By the last day of the trip I woke up hungover, unprepared, and needing to check out by 11am. The previous night had been nice, fun conversation, the bar was nice and trendy, and the drunk shawarma might have changed my brain chemistry too. We arrived in Montreal four days ago; on Thursday, excited and tired after driving five hours up from Boston. That night all I had the energy for was dumplings and settling in. Friday was spent eating bagels, poutine, and meeting puppies in thrift shops. Apparently I had been too tired to go out again because sometime around 3am I woke up to my friend banging on the door, checking on me since i'd accidentally gone MIA (slumped in bed.)

So by the time Saturday night came around, it was already our first and final hurrah in Montreal. It was nice, with fun conversation, the bar was nice and trendy, and the drunk shawarma definitely have changed my brain chemistry too. The only thing I felt was happiness and freedom by the time I tucked into bed.

Canada, I was in you.
