THAT does bother me. I always assumed that non-asura weren't allowed into the colleges for 2 reasons: the first being asura are pretty egotistical, and wouldn't believe any other race could get in, and the second is to keep the knowledge that they have within their own race to keep power. After all, the only gate workers I've seen are asura, and that's a technology I can't see them sharing freely with the other races.
