and teared up. “You’re right, oh no..” Juleka hugged Rose, who was now crying.
“I don’t get that either. Yes, I was hard on her, but i never expected you to believe Marinette, the class president, the goody-two-shoes of this school would bully me.” Lila spoke up again. “At least you know what you did.”
And with that, she left. Where, no one knew.
“We have to apologize to her. Immediately.” Alya cried, running out of the classroom, desperate to find her ex-best friend. The girls of the class ran after her, minus Alix. “You guys can apologize to her once the girls are done. I feel like bombarding her at once will be a bad idea. The girls ran out before I could say anything to them.” Alix sighed, jumping down from her desk. Holding her hands behind her head, she walked out with Nathaniel beside her.
____
Arriving at the bakery, Alya opened the bakery door, and the rest of the girls present followed after. “Mlle. Cheng! Where’s Marinette? We need to speak to her, like right now!” Alya pleaded, her words coming out in a frenzy, and very rushed. Sabine looked slightly shocked, and surprised. “I’m afraid Marinette hasn’t been home since this morning, girls. She told me she wasn’t going to be home for lunch because she was meeting up with a friend of hers. I’m sorry, girls.” Sabine gave them a pitying look, turning away to tend to the customer in front of her. “Dammit! Where could she be?” Alya groaned, leaving the bakery with everyone following behind her. “Who knows? Wait, she mentioned a friend?” Rose asked. Everyone nodded, before Rose turned to Juleka. “What about your brother?! They’re friends, aren’t they? You did mention they hang out a lot!” Rose squealed excitedly, as Juleka nodded. Alya grabbed Rose’s shoulders and shook them excitedly, exclaiming, “Rose! You’re a genius!”
“Look! It’s Ladybug!” A bystander cried, pointing to the sky. Everyone watched in admiration and awe as the spotted heroine swung over the city, her feline partner not far behind her.
