A tasty and eerie popcorn mixture ideal for Halloween movie evenings. It's hard to resist this monster-inspired treat made of chocolate, festive candies, and sweet caramel.
Ingredients: 12 cups popped popcorn. 1 cup candy corn. 1 cup pretzel sticks, broken in half. 1 cup Halloween-themed M&M's. 1/2 cup unsalted butter. 1 cup brown sugar, packed. 1/4 cup light corn syrup. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 cup mini marshmallows. 1 cup chocolate chips.
Instructions: Set oven temperature to 250F 120C. Popcorn, candy corn, pretzel sticks, and M&Ms with a Halloween theme should all be combined in a big mixing basin. Put aside. Melt butter in a saucepan over a medium heat. Add salt, corn syrup, and brown sugar and stir. Bring to a boil while stirring all the time. Boil for four to five minutes without stirring. Take the saucepan off of the burner and mix in the vanilla extract and baking soda. Be careful, as the mixture will bubble up. After adding the caramel mixture to the popcorn mixture, gently toss to ensure even coating. Arrange the coated popcorn onto a pair of parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake for 45 minutes in a preheated oven, stirring every 15 minutes to make sure the coating is uniform. Take it out of the oven and leave it on the baking sheets to cool completely. In a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave, melt chocolate chips for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until smooth. After the popcorn has cooled, drizzle it with melted chocolate and quickly top it with mini marshmallows. Break the popcorn into clusters, but first let the chocolate set. Enjoy your Monster Munch Popcorn after serving!
