I have come across a website full of knitting patterns that are so incredibly up my alley. I adore modular knitting design because they're both satisfying to knit and open up such interesting designs possibilities and I don't see it done often enough. Tragically these only sold as kits which for several reasons makes buying them not at all practical for me but just look at them

I didn’t expect this.  I’ve finished the Chanterelle knit from the Schoeller and Stahl’s Fortisimma Socka Color, # 1776, “Stars and Stripes.”  In the ball it looked like it would present as medium width stripes, narrower than the ones in the ocean-wave blue sample scarf, but not particularly special in any way.  In my standard  socks, I would guess that each stripe would be about three or four…

hello, i am a new to knitting and started making a blanket by knitting diamonds. i am not sure how to combine these diamonds together. the instructions i am receiving are " when starting diamonds that are on the right edge loosely cast on 16 stitches using the long tail cast on place marker, then pick up 16 stitches along the top right hand edge can someone help me?

sounds like you’re doing a modular blanket where each piece is attached to the previous piece as you go.

the way you combine them is, you see that ‘pick up 16 stitches’? you’re picking those up along the top right hand edge of the previous diamond.

SOME MORE SAMOSA

The Samosa Vest is marching along quite nicely.  I’ve done it entirely ad hoc – no advance planning, no writing anything down (which is refreshingly liberating, for a change).  It’s been sort of sculptural, with problems worked out on the fly.  Still – there weren’t many.  Here are the front and back views:
