Zig zag by images@twiston Via Flickr: Zig zag - Known locally as 'The Blocks', the quirky, yet iconic breakwater on the outer sea wall at St Monans, is irresistible to photograph as it zig zags on its way out into the Firth of Forth. Invisible from the harbour and shore and can only be found whilst clambering onto and peering over the harbour wall, it has a magnetic charm, one can spend ages watching the sea crashing against the breakwater as long exposures work their ethereal magic. Captured on a very recent visit north of the border, fortunately timed at a high spring tide when The Blocks are at their photogenic best. Good Morning from Scotland. 

St Monans at Sunrise by Alan Jackson Via Flickr: It's been on my list for years to photograph this unusual breakwater in Fife, Scotland. However, nobody had told me you have to stand in the wind and sea spray , on a high harbour wall, to get the shot. I was joined by another photographer who told me he felt a touch of vertigo when standing on the wall. Relieved, I thought 'well its not just me then'! It was worth it though as it was such a stunning sunrise
