Shoutout to all my lovely followers on this fine day.
Idk if this is just me but since I’m crazy levels of sex repulsed/triggered, I cannot participate in the ace community at all. I’m romance repulsed too but I am able to participate actively in the aro community, and I’m not sure if that’s because I’m just less repulsed by romance or if aros actually talk about romance less than aces talk about sex. It’s sad cuz I wish I could feel connected to the ace community as an aroace esp cuz it’s so much bigger than the aro community, but I feel super alienated from it because they keep talking about sex! Not just online but in irl groups too.
Anyways I’m dying to know how other repulsed aroaces feel. Does anyone else find ace spaces too focused on sex? Does anyone find aro spaces too focused on romance? (These are good faith questions about personal comfort levels, I don’t wanna see any hate toward either community!!)
yeah i find it difficult sometimes. for instance ive grown sick of most ace memes bc instead of relieving me they just remind me of sex
