this instantly reminded me of cat hybrid könig and horangi <3
Yes absolutely. It's always after they do something absolutely horrible though.
Horangi loves to cause shit. It's just his nature. He likes to explore too hard, you know? He likes to cause problems and find out.
Sometimes this means damage. A lot of damage. A lot of water damage after he fucks with the sink. König is horrified, but he can't stop a train in motion. He's one little cat and he knows enough about physics to know that a little maine coon is not enough to stop a hyper train going off the rails. All he can do is prepare for the worst. The worst? No crunchies at night.
When reader comes home, the downstairs neighbour has filed a complaint and an emergency plumber has been called. You're horrified to find a man bent over your sink, and when he turns and smiles, you think you're going to feint.
It's not quite clear how, but you know, from the cosmic flow of the universe, that Horangi caused this.
You're furious.
They're locked out of your room and forced to deal with the plumber alone. König is begging and crying to get in and away from the strange man while Horangi is desperately trying to 'fix' the situation.
König clobbers him, sits on him, screams at him, everything. Reader blocks him out and refuses to take his offerings. Horangi fucked up bad.
But the sink is fixed, the site's mopped up, and you're able to go back to normal. It's too difficult to stay mad when you keep getting little gifts of cute toys every morning. Also, König is starting to get violent without his treats, and you already deal with enough with one shit disturber.
So thus, a peace treaty is formed, and reader goes back to playing and giving treats and both cats are happy. Occasionally, König will still punch Hornagi as they walk down the street.
I hope you're feeling better and that your day is going okay â€ïž.
I love seeing the dynamics in the cat hybrid au with reader, Konig, and Horangi! I know they both want to share the reader, but what is their relationship like? Are they lovers, or is it a kind of fwb thing going. If so, were they together before they met reader? Like what's their history with each other đ. I would love to see how relationship dynamics is explored between hybrids and how it differs from humans.
Sorry if it sounds pressuring of me dumping all these questions đ . I adore your writing style and how you're able to characterize those two so well, especially given that all that's provided are voice lines, limited info provided by the VA's, and the character designs. Kudos to youđ. I hope both sides of your pillow are cool and that your room is just the right temperature to have the fattest nap ever. đ«¶
No no don't feel bad! Instead get mad at me for not answering asks until now! I get so bad at it. It's partially why my asks are always open. I just get to them in my own time when I can. But I always get around to it! The only thing I delete are the spam asks which are really super annoying and they make me so made oh my gosh and-
Anyways, back to some regularly scheduled CatTac
König and Horangi started off as close friends when in the lab. In all honestly, relationships were a foreign concept and heavily discouraged. However, once they were set free, they really only had each other. It took a long time, but one day, after a long day, Horangi just cuddled in with König. He shifted back to human and König followed, and Horangi kissed him. He thought König would push him away, but he didn't. It seemed that both of them needed a moment of softness.
In time, the relationship grew. König and Horangi both realize that a relationship is exactly what they need. Sometimes it tends to be more friendly, more often it's a relationship between two lovers. They act like an old married couple, with Horangi being the bossy little man bullying König into doing what he wants. But they both like it that way. Anyways, when it comes down to it, König is the one making decisions. It's very silly. Everyone thinks Horangi is the one in control, but König's the one calling the shots. It's very, very silly.
Horangi will be buzzing around, bouncing and yowling and going on about something and König can just swat him and Horangi will go dead silent. Or at least he's quiet until something else gets stuck in his head and he just has to talk about it. Now. Now please.
Reader ends up being a little bit of a gap closer between them. Horangi isn't one for physical affection, König craves it. Reader can cuddle König. Horangi really loves to yap. König's mostly silent. Reader turns out to be a great conversationalist. Reader fills the gaps they can't, and they love her all the more for it.
They sorta pass reader between them without much thought. If anything, it's up to reader to put up boundaries to give herself some peace and quiet.
Now, as to characterizing, I kinda flip flop. König has barely any character at all, so I just make it up as I go. They boy is mine. He has Activision's name but that boy is my own construction. He's got bare elements from the bio, but I really turned him into my own baby. It's very unhealthy. Activision owns him, I gave him the love he needed.
Horangi is weird. I like to focus on the party-hard fail-hard part of him. But he's also a calm and collected soldier in a PMC. He misses the silliness of his old life, which is why he's always up to mischief. However, he knows when to lock in. He's got that perfect balance of dumb fuckery and calm that I love to play with. I really do like making Horangi a guy who loves to fuck around and find out. Guy fucked around and found out hard enough to have to run from his own country. The man creates chaos wherever he goes, and he loves it.
So yeah, I fluctate on the characters. I like making them their own, outside of CoD. I really say I only write CoD in theory, but in practise they're not in character at all. It's just pure silliness over here. Don't expect grounded, lore-focused characters from me. Just silly.
König is such a little shit. I love him, but monster hybrid!König is a beast to wrangle in, even as a writer! I never know how to get him to sit still. At least Handler finally found a way to get him to stay put long enough to help him moult!

Break Down Build Up
Youâd never had too many thoughts about how important May was to you. Sure, there were some special days, but it wasnât that valuable. It was just another month in the year, after all. How could May be of any great importance?
That was what you tended to think up until König came along. Since becoming Königâs handler, May had quickly become your least favorite month of the year.
âSit still!â you grumbled, trying to balance yourself in the middle of Königâs great black wing without tugging on his feathers, âyouâve got a couple of pin feathers here that are ready to come in.â
König whined and shuffled uncomfortably. You tried to avoid gripping his feathers as you were jostled side to side.
âYou donât want me tugging on your feathers, do you?â you snapped as you managed to catch your balance again.
âBoring,â König croaked.
âBoring?â you rolled your eyes, âyeah of course itâs boring. Itâs not like Iâm having a fun time here either.â
âBoring,â König repeated.
The monster rolled you off his wings with a disgruntled caw.
You faceplanted onto the foam floor, rolling into a full somersault before sprawling akimbo on the floor. With a grunt, you managed to scrabble to your feet and gather your bearings. You glared at König, who seemed to be more than happy to take things into his own claws by flipping onto his back and rolling side to side. Today was May fifth. You had a whole month of this. You didnât know what you were doing with yourself. You thanked the heavens again that your superiors wouldnât be seeing you floundering with König. You had a couple of months until König was set to be deployed, at least.
As you watched König squirm like a mirthful puppy on the matts, you couldnât help but wonder again how this was KorTacâs prized war machine. How did they manage to keep him still enough to listen to a command? Better yet, how did they manage to wrangle him into following a command!? You were completely beside yourself by this point. You couldnât even manage to get König to so much as sit still to be preened.
Your hands fell to your sides as you tried to understand what you were doing wrong. König obliviously wormed across the floor, leaving a trail of white keratin in his wake. Youâd have to mop that up when König was finished. Well, considering what sort of diseases he carried youâd have to scrub the gym anyways. It was your responsibility to mitigate the amount of potential contaminants that could be transmitted to other soldiers. Youâd signed up for this, quite literally. You still wished you could burn the place down rather than have to try and clean it.
König skittered off to rub against a tall pillar to try and rid himself of the unholy itch that was surely driving him wild.
âIf you just let me helpâŠâ you muttered under your breath as you strode over to him.
König swatted you away with his tail.
âExcuse me!?â you scoffed as you stumbled back, âdid you just push me?â
You sighed and relented. There wasnât much you could do, was there? How were you supposed to get something the length of one and a half school busses to sit still? If König wanted to move, there was nothing you could do to get him to rest.
Or⊠Maybe you couldâŠ
Your eyes snapped open as realization dawned on you.
âHey König?â you called to the big shifter.
König stopped rubbing his back against the pillar to look at you.
âCan you stay right here? I just need to get something from the back.â
König cawed and went back to rubbing his back. Well, if that kept him occupied, so be it.
You left König to his own devices with a little nod. As you rushed down the halls, you just hoped heâd stay put long enough for you to go and grab some puzzles you found from the common room.
When youâd managed to grab a couple and head back to the gym, König was back to wriggling to and fro on his back. You whistled and bounded over to him.
âKönig!â you held up a couple of puzzles, âI found something for you to do!â
König rolled onto his front to get a better look at you. He glanced between the boxes and cawed. He slithered to your side before letting himself drop flat onto his belly. He lay his head down on the ground and glanced up at you like a moping hound dog.
âOkay, so, how long do you think itâll take you to finish these puzzles?â you asked as you put the jigsaw puzzles on the ground in front of him.
âSmall,â he grumbled, âhard work.â
âSo you think at least half an hour?â you asked hopefully.
âLonger,â König huffed, âsmall.â
You grinned to yourself as König spread out his wings to let you on. It seemed you finally had a way to keep König occupied.
Since the next fic has fully shifted Monster Hybrid!König, I figured I'd give you guys a ref for what he looks like. He's certainly a big boy, I'll tell you all that much for sure. He's probably one of the, if not the biggest shifter Kortac has on base.
Very simple Monster Hybrid!König post today. I hope you enjoy, even if the post is very short!

A Knot Undone Spills Forth Tangled Possibilities
Training with monster König did not go well. In fact, it went so far from well that youâd positively say it was horrible. You swore up and down as he chased you around the gymnasium, only stopping occasionally to loop through the rafters above like a big cat.
âKönig! Get down from there!â you yelled up overhead.
The monster only crawled around further, looking almost like a bat with how he used the talons on his big feathery wings to maneuver through the beams. His long furry tail trailed through a series of loops along the ceiling behind him.
âKönig!â you called again, your hazmat suit crinkling as you stomped your foot.
Finally, he snapped his head to look at you.
Even though you were his trainer, looking into the empty sockets of his eyes had chills crawling up your spine. He croaked out a small caw, then turned away to go back to playing with the metal beams in the ceiling.
You watched his massive body twist and turn as it wove amongst the beams above. On one hand, you were truly impressed that he was able to do it without getting stuck, but on the other hand you hadnât even managed to get his control cage on his back before he had bounced away to do his own thing.
You muttered curses under your breath as you watched him playfully swing by his tail from side to side as he chirped happily.
âI need to clean you!â you whined.
König took a moment to stop swinging. He looked at the rake by your side, then at the massive sponge and bucket on the other. Without another word, he dropped down to the floor with a reverberating thud and scrambled to your side.
âClean,â his voice sounded like a hoarse death rattle, âClean!â
You sighed as you held up the rake, âIf you stay still I can clean you.â
âClean!â he parroted again before rolling onto his back and splaying out his tattered black wings, âClean! Clean!â
You slowly trudged over to his side. You grimly noted that his feathers were rough and patchy and his black fur was tangled in thick knots. Evidently, he hadnât been able to clean himself properly since his last trainer.
âOkay, so,â you sighed heavily, âyouâve got a lot of matts. Iâm gonna need to go grab some scissors, okay?â
König whined and rolled on his back playfully.
âJust stay here,â you warned him before hurrying off to the handler equipment room.
You flicked on the lights and looked around the room haplessly. Evidently, whoever had been here before hadnât had so much as a thought of consideration as they dumped everything into a mound. All the equipment had been haphazardly thrown around recklessly. To your horror, theyâd completely jumbled all the organization of the room. What was normally a neat and tidy room had somehow turned into a muck room since you had gone to train König in the gym. How theyâd manage to undo all the careful maintenance you and your cohorts had been practicing for ages was beyond you.
You scrambled to look through the ruins. You came across collars and chains and balls and more as you searched through the piles. You had the horrible feeling that youâd never find the trimmers. How could you when the room was like this? You worried that König would be off in the rafters again if you didnât manage to find it soon.
Just as you were about to give up hope, you saw a glimmer of steel. You sighed in relief as you pushed a heating blanket aside to find the trimmers buried underneath. How you managed to find them was beyond you, a simple chance of fate, but you took it with both hands and lifted your hope and the trimmers from the pile.
You were used to making a mess by now, but something clattered to the floor when you brought the trimmers to your chest. You screwed your brows together and looked at the ground.
It was just a simple rope puzzle. It lay on the floor, tangled more than usual, but it was obviously meant for some of the more intelligent hybrids. It was just something to keep them busy. Something to keep them occupied.
Something to keep a hybrid like König occupied.
It clicked in your head. You no longer cursed whoever had wrecked the room before you. Instead, youâd bow and pray at their feet if they walked in that moment. Praise the bastard for giving you the answer to all your problems in the form of a simple puzzle.
You scurried out of the room with your new toy as quickly as you could, nearly forgetting the trimmer in your excitement.
When you made your way back to the gym, König was predictably up in the rafters again.Â
âHey!â you yelled as loudly as you could, âhey König!â
You heard a low rumble up from behind you.
You slowly turned and looked up to see König hanging upside down like a bat from the rafters, his head just a few feet above the door. You wondered how long heâd been hanging there, almost like some winged opossum.
âYou!â you yelled and held up the trimmers, âcome down here so I can clean you!â
König chuffed and crawled up his body to get back into the rafters. You huffed and puffed as he weaseled his way through the beams to get away from you.
âHey!â you yelled at his retreating form, âwait, get back here!â
âNo.â
You ignored the shivers up your spine when he spoke, a natural side effect of the nachtkrappe voice, and charged after him. You crashed across the runway, your hazmat suit crinkling like a paper bag with each and every single one of your movements. You could probably be heard from the other side of the gym at this rate. You shoved the thought aside and pushed forward.
âHey you ugly mutt, get down here!â you howled as you scrambled after him.
âNo!â König croaked back and swung from the rings hung from the ceiling. You couldnât help but groan. Now that he found the rings there was no way heâd be coming down soon. Not unlessâŠ
âI have something for you!â you yelled as loudly as you could. Your lungs burned with the effort as you hung your other tools by your side.
König, to his credit, at least momentarily paused at your suggestion. However the flight rings proved to be too tempting and he was soon winding round and round the red and white plastic again.
âCome on!â you complained loudly, âwe can do ringwork later, we need to clean you first!â
That got his attention, at least.
König lunged down directly at you. You squawked loudly as you threw yourself out of the way of his big grey talons. He thankfully didnât baffle you with his wings and instead curled his long tail around your legs, tripping you in the process.
You pulled yourself to your feet and brushed yourself down. The rubber suit was thankfully durable enough to withstand a bit of wear and tear, but you still checked to make sure it was intact. Youâd hate to get sick because of a small tear in the suit. Whatever nachtkrappeâs carried, you didnât want to catch it.
âOkay, so,â you pulled yourself together, âI have an offer for you.â
âOffer, offer,â König parroted as he tilted his head back and forth, the fluorescent light glinting off his tusks and horns menacingly.
âSo,â you held up the trimmers and he hissed, âstop that! Look, if you let me trim some of the matts, Iâll give you something fun.â
âFun?â König thankfully perked up.
âFun!â you repeated and held up the rope toy, âthis is just a little rope puzzle. You think you can finish it before I finish trimming you?â
König snorted out a plume of putrid smoke, âJa.â
âOoo, confident!â you chuckled as stepped closer, âwell, letâs see how well you do.â
You tossed him the rope. He struggled to catch it in his front claws on his wings, but he managed to carefully lace it through his fingers and settle on his front.
You flicked the trimmers open and sauntered over to him. You picked up the rake along the way with a smirk.
So this story did not go how I wanted. I'm not too happy with it, but I needed it done and over with. So! I hope you all enjoy some monster hybrid!König and take care!

Mischief and Mayhem
So, training didnât work either. Getting through to König was certainly turning out to be more of a challenge than expected. He was big, tall, stubborn and most of all, mischievous.
It was a trait that hadnât gone on record, and it was a crying shame it wasnât because it wouldâve helped prepare you for him. He liked to unsettle you. He relished in your discomfort. At the very least, thatâs what it seemed like. It didnât help that he had a penchant for destruction.
You first saw it when he was fiddling with a ring at lunch.
âWhatâcha got there, König?â you asked as you slid into the seat across from him.
He held examined it for a moment, almost like he didnât know himself. He held it up with a flick of his wrist, âA ring.â
âOkay I can see that,â you internally sighed, âI was asking why you had it.â
âYou said what did I have, not why did I have,â he stared at you blankly, as though it were the most obvious answer in the world. In a way, he had a point, but it still unnerved you.
You picked up your knife and fork to tuck into your meatloaf, âOkay, sure, whatever. Still, why do you have it?â
âI found it,â he replied.
âWhere?â you felt a tendril of suspicion curling in your gut.
âNot here,â he snorted.
Well, that was helpful.
You were about to ask more when a sobbing sergeant burst into the room.
You immediately snapped your head up to look at the poor man as he ran to a group of men. From the corner of your eye, you saw König tilt his head curiously. He seemed strangely interested in the scene, almost amused.Â
Something wasnât right here. König never looked interested in anybody else.
You walked over to the poor sergeant, practically beside himself with misery. He looked pathetic, and the men around him were quick to glare at you, almost as though you were violating his manhood by approaching him when he was in such a vulnerable state. You took a deep breath. You were a higher rank now, you could do this.
âUm, excuse me,â you shuffled awkwardly, âwhatâs going on here?â
âWhy do you care?â one of the men grunted.
âCanât you see him crying?â another sighed, âleave a man to grieve in peace.â
âOh, Iâm so sorry, did he lose somebody?â you asked nervously.
âNot somebody,â the first man said as he rubbed his friendâs back, âsomething. He lost his wifeâs ring.â
âHeâs been searching all day,â the second looked down sadly at his companion.
You glared back at König, who was watching you, completely still.
âI think I might know where it is,â you said slowly.
The man immediately raised his head and blubbered, âY-you do?â
âHere, follow me,â you instructed and stalked back over to where König sat.
König, for his part, looked the perfect part of innocent where he sat. His hands were tucked under the table in front of him to keep them hidden, most likely still fiddling with the ring. His big round blue eyes, downward tilted as though always sad, looked up at you as you approached with a small squad of men.
âKönig,â you crossed your arms, âgive it back.â
âGive what back?â he asked.
âThe ring. I saw you playing with it earlier,â you snapped.
âWhat ring?â König had the gall to look confused, âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
âMaâam,â a man behind you cut in, âyouâre not seriously saying the colonel has anything to do with this, are you?â
You looked back at him irritably, âIâm telling you I saw him with a ring earlier this morning.â
âIâm sorry miss, but I donât think König took it,â a man with warm sepia skin looked at you sternly, âas his handler, youâve gotta know that König isnât that kinda guy.â
âNo Iâm serious!â you whirled on the group, âI saw him with it just a few minutes ago!â you turned back to König, âalright up on your feet. Iâm finding that ring.â
König begrudgingly got to his feet before you. You instructed him to stretch out his arms before you, which he gladly did. He gave the others a knowing look before glancing back down at you as you stuffed your hands into his pockets. All that came out wasâŠ
âKönig what the fuck,â you mumbled as you pulled out the contents of his pocket.
âMen, I think Private Weiss might have what youâre looking for,â he nodded to a gruff looking man sitting at a luncheon table. Beside him sat a shining ring.
âDamn bastard,â the sergeant hissed as he jogged over to the man with the others following hot on his heel.
You watched as the sergeant punched the private square in the temple. Not a moment later, there was a brawl rolling across the floor with chairs being hurled while food flew through the air.
Meanwhile, the man with the highest authority in the room, König, stood by and watched gleefully.
You fisted the handful of Königâs pocket contents and pulled König down to your height roughly with a growl, âWhat the fuck did you do.â
âOh, Iâm so sorry,â König sighed, âI guess I must have given it back to the wrong person.â
You were fuming, moreso when König chuckled at how bright red your face slowly flushed.
König looked you up and down with an appraising eyes before shifting his weight to one foot, âYou look cute when youâre angry.â
âExcuse me!?â your eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
König stiffened, his eyes going wide before darting away from you.
âIâm sorry,â his voice was uncharacteristically small.
âI-You know what we can deal with that later. Why did you set me up like that?â you scowled.
âIâm sorry handler but you set yourself up there,â König shrugged, âbut look, wasnât that fun?â
âFun?â you scoffed, âKönig you stole a manâs wedding ring. What fucking part of that is fun!?â
âThe part where he punched Private Weiss in the face, really,â König replied blithely.
You glanced back behind you to where a few people were finally breaking up the brawl that had sprawled over the floor. When you looked back at König, he was practically glowing with mirth.
âYouâre a dick,â you spat.
König faltered briefly before steeling himself again, âSo?â
âSo?â you squawked, âso? Thatâs seriously the best you can come up with? I-â you shook your head, âlook, I canât have you doing that again. You canât be causing fights on base for your own âentertainmentâ or whatever.â
König sighed. It felt like you were punishing a petulant child rather than a grown soldier. You could hardly believe that this was actually what you were doing. You were hired to be a handler for a man, not a malicious school boy. You were really going to go bald by the end of this contract.
âSeriously,â you said, âdonât go pitting soldiers against each other. You could get dishonorably discharged for that kind of shit.â
âNobody else has figured it out,â König replied.
âWell I did. So do something else to have fun. Go play video games or whatever,â you instructed him sternly, âif I can figure it out, itâs a wonder somebody else hasnât.â
âMost people donât really pay attention to what I do,â König huffed.
You didnât know quite what to do with that. On one hand, something about the way he said it made you terribly sad. On the other, he still stole a manâs ring to start a fight.
âLook, it doesnât matter if people donât know itâs you, what matters is that itâs a shitty thing to do,â you tried to reason with him, âlike come on man. Weâre not in kindergarten anymore.â
âNein,â König muttered
âSo then act like it.â
König rolled his eyes. You hoped he got the message, but a part of you worried he would just be more secretive next time. Either way, time would tell if he actually listened or not.
For the rest of the day, life on base was unusually calm. There werenât any fights, nobody lost belongings, nobody discovered anything unfortunate in their room. Everyone seemed to be having a wonderful day.
König, on the other hand, was not.
He seemed miserable now. He was constantly under your watch to ensure he didnât get into any trouble, but it seemed to be bearing down on him. In fact, the constant observation seemed to be putting him on edge.
âKönig, do you need anything?â you asked for the umpteenth time as he sat doing his paperwork.
He glanced up at you with a bitter glare, but quickly shook his head and went back to his work.
You noted that his leg was bouncing so hard that the water on his desk was shaking. His free hand was constantly clenching into a fist, then relaxing to rub his fingertips together. Then heâd do it again, hiss, fidget, and settle again. You hadnât seen him sit still once since he sat down.
You couldnât help but wonder if this was because of you dressing him down so thoroughly that morning. You couldnât help but think about how ridiculous he was acting if this was all because of that. Any other hybrid you dealt with would take any instructions on the chin and push forward, correcting their behavior to be a better soldier. The way König was sulking was driving you up the wall.
Unfortunately for you, it kept getting worse. As the week went on, König was coming undone at the seams.
He was a wreck under your care, and you were getting worried. König wasnât acting childishly, you realized. He was acting⊠Anxious. Why was he so anxious? How was it that this big hulking soldier flinched when spoken to? It was completely bizarre.
Worst of all was the call you got from the higher ups.
âYouâre a damn handler,â the man on the line spat, âfigure it out! If he keeps going like this, I promise you Iâll personally assign you to the lowest ranking infantryman on base.â
âIâm sorry sir,â you stammered, âI donât know why heâs been like this!â
âWell, figure it out!â
The line went dead, leaving you holding the heavy landline phone in a limp hand. Dread washed over you at the thought of reassignment. Was König really getting that out of hand?
That night, you went online to your discord group. Somebody had to know what was happening. You sent a message to your fellow handler friends and waited for a response.
âWhat hybrid type is he?â one user asked.
âHave you read his medical files? Maybe you should read them over again,â another person offered.
You had his file spread out before you, but nothing stood out. Everything seemed normal. The only detail that caught your eyes was a simple black block label under his psychological profile: SEVERE SOCIAL ANXIETY.
It wasnât much, but at least it helped you understand. Something about what you did caused Königâs anxiety to flare up. Was it how you spoke to him? Was it what you said? What had caused the flare up?
You sighed and leaned your head into your hands.
Nothing about this was making sense. König was an enigma of a man. Whenever you tried to talk to him, heâd grunt at you or give you one to two word answers. Somehow, heâd actually regressed under your care. You could scream. How had you fucked up so badly?
You pulled out books on hybrid types, trying to analyze the pages for anything that could explain Königâs recent behavior change. Unfortunately for you, nothing came up. Long nights of pouring over old texts and messaging your friends were fruitless. It was a maddening cycle.
Youâd get up, join König at breakfast, watch him regress over the course of the day, then come back to your room to read and search for answers that never came. The worst of it was that the longer you floundered, the worse König got.
You joined him in the gym, the only place König seemed to wake up again.
You watched him swing from ring to ring in the gym above you as you watched below. König was like a different man in the gym. All the boredom and anxiety left his system when he was doing something active. As soon as the thought passed your mind, it clicked.
König was bored. Painfully bored.
But if he was bored and without an outlet for his anxiety, what could you provide? Nothing in his notes gave any ideas. All they mentioned were an inordinately high IQ matched with an impressive physique. He was the perfect super soldier. He was honestly somewhat intimidating not based on his size, but rather his sheer capabilities.
You needed to learn more about him, but he kept giving you such short answers that you wanted to strangle him.
When König finally trudged over to you for water, you stopped him from leaving.
âHey, König, do you have a sec?â you asked, trying to be as gentle as possible.
Despite you efforts, he was rolling his eyes as he turned to you.
âSo, um, howâve you been feeling lately?â you watched him carefully for any expressions.
âMeh,â he grunted.
âOkay but, like, what does that mean?â you could feel your hair turning white on your skull.
König shrugged awkwardly, eyes darting to find an exit opportunity but he was unfortunately trapped with you.
âYou looking forward to tonight?â you tried to excite him.
König squinted at you, âWhatâs happening tonight.â
âWeâre training your shifted form, remember?â your frown squirmed on your face.
Königâs expression fell into one of horror, âNo? Why are we doing that?â
âBecause I need to get used to your form, remember?â you awkwardly chuckled, âwhy, is there a problem?â
König shifted his weight from foot to foot, thinking carefully before he finally said, âSometimes itâs harder to control impulses when Iâm shifted.â
You crossed your arms over your chest and leaned back, âWhat sort of impulses?â
âAchâŠâ König hissed as he rose and slumped back, âI⊠I have impulses. You told me I couldnât act on them.â
âWait,â you threw up a hand, âyou mean the thing about hurting people?â
âNo, itâsâŠâ König wobbled side to side, âI like to be entertained.â
You nodded slowly. You were grateful he was opening up, but something seemed wrong about what he was trying to say.Â
You continued onwards, âSo what does that mean?â
König sighed and turned. You were about to grumble when you saw him curl a finger, gesturing for you to follow. You obliged, walking over to a bench to sit beside him. He looked so heavy, almost as though the weight of him and his feelings on the bench would make the metal crumple at any moment. You perched delicately beside him, nervous of what was to come.
âWhen I âhurtâ people, itâs fun because I get to⊠I get to make a game,â he explained, âitâs fun. I set up a scenario, and then I watch it play out. Itâs strategy, ja?â
You nodded slowly as you attempted to follow along.
âI just get so bored on basse. Thereâs nothing to excite me, keep me stimulated,â he explained, âso messing around and setting up dominoes to watch them fall makes me feel⊠Accomplished. Like I did something. And itâs funny! Itâs funny to watch them struggle!â
You leaned forward to put your chin in your fist, a bit blown away but what König was saying. On one hand, it made sense. He was far too intelligent for his own good, so it made sense heâd constantly be searching for stimulation. It also made sense that König would take joy in setting up scenarios and watching them play out. He was a colonel, he was used to playing with peopleâs minds.Â
Of course, that didnât mean you could let König continue to run rampant on base. Heâd been nothing short of a menace, and youâd noticed that most people on base seemed to relax in the past few days. But of course, Königâs personal performance had suffered with the ban on pulling practical jokes. And fundamentally, the health and wellbeing of your hybrid was of utmost importance to your career (and your mental sanity), so unfortunatelyâŠ
You sighed, already regretting what you were about to say.
âAlright, so, if the impulses are hard to control, how about we make a deal?â
König immediately perked up. He swung his clothed head to face you, the first time heâd actively looked at you in ages.
âA deal?â he asked in the politest tone youâd heard since youâd started talking to him.
âWhat about,â you hissed through your teeth, âwe put some caps on these pranks. No more emotional torture, okay?â
König huffed, âWhat I did wasnât emotional torture, it was just light ribbing.â
âKönig.â
He rolled his eyes and sighed dramatically, âIf you really must. I will not make people cry, does that sound good enough?â
You pulled your lips into a line, but you gave him a cautious nod.
âWunderbar,â he nodded, âthen I get to play my games again?â
âHold on just a sec,â you interrupted quickly, âyou gotta put a cap on it. Iâm letting you pull one stunt a day, alright?â
König bristled, âOne?â
âOne.â
König hummed and hawed over it for a moment, then gave in with a sigh, âAlright, one. I can manage with that. It will⊠It will take the edge off.â
You frowned, âOkay so, your big thing is you like making and solving problems, right?â
König nodded.
âWellâŠâ you thought carefully, âokay, so, tomorrow Iâll get you a book. Today? I guess Iâll just have to deal with whatever you give me, rihgt?â
König nodded solemnly, âIâm afraid you might. Iâm sorry about that.â
âSo does that mean youâre going to throw me orâŠâ
âI justâŠâ König snorted, âI might be a bit of a handful. Nothing bad, but not easy, you understand?â
You grimaced, âI think so.â
You had the horrible feeling tonight, training with König would be absolutely miserable. The worst part? You knew you were right.
So this is just a little continuation of the first part of the monster hybrid story. König is a nightmare to write introductions for because he cannot introduce himself well for the life of him. It really doesn't help that he's always terribly rude with introductions. Unless he's actively chosen reader, he's always so mean when he's first introduced! I need to spray him with a water bottle.

Headaches Split My Skull, Stop Talking
You stood beside Lieutenant General Haus, the same man whoâd given you Königâs files earlier. You glanced up at the older man, brushing his moustache with one hand while watching the numbers tick by above. You watched the countdown with him until you hit the desired floor.
You followed Lt-Gen Haus down the pristine hallway to a room with a red door. Stepping through, you were cowed by the man you saw.
Half jotunn was never more apparent. The man was a giant of a man, easily eight feet tall while still crouching. He was big, burly and powerful as he stared deep into your soul.
âCnl. Leichenberg! So good to see you,â Hausâs voice boomed in the cramped room.
âLieutenant General Haus,â the man nodded from beneath his massive hood.
âIâm here to introduce you to your new handler today,â the lieutenant general took a seat across from your new charge. He was completely at ease in the giant manâs presence, unlike you. You didnât even hear your name being said until the general turned to look at you.
âYes sir?â you asked meekly.
âI was asking if youâre willing to sign,â the general pointed at the paper and pen set out in front of you.
âOf course sir,â you replied, quickly picking up the pen and jotting down your name.
âCnl. Liechengerg? Will you please sign the contract?â Haus turned the page with the pen expertly.
The man nodded and jotted down his name with an aggressive flick of his massive hand, nearly breaking the fountain pen in the process. The lieutenant general waved the paper twice before tucking it back into his manilla folder with a smile.
âWell, I know that normally you have a rather busy schedule, but both your schedules have been cleared for the next hour,â Haus looked at both of you with his warm blue eyes, âIâm sure youâre both experienced enough, but we still encourage you to take the time to get to know each other a bit better. After all,â he turned to you, âyour duties as handler extend beyond your monsterâs normal schedule. You are expected to attend to each of Cnl. Liechenbergâs needs. And Cnl. Liechenberg,â he turned to address the giant man, âI know you've heard it before, but it needs to be emphasized that youâre expected to ensure the safety of your handler, both on and off the field. Now,â Haus drummed his fingers on the table, âIâm expecting you to be back for training with Cnl. Liechenberg this evening, but I think weâve covered all the necessary bases?â
Seeing no disagreements, the lieutenant general dismissed the two of you to leave you to your own devices. You wished heâd stay, as the man terrified you.
Youâd never been afraid of a hybrid before, not like this. Normally, if you feared a hybrid it was due to the monstrous form they took during training. Youâd never dealt with a hybrid of such a high rank before, and youâd never before cowered in your monsterâs presence. Cnl. Liechenberg was a different sort of creature altogether.
âSo, um, do you wanna join me for a coffee?â you offered politely.
âI hate coffee,â his voice was pitchy and scratched on your ears.
âOh, um,â you thought for a moment, âhow about lunch? Not at the canteen, but at that little cafe nearby? You know, not the one in the fort but out on the base?â
The man glared down at you with ice-cold blue eyes, a sharp contrast to Lt.-Gen Haus. Without being able to see his face, all you could think about was how the man looked like he wanted to crush you to dust in his palm.
âOkay.â
You found your way to the small cafe. There, you met up with König outside and tried to hold a one-sided conversation before you gave up and followed him inside. As soon as the barista looked up and saw you both, you felt a sudden surge of dread.
âKönig? Whatâre you doing here?â the woman leaned against the counter in the empty store.
The man gave no reply. If nothing else, at least he wasnât singling you out with his cold reception.
Instead of greeting the woman, he stood beneath the counter and looked up.
âI wantâŠâ he thumbed at what was probably his chin under that hood, âa mediterranean wrap, a grilled cheese panini, two cups of americano with a side of cream, and a slice of carrot cake.â
The woman sighed, âDo you want the soup with that?â
âYes.â
âWhy do I ask,â you heard the poor woman mutter as Cnl. Liechenberg strode off to sit at his table of choice, leaving you to stand with the barista.
âYou deal with him often?â you asked nervously.
The woman flicked her dark ponytail over her shoulder as she faced you, âWho, König? Not really.â
âYou sounded like you knew him,â you commented lightly before leaning in close, âlook, Iâm his new handler. Can you give me any pointers? I feel like Iâm talking to a brick wall here.â
âOh donât even bother trying with him,â the woman waved a tanned hand at you, âthereâs no way youâre getting through with him. Heâs just⊠König.â
You nodded carefully, then gave your order and joined Cnl. Liechenberg at his table.
âSo,â you slid into the seat across from him, âCnl. Liechenberg-â
âKönig.â
You paused and looked up at the man, âKönig?â
âCall me König,â a pause, âeveryone does.â
âAlright, so, König! You come here often?â you chirped.
The man shook his head curtly.
âReally! The barista seemed to know you, at least,â you chuckled, âmust be nice being a regular, right?â
König wasnât paying you any attention. He was fully absorbed by what the barista was making.
You looked out the window beside you, âLooks like you chose a nice spot here. You can even see the duck pond from here!â
König nodded absentmindedly.
âDo you ever go to look at the ducks?â you asked, âtheyâre pretty cute. Oh, you know that a few of the ducks had babies, right? If you want, when weâre finished here we can go check it out if we still have time.â
König barely reacted, if at all. Was he even breathing? Youâd have to check his file again about thatâŠ
âSometimes I like to go and check on the ducks when I have a chance. I donât have a lot of time, but itâs a nice break from life on base,â you could hear yourself babbling on listlessly but you couldnt' stop yourself, âthereâs usually a bunch of people in the park, but if you go just about an hour before the sunset you can get some time to sit down on a bench and think. I sometimes take a few peas with me if theyâre served for dinner, but never bread. You know youâre not supposed to feed ducks bread, right? Itâs not good for them! Itâs better to give them cut up veggies or something.â
König didnât say a word. He didnât even give you so much as a glance to acknowledge you as you went on your spiel. A part of you couldn'tâ believe how incredibly rude König was.
âThereâs also a pair of swans, if youâre interestedâŠâ you trailed off.
Nothing you were saying was getting through to this guy.
âDo you know if our schedules will be synced up?â you asked, âso we can go and see the ducks together.â
König finally reacted by giving you a half hearted shrug.
âAre you sure? With my other hybrids Iâve always been synced, but I dunno if itâs gonna be the same way with you. Was it like that with your other handlers?â you asked.
König gave you a small nod.
âOh great! So when we get our schedules next we should be synced up! That means we can go to the duck pond together!â
König was less than disinterested.
You sighed and sat back in your chair. It was only day one and you were already tired of trying. It was like he was going out of his way to refuse and and all attempts to communicate. How the hell did any of his handlers talk to him before? You could only imagine how somebody helped him.
âAlright, here you guys go,â the barista came with a tray to set down your plates in front of you. You noted that Königâs share of the table was quickly overtaken as his meals spread onto your side of the table. You thanked the barista, noting how König barely even acknowledged her presence.
The way König acted as though he was better than everyone around him set you on edge. By technicalities, you were his superior, and yet he didnât bother listening to you once. A part of you wanted to pull the rank card, but youâd hate for the relationship to start on such a sour note. Another part of you was furious. No other hybrid you dealt with had ever pushed you this far this quickly. Then again, youâd never dealt with a hybrid of this rank before. It was maddening how he refused any sort of interaction.
âLooks good,â you commented as König picked up his wrap.
König nodded and took a bite. He chewed quietly and set the wrap back down.
You set to work on your own meal, small in comparison to Königâs smorgasbord. You picked away at it, antsy with how youâd be dealing with König.
You took a bite and smiled, âIâm glad we came here. I forgot how good the food is here.â
König nodded silently.
You sighed. This would be a long contract, wouldnât it?
For my monster hybrid au I wrote up a sheet on Soap! I don't make much content for him, but I really enjoyed making this sheet! I also like to think that Johnathan is always in Johnny's head, but only has a form when shifted. Johnathan can get a bit huffy about this sometimes.
Either way, enjoy monster hybrid!Soap as a nuckelavee!
@yune1337 I know you wanted to be tagged, so here's the Soap one!
