MOONOVERSUN’s “Girls / Boys”
For fans of Charli XCX, Grimes, SOPHIE, Icona Pop, Marina and the Diamonds, Tove Lo, Hannah Diamond.
“MOONOVERSUN is relentlessly hyper-glitch-pop in the same groove as SOPHIE. Listening some of their music reminds me of early Grimes combined with a lil bit of Charli XCX. It’s future forward nostalgic circa late-2000s.” - @glitterallyhaus

PINPAL11 | MOONOVERSUN - Flux
2016 has been a year of (ch-ch-ch-)changes. You know that, we don’t expect you need to read another line written about it. So instead we’ve got something for you to wrap your ears around; the appropriately titled and brilliant sounding Flux from Brighton based MOONOVERSUN.
The song was created over the course of six months, scattered between bedrooms and eventually finished in a studio. In Flux, MOONOVERSUN smash together garbled electronics, languid beats and lo-fi, improvised vocals to create something that hovers just on the borders of the familiar. The subtle, hidden melodies certainly give the sense that this is pop music, but it’s an unsettling kind of pop; the beats don’t always keep up, dissonance nudges its way inbetween the harmonies and it’s not always clear what’s a vocal line and what’s a synth. Turn and face the strange.
Flux is released 30.12.16 as a 1″ pin badge (with download code) and is available to order from here. Follow MOONOVERSUN and keep an eye out for a visual treat from Pedro Takahashi & Sam Hawkins dropping in early 2017.
