i just thought of this yesterday because i didn’t like my whumptober day 2 fic (i used the prompt sewer) and so i decided to use the prompt prophecy instead and i was like “well how am i gonna fit this into six of crows? i’ll just make a soc x pjo au instead” and that’s where the whole idea came from
characters
main cast:
kaz is a son of hermes. he got to camp when he was 14, i’m not too sure about how i’m going to adapt his backstory yet though
inej is a child of hecate. they got to camp at 15 and they’re fem-presenting nonbinary! i kept their backstory mostly the same, except with traffickers instead of slavers
jesper is a legacy of hephaestus. he graduated high school early and moved to the us for uni. he started using a fake id to go to parties, started gambling, etc. not quite sure how he ended up at chb yet. he's also genderfluid
nina is a daughter of aceso (goddess of the healing process and the curing of sickness). she stays in the hermes cabin. i’m not entirely sure how she got to chb yet either
matthias is a son of themis and he stays in the hestia cabin (which i decided is cabin 21). once again not too sure of how to interpret his backstory/how he ended up at chb
wylan is a son of athena. he grew up with his dad in silicon valley but then he was sent to new york (state not city). from there he was supposed to stay with an extended family member for a few days, then go to france for music school via boat. very soon after the boat departed (like under thirty mins) the whole murder attempt thing happened. yada yada yada he swam back to shore (significantly more difficult, given that he was Not in a canal he was. a little bit In The Ocean), and then two months a satyr named hollis found him and got him to chb
side characters:
emmeline is the oracle of delphi. she's 15, and they've been oracle and at CHB for under a year.
noa is the head counselor of the athena cabin. she's 19, been at CHB since she was 11. she's from philly! she makes sure everyone knows to pronounce her name with softer vowels, because the head counselor of hephaestus is named noah, and they often get mixed up
kit is the head counselor of the hermes cabin. they're 19
caspian is the head counselor of the hecate cabin. he's 18
noah is the aforementioned head counselor of the hephaestus cabin. he's 19.
zephyra is a daughter of apollo. she's 15, and she's existed for SO long before i thought of this au (like she's existed since 1+ year before i even considered reading soc). she's from italy!
aspen is a child of clio and the head counselor of the hestia cabin. they're 20, and a lot of campers see it as almost a sort of parental figure
plot
ok so i can't say a ton but the main plot of what i have written so far is revolving a prophecy (woah really) involving a sword, traveling west, doom, and retribution (also i've learned just how deeply it pains me to write rhyming poetry from writing the prophecy). but my day 2 whumptober fic isn't where the story starts, or where it ends! i'm gonna make this a series and there will be many fics for this au that will take place both before and after the day 2 fic
misc
i made my own calendar system for this just because i didn't feel like trying to figure out when it takes place and then writing it in the future. it takes place several years after kronos and gaea and all that stuff, chb and cj are very integrated, and there's more space at chb + more adults around to take some responsibility off the kids' shoulders. the calendar system is b.k. (before kaz, functions like bc/bce) and k.e. (kaz era, functions like ad/ce). kaz was just the easiest to use for this because we have a pretty exact timeline of important events that we can use for reference. so jordie was born 3 b.k., matthias was born 1 b.k., kaz was born 0 (i know there's no 0 bc/bce but it makes things easier). this obviously isn't how any mentioned dates will be formatted in the fics but it made the timeline easier behind the scenes
untitled soc modern au!
i've already written a few different fics for this (although they're in two separate versions of this au, because when i wrote them was around when i first had this idea and it was going thru many changes), and i have a couple more in progress! some of the bits about the characters in this, especially about gender identity and neurodiversity, aren't at all exclusive to this au, but they're mentioned explicitly in my writing for this au (as opposed to being implied in my canon universe writing). this info is also very flimsy and subject to change across different fics until i start writing a series with one overarching plot (which will hopefully be pretty soon!).
colm is kaz and nina's adoptive father!
kaz grew up in a farm near ambleside in britain. as an adult he'd probably be a financial analyst or something similar, but i mostly write the crows as high school age in my modern au fics. he's autistic, left handed, and he has asthma. like with the pjo fusion au i'm not too sure how his backstory will translate yet, but i'm figuring it out. he's surprisingly good at singing, he says that his favorite color is black (it's really purple), and he doesn't like tea if it's sweetened.
inej is dukhan (is that the right word to use in this context?? i was looking it up and i couldn't really figure out which word to use). the alterations to her backstory are the same as in the pjo fusion au. she has dissociative amnesia. she became vegetarian post-heleen as a small way to express her freedom. she's an acrobat and she's learning aerial silks and figure skating. she has a sweet tooth and doesn't drink coffee. in an adult context she'd be either a social worker or a pre school teacher.
jesper is ghanaian (moved to rural uk when he was really young... or maybe rural us? i'm not too sure yet but i think it'll probably be uk). he's genderfluid (as always). in this au he started gambling behind colm's back (it started similarly to how it did in the pjo fusion au) and it spun out into addiction. he's working thru it with colm now. he loves depop and dancing. he has adhd (obviously) and depression. he also has hypermobile eds, but his joint pain usually isn't too severe. his auditory processing is shit and he loves ice cream.
nina grew up in russia. i'm not quite sure how to translate the little palace and such yet. she's pan, prefers gold over silver, has pots, and loves yogurt covered raisins (jesper says it's an old lady thing. she ignores him). in an adult context she'd be an actress. she also has an avid interest in the human body and has ocd. she's jewish :D
matthias is scandanavian. like with nina and kaz i haven't yet worked out how to reinterpret most of his backstory to fit this au, but i do know that in this au he was born into a cult. he loves hiking, camping, and hiking boots, but he hates camo with every bone in his body, really for no reason. he's autistic and has generalized anxiety disorder, and when he can't remember how to say something in english he gestures almost like he's reaching out for something
wylan is from birmingham (for now, but this is subject to change). he ran away from home. he's a band kid, has acne and acne scars from picking at it, and he's always at least a little bit sick. he adores tea and baked goods. he's jewish, and in an adult context he'd be a chemist

untitled wesper different first meet au
ok so this one is also new and was developed for whumtober! it was for the 13th alt prompt, innocent bystander. i'll actually be posting that fic for day 1 because i really couldn't figure out where to take any of the day 1 fics i started writing.
the fic i've written for this starts maybe a week after the whole belendt ordeal. also, this au features trans wylan! he's still very fem presenting when it starts, though, and he hasn't decided on his preferred name yet.
jesper and wylan first meet when jesper and kaz get into a small fight with rival gang members. kaz leaves and jesper's about to follow when he sees wylan (who's having a panic attack). jes acts on pure impulse and asks wylan if he needs a place to stay. wylan does, and he goes back to the slat with jesper. can't say much more but i have MANY many plans heeheehee
