Happy Martin Luther King Jr day. Today, more than any other day, we see sanitized quotes from Dr. King and it is incredibly important to remember his full message. Dr. King did not “die” for civil rights, he was assassinated, murdered. Remember that the work is not done, keep fighting. To all my African American followers and mutuals, I wish you power and healing; to my white followers and mutuals, I urge you to continue to unlearn your internalized racism and to be an active listener when people of color talk and to use whatever power you have to uplift their voices.

Y’all got ya generalized quote of MLK to post on this day then forget about the tragedies inflicted on African Americans any other day because you can’t be bothered to advocate for those in need but you want the world to know you’re not THAT type of racist or racist at all because you support Dr. Martin Luther King jr and think Obama was his legacy but still wishes the blacks would just get it together since it’s not so hard, I mean look at (insert cliché black person) they got their life together so the blacks must be making it up, but anyway, happy Martin Luther King jr day. Now let’s put a hold on implementing voter change until later this year because we need the blacks to come out in droves to vote us.
