Good morning, noon, and night, Miraculers! Recently, I’ve come across many different tropes and ideas that the entire fandom (or most of it) believes are true. This is probably due to the hiatus. This post is a partial list of what the fandom has considered canon, even though it hasn’t been confirmed through the show itself nor through the creators. Please note that when “Word of God” is mentioned, it means that Thomas, Jeremy, and other members of Zag Animation have confirmed it, but it hasn’t appeared in the show.
So keep in mind that this post is in no way trying to discredit headcanons, for all of them are good. The only objective here is to differentiate fanon from canon.
Nino takes pictures and video for the Ladyblog.
We do not know if Nino helps Alya with the Ladyblog. We don’t even know if Nino is tech-savvy with source codes, video format, video editing, et cetera. This is entirely fanon.
Akuma attacks happen every few days/weeks.
Canon has confirmed that akuma attacks can happen multiple times a day. Hawk Moth has all the time in the world and he desperately wants the Miraculouses. He has sent out up to three akuma a day, though this is rare. On average, he sends out at least one per day. He sends them out at any time of the day too, as seen in the Christmas Special. (Sources: “Lady Wifi,” “Princess Fragrance,” and “Antibug,” among other episodes.)
Marinette is nervous/not confident in herself/has not faith in her abilities/thinks Chat Noir wouldn’t like her civilian self.
If you are writing a fic before Marinette got Tikki, then this is true. However, ever since September 2 (”Stoneheart Origins Part 2″), this is false. Marinette has confidence in herself and her abilities. Sure, she’s clumsy, but she isn’t nervous, doesn’t lack confidence in herself anymore, and has faith in her abilities as a normal girl.
Marinette doesn’t want to tell Chat Noir who she is.
Tikki is the one who doesn’t want Marinette to tell Chat Noir her identity. Marinette wants to tell him. She says that in “Lady Wifi.” However, Marinette agrees with Tikki’s logic in not telling Chat Noir her identity, whatever that logic may be.
The public doesn’t like Chat Noir as much as Ladybug or the public relegates him to a sidekick role.
No. In “Pixelator,” the public adores him. They cheered him on when he was about to take Pixelator’s camera, which led to his capture. They trust Chat Noir. Moreover, the Copycat episode doesn’t show a single disappointed face when only Chat Noir shows up for the statue inauguration, showing that they’re pretty equal in the public’s eye. However, Manon and Antibug have been shown to make a difference between Ladybug and Chat Noir by respectively not mentioning him and calling him a sidekick.
Marinette has an online store/does commissions.
This has not been confirmed in canon. This has not been mentioned in canon. Marinette wears the clothes she makes, yes, but we have no proof that she sells them.
Gabriel Agreste abuses/doesn’t love his son/wife/family.
Gabriel does not physically abuse anyone in his family. Gabriel loves his family as shown in “Simon Says.” In the webisode “Adrien’s Double Life,” it is mentioned that Mrs. Agreste disappeared and that Gabriel changed when that happened. However, it is not explained the reason and the nature of the disappearance.
Gabriel may neglect Adrien to the care of Nathalie and indirectly emotionally abuse Adrien, but that depends on how you characterize Gabriel. Gabriel cares for Adrien, but he doesn’t know how to handle his emotions about his missing wife (as seen in “A Christmas Special”).
Gabriel forced Adrien to model.
According to the same webisode, “Adrien’s Double Life,” Adrien models sometimes for his father because he believes it can bring him closer to him, and because he thinks it helps Gabriel out. Adrien thinks modelling is fun, but he doesn’t want to pursue a serious career.
Adrien starves because he’s a model.
First, male model diets are far different from female model diets. Male models are encouraged to be huge and buff. Because Adrien is a teen, he doesn’t have to be buff. Second, Adrien can eat whenever he wants; he was given five dishes in Origins Part 1 just because he wanted a snack. Adrien eats at least three square meals a day. He probably eats more than that because of all of his extracurricular activities (basketball and fencing take a lot of calories). Nathalie takes care of Adrien. She doesn’t let him starve.
And lastly, as mentioned in the previous point, Adrien models for fun.
In “Animan,” Alya told/didn’t tell Nino about Marinette’s crush on Adrien.
According to Word of God, we don’t know. The creators do not know what Alya told Nino while in that cage. During the Miraculous Meetup in May of 2017, the four writers said that the cage came up almost every time they met and they couldn’t decide what actually happened there. They took a poll from the audience on who believed Alya told Nino and who didn’t. All but three people in the audience who voted said that Alya told Nino. Thomas took that poll into account as to what would be canon, but as of July, 2017, he has not said what happened in the cage. The true canon should come about with the eventual comic that discusses what happened in the cage.
Adrien thinks Marinette is scared of him/doesn’t like him.
This one is not technically false but would be in more futuristic headcanons.
Adrien and Marinette became friends when he gave her his umbrella. Marinette stuttered and blushed around him at first, but they are much more comfortable around each other as of “Kung Food” and “Gamer.” Marinette doesn’t stutter when he gives her compliments. They can speak with each other without Alya translating what Marinette said, and that shows that their relationship has improved off-screen. Marinette is not a shy girl, just an anxious one. Word of God says the characters do a ton of stuff off-screen that will never be mentioned on-screen.
It might be interesting to note, however, that Adrien actually feels inferior in their friendship (as seen in “Gamer”) because he thinks Marinette is a much more incredible person.
Adrien is oblivious to Chloe’s meanness and hatred.
He sees what she does. He just doesn’t call her out on it or throw her under the bus because she was his first friend. (”Origins Part 1″)
Marinette and Lila are friends.
Lila has never met Marinette. She met Ladybug. We have no idea how the two girls will interact, especially since Marinette does not like liars. Sure, Ladybug apologized to Lila, but Marinette knows Lila’s a liar. We don’t know if Marinette holds grudges, especially when the only source of Marinette’s ire is Chloe. We don’t even know Alya’s reaction to finding out Lila is a liar because there are only a handful of witnesses who saw Volpina as a villain and not a hero.
Master Fu gives up his Miraculous or Turtle!Nino happens.
As far as current canon is concerned (seasons 2-3, possibly 4 and 5), Master Fu isn’t giving up his Miraculous any time soon. Yes, there is going to be a new Miraculous holder that we don’t know about (as in, not Fox or Bee), but we also don’t know what Miraculous that person will have because it’s supposed to be a Miraculous that has yet to been seen in the show.
Gabriel has the Peacock Miraculous.
We don’t know. Thomas tried joking with the fans that it was weird that Plagg didn’t react to it, but the fans replied that Plagg doesn’t care about anything other than Camembert. It is unknown if Thomas was implying the Miraculous was a replica or the real thing.
The akuma butterflies return to Hawk Moth.
Nope. Word of God says they go off in the wild and are free once Ladybug has cleansed them.
Hawk Moth can compel good people to do bad things/people can’t reject Hawk Moth.
Nope. Hawk Moth finds people who are in despair and have practically no hope of anything getting better. Then he compels them to do bad things. He can’t compel a good person to do bad things and people can reject him as long as they’re not akumatized. He can, however, cause akumatized victims pain if they don’t do what he wants them to (as seen in “The Evillustrator” and this thread).
Nino isn’t Moroccan.
Nino is Moroccan. Alya is from Martinique. Nathaniel is German and Jewish. Lila is Italian. Marinette is half Chinese. These kids come from all over the world. That is the intention of the show. The creators take pride in the show representing so many different people, especially people from other places with French history involved.
Ladybug and Chat Noir are known around the world.
Nope. According to “Kung Food,” Ladybug and Chat Noir are hardly known throughout France. It is not known how much of the world knows about Ladybug and Chat Noir, but it is safe to say that their influence does not go outside of Europe. Eventually, it will get to America and China, but those countries currently have other heroes who don’t necessarily have Miraculouses. It’s safe to say that they also aren’t known much throughout history. Mr. Kubdel was in charge of the King Tut exhibit, most likely could read hieroglyphics, and did not even acknowledge that there were ancient superheroes in a papyrus scroll prominently displayed on the wall. Jalil Kubdel definitely reads hieroglyphics and he didn’t notice the ancient Ladybug and Chat Noir until after he was akumatized. There are probably hundreds of more Egyptian Ladybug and Chat Noir artifacts across the world, yet no one has put anything together. (Source: “The Pharaoh”)
Marinette is always late/sleeps in class.
The only times Marinette is late are when Marinette forgets to set her alarm and when she purposefully ignores her alarm several times and her mother telling her about the alarm. Though these have happened, they haven’t been recurrent enough in the show to be called a habit. Akuma attacks also cause Marinette to be canonically late, but those normally happen while she’s in school already and the students have to evacuate the building.
Marinette has never fallen asleep in class. Chloe, Nathaniel, and Ivan, however, have all fallen asleep in class at some point.
There we have it. 20 things the fandom has considered canon even though it’s either unconfirmed or not true. This list is not exhaustive of all the small things the fandom does and it is likely to change as seasons 2 and 3 premier worldwide. We here at the Box are not trying to force your fanfiction writing to be anything less than you want it to be. We’re just trying to provide accuracy where it can be provided. This post is mainly for people who prefer to write in more canon aspects.
Thank you for your informative canon vs fanon post. I really appreciate that it's non aggressive towards fans. I feel like if more posts like that were written just as positively, there would be less drama in the fandom and more people would actually want to learn something instead of becoming stubborn and feeling attacked. This blog seems like a very valuable resource and it's run really well. My compliments to the Mods.
About a year ago, Mod Verse and I wrote a post titled “Common Fanfiction Mistakes.” Mod Maha never let that go past the draft stage because of how salty we made it. It makes me laugh because Mod Verse, Mod Arty, and I all saw the salt and thought it was a funny post. It’s been sitting in the drafts for a year. Some of the mistakes we saw have stayed the same as the fandom grew. Other new mistakes and continuity errors by the fandom have come about since then, along with new information about the show. It’s amusing to me to see how much the fandom has changed. I haven’t even rewritten and revisited half the stuff in that post because of how much the fandom has grown (about a third of the post was spelling mistakes such as “Marionette” and “Adrian,” but that’s since been taken care of as new authors learn to not trust their English dictionaries).
When I make a sequel to that post there’s so much I didn’t touch on, I’ll keep in mind to keep the salt down and just leave it as a gentle reminder that not everything upon which the fandom agrees is canon.
This blog is meant to be a resource to writers in order to help them. None of the mods here want to instigate a fandom war over what we’ve written. Some people like writing as close to canon as they possibly can. Some like creating AUs. Some accidentally lose sight of characters and characterization along the way. We’re just here to help guide people back on track. That’s why we have disclaimers at the end of every post that isn’t specifically about French culture.
Thank you, for reading, and reminding us to be gentle with what we write.
Hey can you post a free link by chance to watch this show I've only been able to find the americono version???~Anna_Slend
We at the ML Box would rather you watch the show legally than watch it pirated. It supports the show and lets television companies and ZAG Animation know that you want more of it and are willing to pay for it. Places you can legally watch the show are as follows:
Nickelodeon (English/America)
Disney/Disney XD (English/many other European countries)
ABC3 (English/Australia)
Telequebec (French/Canada)
Tfou (French/France)
EBS1 (Korean/South Korea)
Gloob (Portuguese/Brazil)
For the ones I didn’t mention here, please check this list. For the order in which to watch them, please check this guide and click on whichever country you want to see the order in which they aired them.
While there are other places where you can pirate the show, we at the Box do not recommend it because we–like Thomas, who has been asked this question before–would rather you legally support the show. If not, Miraculous Ladybug will end up like the Rise of the Guardians sequel: not happening because of how pirated and how much money was lost.
Salut! If you have been following the creation of Miraculous Ladybug, then you will know that there are four iterations of Paris’ favorite superhero, Ladybug! The first is Marietta (comics), second and third are Bridgette (Quantic Kids/PV Universe), and fourth is Marinette. Please note that “Bridgette” is a fan name; the Quantic Kids and PV Universes have Ladybug’s official name as “Marinette Cheng.” This post is about everything Bridgette and PV Universe, made in conjunction with the Félix post.
Who is Bridgette?
“Bridgette” is the fan name for the second iteration of Ladybug’s civilian form. Unlike with Félix, her name is not officially recognized which means she doesn’t have a page for herself on the Wikia and all that can be found about her on Marinette’s page is in the trivia section. Since her name was chosen by fans and no official name was given to her, Bridgette does not have a last name. Some sources and early synopses of the show give Bridgette the last name of “Cheng,” but it is unknown if Bridgette even lived in a bakery. Likewise, the ethnicities of both her parents are also unknown. However, based on concept art of Marinette’s room, it can be assumed both of her parents were Chinese.
Bridgette willingly wears the Ladybug earrings and enjoys being Ladybug. Like with the Chat Noir, Ladybug’s good luck leaks out into Bridgette’s daily life. Bridgette also fights more with hand-to-hand combat than with the actual yo-yo. Her power of good luck cannot be used for her own gain, or else something bad will happen to her.
Personality
Bridgette is really easy-going. Whenever bad luck comes her way, she rolls with it. She is very bold, as seen whenever she advances on Félix. She can be easily discouraged. However, she tends to bounce back from this quickly, usually filled with determination on winning his heart. From a glance at her outfit, Bridgette is very open, meaning that she is very approachable. The strand of hair on top of her head tends to move with her emotions, much like Chat Noir’s tail.
Outfit
As Bridgette, she has two outfits. For her first outfit, she wears a black three-quarter-length blazer, a white button up, and rolled up shorts. For her second outfit, she wears her blazer, but the inside is lined in white with red spots. It appears that she wears a white shirt with red spots underneath. Her earrings are constantly red with five black spots. In her room, she has several hats which she could wear on occasion.
As Ladybug, her outfit differs greatly from the current Marinette’s; while red, only a handful of spots cover her torso and back. Two spots are on both of her upper arms, but the rest of her arms are red. The back of her right leg has one spot on it; the rest of her legs are entirely red. Her mask is a more orange color compared to the rest of her outfit. With her much longer hair comes much longer hair ribbons which trail out behind her. They are the same color as her mask. Her yo-yo is different as well; the string is beaded.
When switching over to CGI, the creators played with the idea of Bridgette having red tips on the ends of her pigtails. These tips would stay when she transforms into Ladybug. This idea was scrapped because Bandai was having difficulty putting the red tips on dolls.
There’s also some amazing concept art designs which aren’t used for either Bridgette or Marinette.
Félix
Bridgette actively stalks Félix. At any opportunity she has, she will watch him, follow him, or try to get him to go with her to someplace. Every time, Félix rejects her.
Please note that Bridgette is far more likely to go to Félix’s house as Ladybug for some Lélix moments than Marinette is to go to Adrien’s for Ladrien moments. While Félix would jump on these moments to be free of the Cat Miraculous, he won’t be so welcome to her when he falls in love with her (since he won’t want to lose the Miraculous and the time he spends with her as Chat Noir). It will hurt them both.
Chat Noir
Ladybug doesn’t seem to care at all for Chat Noir. She turns down all of his advances and doesn’t like being in a partnership with him. His over-the-top romantic gestures do not please her. Chat Noir’s bad luck also messes with her fighting. Method Animation’s synopsis of the show states that she would be the most powerful superhero if Chat Noir’s bad luck stopped interfering with her powers.
Active AUs
In the following AUs, Bridgette exists on the whim of the writer/artist.
The Twins AU does not always have Bridgette in it, but when she does exist, she usually is Marinette’s cousin who stays with Marinette. In the versions I have seen, it is impossible for Marinette to hide the secret of her being Ladybug from Bridgette. Bridgette exists on her own away from Marinette, and the way that Bridgette is treated by certain characters differs at times from how Marinette is treated. For example, Chloé doesn’t hate Bridgette as much as she hates Marinette since Bridgette isn’t going after Adrien.
The Siblings AU is one where Bridgette could theoretically exist, but this has not caught steam with the rest of the fandom. In the very few fanarts I have observed since fanfiction and headcanons don’t exist in the mainstream yet, Bridgette is much older than Marinette and is one of the only people Félix can stand. (He barely tolerates Marinette in comparison with Bridgette and the rest of the world.)
These are not all of the AUs that exist with Bridgette; these are just the most popular. There are some occasions where Bridgette is the previous Ladybug a generation ago, or that she is Ladybug in the next generation. The idea of an AU, an alternate universe, is that nothing has to be canon and that everything can changed. We here at the Box are not trying to force your fanfiction writing to be anything less than you want it to be. We’re just trying to provide accuracy in certain aspects of your writings.
I'm sorry if i'm being annoying by asking this but i'm kinda new to this fandom and i saw another version of the miraculous ladybug,an anime. Is the anime version still going to be released when the 3D ends or there is no chance of seeing that?
Salut, new Miraculer! I can explain this easily. You are referring to this, right?
So, in 2012, Toei worked with ZAG Animation, and what was created was the Miraculous Ladybug PV. This version had Félix and the Marinette that the fans love calling “Bridgette.” In this version, the Miraculouses were stuck to the kids, and Hawk Moth was known as “Butterfly.” Even though his name literally translates to that from French, they called him “Butterfly” and not “Papillon.” It is much darker than the 3D CGI show and was intended for teenagers. There is no chance of ever seeing this come to light; the creator, Thomas Astruc, hated Félix. Paraphrasing Astruc, “Félix was not a believable character.” The dynamic of Félix as Chat Noir and Bridgette as Ladybug was difficult to write. (For more on Félix, click here and here.)
That doesn’t mean that there won’t be an anime version of Miraculous Ladybug. Recently, Jeremy Zag announced that Toei was working with ZAG animation again to make a Japanese OVA. This version will use Adrien Agreste and Marinette Dupain-Cheng. This is all we know about it.
STOP MURDERING KITTENS. THIS POST IS MADE TO SAVE THE KITTEN POPULATION IN THE WORLD FROM YOU MONSTERS. If you have a question, ask us and not the Hawk Father.
Every time you ask Thomas Astruc about Félix, a kitten dies. That said, ask us, or check here.
Aside from the above, this post is made to explain Félix more than fanfiction writers make him. You all make him way too kind and nice for his own good.
Who is Félix?
Félix was the original Chat Noir. Before our beautiful banana sunshine cat child came to exist, we had an espresso cat child (originally seen here). He is the cliche anime character, always cold to the protagonist. He was tricked by Plagg into wearing the Cat Miraculous and will do anything to get rid of it. In this universe, the PV universe, the Miraculouses are stuck to their users and the powers of the Miraculouses affect their holders outside of being transformed. For example, Félix has bad luck every single day because of Plagg.
ALSO CHAT NOIR HAS TOE BEANS IN THIS UNIVERSE. I REPEAT, CHAT NOIR HAS TOE BEANS.
Personality
Félix is cold. He does not like people at all whatsoever. If it walks on two legs and speaks a human language, he hates it. If you take a look at his clothes, you will notice that they are all dark colors and cover him very much. A close observation reveals that the black sleeves of his shirt cover the bases of his hands which is just so cute. This means that Félix is a very closed person, or that he is hiding something.
Félix resents being Chat Noir. As Chat Noir, he is very cat like. He does not care about saving Paris, just saving himself. Some speculate the reason that Plagg chose Félix is because of how Félix would combat the bad luck outside of being Chat Noir; whenever Félix becomes emotional (i.e. angry, annoyed), he confines his emotions and does not let them take control. This would lead to more focus on whatever task is at hand. It is speculated that Plagg has gone through many Chat Noirs who have become over excited about being a hero, leading to their untimely demises due to lack of control over the bad luck. If Plagg doesn’t want to lose any more kittens, it makes sense that he would pick someone with much control over his emotions.
Please note that when writing Félix becoming less cold/falling in love/having a complete personality change, he will have to go through a major story arc where he can see the errors of his ways and that he has the right to be more open than he is.
Outfit
Q: Why are you putting an outfit section on here? Doesn’t the Wikia have that?
A: No, it doesn’t because I’m the one who came up with the appearances sections and no one has touched the Quantic Squad since long before I became Admin. Note to self: edit all of the QS’s pages.
As Chat Noir, his outfit is entirely black, obviously. His suit is even more form-fitting than Adrien’s. (Félix has an eight-pack. Félix is absolutely shredded.) His belt tail wraps around his waist twice, criss-crossing in an “x” in the front. He has a large silver belt buckle in the shape of a cat’s head. Félix’s bell is extremely large compared to Adrien’s. Félix has toe beans. EMPHASIS ON THE TOE BEANS. Félix’s hair becomes even more unruly than when he’s not transformed. It is super wavy and fluffy and gorgeous. His cat ears are entirely functional.
As Félix, there are three or so different outfits though only one is shown in the PV. His main outfit is a light-gray button up underneath a gray vest with black slacks and a black tie. In a second outfit, Félix’s clothes are the same except that he lacks the tie and the vest, wearing a windbreaker over his clothes. In his third outfit, everything is exactly the same as the first outfit, except he has a black shirt underneath the light gray one and it covers his neck.
Also, Félix’s eyes are a desaturated green. His ring is in the shape of a cat’s head with jade eyes and a ruby gem in the center of its forehead. It is completely black.
Bridgette
Félix does not like Bridgette at all. She stalks him. Whenever Bridgette tries to give him advances (such as tickets to a concert), he spurns her, or his bad luck kicks in and turns her away (such as an apple landing in her face). Use this to your advantage as comedic relief.
Ladybug
Félix doesn’t like Ladybug either. He’s only using her to get rid of his Miraculous. Since the Cat Miraculous is stuck to him and ruing his life with bad luck, his only option to be free is to have the bad luck neutralized. This would be with Ladybug’s good luck. In order to have the luck neutralized, he needs a kiss from Ladybug. He cannot just arbitrarily steal a kiss; it has to be given freely by Ladybug. The way he goes about to get this kiss is by giving her overenthusiastic, cliche, and obviously false romantic overtures, such as by giving her a rose while on one knee at the Eiffel Tower. (If you saw some of the older fans squealing when Adrien as Chat Noir gave Ladybug a rose in Antibug, this is why. Those fans have been waiting for nearly four years for that scene.) By trying to manipulate Ladybug’s emotions, Chat Noir is effectively her most dangerous enemy.
Likewise with luck neutralization, Ladybug and Chat Noir cannot work well together unless they are touching each other in some way. Chat Noir’s bad luck affects Ladybug greatly, and it can be assumed the same goes for Ladybug’s good luck with Chat Noir. Either the two of them fight together while holding onto the other one, or one of them stands off to the side, observing.
Active AUs
The Twins AU is the most popular AU where Adrien and Félix are twins. In every iteration of this AU, Félix loves Adrien; Adrien’s the only person Félix can stand. He also doesn’t like the fact that he has to go to school, but he goes anyway because he can’t stand being without Adrien. He’s very clingy.
The Siblings AU is gaining more popularity. In every iteration of this, Félix is the older brother of Adrien and is Chat Noir with a younger Marinette. (The main creator of this AU has Félix call Ladybug, “Babybug.”) Adrien doesn’t necessarily know that Félix is Chat Noir. However, Félix gives up being Chat Noir and passes it down to Adrien, training him along the way.
These are not all of the AUs that exist with Félix; these are just the most popular. There are some occasions where Félix is the previous Chat Noir a generation ago, or that he is Chat Noir in the next generation. The idea of an AU, an alternate universe, is that nothing has to be canon and that everything can changed. We here at the Box are not trying to force your fanfiction writing to be anything less than you want it to be. We’re just trying to provide accuracy in certain aspects of your writings.
In light of recent fanfics that have Marinette and Adrien become extremely injured while they are Ladybug and Chat Noir, this post exists. Please note that this post is not necessarily friendly to younger minds and is more focused towards teenagers. There are no spoilers for the Origins Episodes in this post.
First and foremost, these suits are magical and they are made of Tikki and Plagg.
What? Made of Tikki and Plagg? Whatever do you mean?
We know that no one can transform without the Miracle Stones or without the Kwami. You need both to transform.
Indestructible
Since these suits are magical, the suits are virtually indestructible. Like spandex the fabric clings to the wearer’s body; it is impossible to tear. Apologies to all you fanfic writers. Not only that, but the “Lady Wifi” episode also shows that the fabric clearly clings to the wearer’s skin, as shown when Ladybug’s mask wouldn’t come off, resulting in Marinette saying that the suit was magical.
From what we can tell, only Chat Noir’s suit can come undone without removing his transformation. This can be done by pulling the bell on his suit; it’s a zipper. According to Thomas Astruc, the zipper has no real value, but “it’s cute.” It is clear in the “Copycat” episode that it can slide though (Chat’s pocket zipper was effective).
Conversely, Ladybug’s suit can only be removed if she loses her transformation.
Invincible
What does this mean? Wherever the suit covers them, the heroes cannot be injured.
Hypothetically, the heroes can be bruised as a result of the impact of certain blows to the point where hairline fractures are possible, but this has been neither entirely confirmed nor denied. Theoretically, Ladybug’s and Chat Noir’s faces and necks can receive scratches and bruises the most, since their faces aren’t protected properly, but this has not been explored in canon, even in the “Guitar Villain” episode where Chat takes the most blows in the whole season.
The suits absorb physical blows (as seen in “Stormy Weather”) but not magical blows (as seen in “Dark Cupid” and “Timebreaker”).
According to Thomas Astruc, the suits also enhance the wearer’s current abilities, such as Marinette’s flexibility.
Tikki and Plagg
One must not forget that the suits are not ordinary superhero suits.
They’re created with the kwami who then feel everything about them. The kwami are aware of what their humans do while transformed. Plagg teases Adrien about what he said to Ladybug even though Adrien doesn’t remember it in “Dark Cupid.” Tikki chides Marinette for misusing Lucky Charm in “The Bubbler.”
A damaged suit implies a damaged kwami, so keep that in mind.
Death
So, you’re an evil fanfic writer who likes to cause his/her readers angst? Alrighty then. Going with the above implied information, there are several ways that Paris’ favorite heroes can die.
The main thing is that their lungs are not protected. Their ribs and ribcage are protected, yes, but not their lungs. So what can you do?
Drown them.
Expose them to toxic gas.
Suffocate them.
Likewise, the rest of their organs are not protected by whatever they ingest. Therefore:
Poison them.
With Chat Noir, you have an extra option: bodily harm. He has a zipper.
They are humans, even with the suits. Put them under too much pressure, like with anything else, and they will pop.
