Just curious if any of you people have played Overwatch, and if so, which character would each of the ElGang like/enjoy? Love the blog by the way, keep it up.
With thirteen people in the Elgang, one person has to sit out and watch the ragequits. But it still manages to be fun. Most of the time. When Chung isn’t screaming.
Elsword - All the tanks. ALL OF THEM. High damage and high HP - what more could you want? He becomes an absolute monster when he learns to use Reinhardt’s Charge, and if there’s a D.VA mech exploding in your face, you can bet he’s laughing his ass off and hightailing it out of there. If his sister is running around on the opposite team playing McCree, watch him shadow her with Roadhog and make a nuisance of himself until she manages to flashbang and fan the hammer on him or just switches out of rage. (He loves waiting for her to use McCree’s ultimate skill and then hook her right before McCree says “noon”.)
Aisha - Aisha essentially mains Mei. She just loves hopping around, slowing people down and then headshotting them, creating giant walls of ice to block off entrances/exits or stop the payload, and luring people into cramped areas and chucking a Blizzard at them. If she consistently gets shut down, she’ll go Hanzo and snipe, but she won’t be happy about it and whoever dared shut her down had better go Zarya and have that shield up all the time or else they’ll be constantly murdered.
Rena - Poor Rena gets stuck with Mercy for heals, and gets teased about wanting to main Hanzo. She does not want to main Hanzo. Hanzo’s aiming thing, she claims, is too different from an actual bow for her to get used to. She doesn’t want to main anyone, actually, as she really likes switching off and screwing with the other team’s minds. She’s best at Mercy (getting stuck with her so much does improve your playing), Widowmaker (get headshotted out of nowhere? it’s probably Rena or Ara), and Tracer (bouncing around and confusing people for the win, yo!)
Raven - Brilliant strategist Raven is usually the one telling people what to do, what characters to pick, and where to position those characters for maximum effort. But if given a choice, Raven likes playing as Roadhog and Genji. Roadhog can take tons of damage and regain health without too much effort, and also Raven likes the ability to pull opponents in and dispatch them. Genji is quick and mobile, and Raven likes the ability to deflect shots. He’s also figured out how to use Genji as an effective counter when Ara is setting herself up as Widowmaker.
Eve - She’s the most versatile out of the Elgang, able to analyze a situation and switch to the character most necessary. She uses almost all the characters with competence (though she’ll avoid D.VA if at all possible; she doesn’t like having to deal with what’s basically two characters at once.) If she gets to pick though, she likes playing Torbjorn and screwing the other team over with turrets that cover turrets that cover turrets. Try and destroy one of her turrets, two more come at you. Try and ignore them, they’re all pointed at you to screw you over. You just can’t win.
Chung - Did you step on one of Junkrat’s concussion mines or steel traps? Is a Pharah or (rarely) a Zarya harassing your team? Then Chung’s on the batlefield. He loves Pharah’s high damage and maneuverability in the air, which allows him to see the battlefield and touch down where he can do the most damage. If Ara is being a nuisance and constantly shooting him out of the air, he’ll switch to Junkrat and wait for Raven to murder Ara while he lays traps and runs around causing havoc. He also uses the steel trap & basketball trick so much that it’s ceased to be amusing. (Zarya is just his choice when his team needs a tank.)
Ara - Ara finds the actual melee battle of Overwatch to be confusing, so she doesn’t like to be in the thick of things. You can usually find her playing as Widowmaker and sniping from high and hidden places, playing as Symmetra and assisting her teammates with well-placed turrets and teleporters, or if nobody else is a healer, playing as Mercy and jumping around waving her caduceus staff.
Elesis - She likes using McCree the most because of flashbangs, fanning the hammer, and Deadeye, but if Elsword is on the opposite team, she’ll switch out of frustration. Her usual switches are Lucio (everyone wants to protect the healer), Tracer (zipping around and blasting people while having an option to regain any health she loses to Elsword’s tank characters? Sweet deal) or Soldier: 76 (He does nice burst damage and she likes the ability to hightail it out of whatever clusterfight the game has turned into).
Add - Is there a Reaper popping up in the middle of your team, using his Ultimate, and then nyooming away to pick off anyone who’s separated? Yeah, that’d be Add. He’s a nuisance and Elesis makes it a point to go after him if she’s McCree and he’s Reaper. He makes it difficult for her to catch him, though, often trying to lure her into turrets or Ara’s line of sight. Sometimes Add wil try Zenyatta just because it’s pretty much a Nasod, or he’ll dabble with Torbjorn if his team desperately needs defensively placed turrets, but Reaper is his one true love in this game.
Lu - D.VA, Pharah, and Reinhardt are Lu’s best characters. Her hands are a bit too small to properly play the game, so if her character suddenly stops and you hear a shriek of rage, that’s why. She really likes characters that can jump right into combat and deal tons of damage, which is why she’s usually on D.VA, but she can launch rockets or swing a hammer too. The only thing she doesn’t like about Reinhardt is that he can’t attack while holding his shield. But that’s okay, because she has Ciel to take care of that for her.
Ciel - If Lu is on his team, which she usually is, they’ll come up with a plan together. Sometimes she’ll be Reinhardt and protect Ciel while he chooses Bastion and mows down everyone with a machine gun. Sometimes he’ll be Hanzo or Widowmaker and protect her as she takes to the skies with Pharah. Or else he’ll pick any support character and go help her wreck the entire other team with D.VA. If Lu isn’t on his team, Ciel switches off depending on what the team needs.
Rose - This girl can play anyone with a gun, which is pretty much everyone in the game. The only gunner she can’t get a hang of is Widowmaker, and she tried Hanzo but mostly ended up dead, so don’t ask her to snipe. You can usually find her with a Zarya, a Bastion, or a Soldier: 76 right in the middle of the fight. The girl is DANGEROUS. One person on the opposite team is constantly assigned to take her out. (Whether they succeed is another matter altogether. So far, Eve has the most success - about a 50/50 chance.)
