Do you have any sci fi podcast recs that really focus on the science? Like the beginning of second star to the left, among the stars and bones, and tides. Just researchers excitedly describing alien worlds, new species, that sort of thing. Like I'm just as into it for the worldbuilding as the plot, if not more.

Ohh this is a good question. Those are my go-to recs for that, and I’m having a hard time coming up with more. Micro-cosmos has some of this energy. Ars Paradoxica and woe.begone both take the time-travel mechanics of their respective worlds and run with them, delving into a fascinating number of permutations and applications, but that’s more of an engineering direction more than a natural/social-science direction.

(If fantasy and magical worldbuilding is up your alley, Unseen is an anthology show in an urban fantasy world where each episode tells a story that explores a new facet of the world; I would call it worldbuilding-focused, though absolutely not in a science direction.)

Jaskier gasping sharply as the knife he’s using to gut the rabbit for the dinner slips and catches the palm of his hand.

Geralt rushing over the moment he smells blood, checking Jaskier all over, trying not to panic.

Spotting the wound on Jaskier’s elegant hand, a horrible red gash in his beautiful soft skin, and Jaskier makes a self-deprecating comment and he’s smiling wryly but it’s slightly pained, and Geralt can’t stand to see him like that.

Ripping a bandage from the bottom of his shirt without thinking about it, knowing only that he can’t bear to see Jaskier hurt. Cupping his hand with care, stroking the back of his hand to soothe him, assuring him that he’ll be safe, that Geralt will look after for him.

Softly, tenderly wrapping his hand in the bandage, giving him a quiet smile of reassurance. The skin of his inner arm warm and smooth beneath his fingers. As he ties the bandage off his eye is caught by Jaskier’s exquisite wrist, the alluring lines of the forbidden.

Spurred by a moment of madness, pressing a kiss to the skin there, lips touching this place of highest intimacy. The little gasp Jaskier makes when he does, the ways his cheeks colour, pink and warm and compelling.

I just saw a good friend tag about "twink baiting the fandom" and how Twitter is going mad over him already. It's... hmm. Yeah. I joked about it, sure. But I wasn't going to write him off completely because of his build. You can do a lot with make up and presence, but... fuck.

What a hugely unrecognisable interpretation of the character thus far.

The magic bakery sounds interesting. What's going on there?

Magic Bakery is a soft and gentle story in which Juniper, a twenty-something who is getting a late start at adulthood, is hired at a tea shop owned by a new-wave occult lady, Meira. It’s a night baking job, Juniper enjoys it a lot, and starts crushing on one of the regulars-- a book appraiser named Avery. everyone is kinda spooky and the community is nice, even if Juniper doesn’t understand it.

but then PLOT TWIST. at the end of the first act, Juniper is doing a night baking shift by himself at the shop when a spooky monster comes and tries to kill him. Avery arrives just in time to use real magic to banish it. turns out, magic is real, there’s a series of magical murders going on, and juniper now has to get a crash course in this hidden community.

So I'm patreon clueless and not sure what the difference is between mothballing and deleting. If I pay the $5 (a very reasonable price), does that mean I always have access to the stories? Or would I have to download them quickly before it all disappears on Dec 31st? I don't mean to sound like I'm pressuring in one direction or another, I'm just legitimately confused.

I have no idea what the difference is. 

I believe this should have gone to @monstersandmaw, who has been regularly alerting her followers that her Patron would be shutting down by the end of the calendar year for months (thus, ample time to get one’s fill of her excellent Patron-only content.)
