Would you like some sweets?” Alexander pointed to a basket of confectioneries that he was carrying. “I got them from someone I barely know, and I honestly don’t know if they’re safe or if they’re poisoned or anything; but what’s life without some risk of literal death? Are you going to take this adventure with me?” He bit into a chocolate truffle. “It’s fucking delectable. If—like—the other stuff in here kills me, I wouldn’t even mind.”
