HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE SACRED HEADWATERS OF THE AMAZON RIVER? 🌎🐠🦋 I had the honor of attending @pachamamaorg’s annual fundraiser last month, and heard firsthand from this Indigenous Amazonian how important protecting the Amazon River is... for his people and for the planet. Pachamama Alliance is doing amazing work to protect this watershed, the Amazon Rainforest, and it's people. "The Amazon River’s Headwaters play a central role in feeding hydrological cycles (the circulatory system of the planet) and are central to regulating global climate. In partnership with many other organizations, including @projectdrawdown, Pachamama is developing a plan to secure permanent protection for the Sacred Headwaters of the Amazon River region of the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador and Peru. This area is critical to protect, as it is recognized as containing the highest levels of biodiversity in the entire Amazon basin and perhaps in the whole world. I want to protect that area from any more clear-cutting and oil exploration, and my guess is, so do you. Pachamama needs $500,000.00 by the end of the year to launch their plan to protect the Sacred Headwaters of the Amazon River before it’s too late.
