Finished these monkey's fist begleri last night when I needed something to do with my hands. 😊
They're a project I started like seven or eight years ago; made it halfway through the first knot, got interrupted and packed it away together with the mini multitool I was using in a little cloth bag at the bottom of my begleri case, and then just never picked it up again until now.
(It's VERY cool seeing that multitool again btw! I had bought two identical ones way back when, and then had packed this one away in the begleri case for all these years while its twin has been at the heart of my EDC, bouncing around in my backyard and getting used .every. .single. .day. and is now all worn down with love, Velveteen Rabbit style. 🥰)
Anyhoo, the beggles: 3mm reflective orange paracord, with four passes per axis of the monkey's fist, each of which is clenching a lead fishing sinker 10mm in diameter.
So there's quite a bit of heft to her, but not a tremendous amount; these aren't uncomfortable to use or anything.
I've left a little tail sticking out of each of the knots, which are fraying out into cute little tassels. Undecided as to whether or not I'll trim them flush
