Ge..Ge! GeGeGe no Ge!

This place is amazing. Yokai. Everywhere. Been wanting to come here forever.

I was here for two days, and on the first night after I had dinner at this restaurant my Airbnb host reserved for me I went out exploring the street at night and the ambience of the road was shrouded in an eerie (but fun!) ambience. There were street projectors that showed shadows of the yokai that faded in and out, speakers that made dripping and geta clacking noises, and various blue and red lights that flash along with the speakers.

There is this *hidden* cafe I went to called the GeGeGe no Yokai Paradise and the place is so cool!

I got a GeGeGe no Frappucino

They got Ittan Momens adorning the ceiling.

The road I traveled here was really chilly! Like it rained and hailed on and off most of the day, and by the time it was time to get dinner the wind blew so hard it turned my Airbnb host’s umbrella inside out.

So when I was deciding on dinner I saw an advertisement for what looked like squid bowl it was at a restaurant that I saw was closed so I was all “awww”, so when I went up the street to one of the souvenir stores to thaw out (it was like 33 degrees F it was that cold!) one of the employees gave me a fried squid on a stick and told me about a restaurant called Donyo. I went to the restaurant and to my surprise they had the very squid bowl I was looking at!

This restaurant was so nice.

Anyway after dinner I explored Mizuki Road one last time before it was time to go back to my Airbnb. I wanted to stay out til 10pm because I was told that was when all the Yokai really come out (and nevermind it was the night of a full moon!) but it started to get really cold and rainy so I was just decided to call it a night.

The next morning before I left my Airbnb I got to watch this

(prolly the second time I got to watch this while it was on televised syndication too!)

My host was too awesome to me, he not only got me a restaurant reservation when I arrived, he gave me a voucher for a free breakfast at the cafe next door!

Anyway, I got on the train to the Yonago Airport and took a flight back to Tokyo because all I know is I was not going to take 8 hours worth of trains across Japan cuz I had to meet Andrew at the Tokyo station to go to our last Airbnb.

Longacres Relic

Longacres Racetrack is long gone. Due to falling attendance the property was sold to Boeing and demolished in the early 90s. It was originally built on the outskirts of Renton, Washington in the 1930s. It had a great run but now there is very little left of it. Most folks assume it is all gone except some old parking areas and building foundations. You can see the old track in google photos still…
