Modernized TCC update:
Thinking of merging -ieng and -ing.
In both Cantonese and Mandarin, it often corresponds to -ing, and in Mandarin characters that have a retroflex initial, the i gets deleted, resulting in -əng.
However, sometimes, in Hakka, it could correspond to -iang (usually it corresponds to -in) and sometimes -eng in Cantonese.
In Cantonese, 病 and 並 are not homophones (beng6 and bing6), whereas they are in Basic TCC (bieng).
Merging the two may not be so faithful to the Hakka -iang and Canto -eng, even though a single -ing may look "more [modern] Chinese"...
If this update is adopted, <e> may or may not only appear after high front medials anymore, though that may be something more of an artificial distinction...
