Chobani’s beautiful new logo and branding! I love the elegant wordmark, illustrations, and unexpected dark green.

Have you been keeping up with this year’s 36 Days of Type? Currently on its 4th edition, this crowd-sourced project has gained a huge following in the design community. In addition to inviting well known designers to participate, artists of all varieties are encouraged to upload their typographic creations to Instagram.

EA Creative Wallpaper Project: Pineapples & Pussycats 750 x 1334 • 1080 x 1920 • 1920 x 1080 1920 x 1200 • 2560 x 1440 • 3840 x 2400 I was inspired to create this pattern by the current jungle and pineapple print trends, and the enduring popularity of illustrated cats. I took a digital screen printing approach by initially designing on two separate color layers (teal and orange), and multiplying to create the dark green. ~stay trendy~

Having pursued a double major in design and psychology, I have always been interested in how psychology can influence our design choices. This article by Michael Abehsera explains how common psychological biases can influence us to make poor design decisions. An interesting and relatable read, that can help a designer avoid these pitfalls by increasing awareness.

I have never been a big sneaker person, but this cool animation from Adidas ZX Flux definitely got me interested. I love how Adidas shows off a variety of products in a fun, interactive way!

I really enjoy Simone Massoni’s work, especially his editorial illustrations for The New Yorker magazine. Though the color palette is restricted, he accomplishes so much through expressive line work, negative space, and a simple dotted texture. Each one of his vignettes is beautifully composed and contain clever moments.
Check out more of his editorial work here.

Last Valentines Day, Spotify created an interactive mini site, which allowed users to generate a shareable playlist with a secret message. In addition to being fun to create and easy to share, the UI animations were beautifully done, and added to the playfulness of the experience. Unfortunately the site is no longer live, but I’m hoping Spotify does something new this Valentines day!
See it on Awwwards’ Site of the Day.
