Principles of Magnetism is the actual light of my life, I owe you a gigantor comment on it. But just. Yeah. Fucking hell man!!!!
too kind too kind <3
one of the reasons i have such a good time with that fic is that people like it! not just because i get compliments (not to downplay that - if you were told in school that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell you were lied to bc it’s compliments) but because like where else are you gonna find people who share your sense of humor so precisely that we’re all sitting here like “james fitzjames and francis crozier from that tv show a year ago and/or that historical tragedy being forced into a marriage that victorian society not only accepts but actively encourages is some funny shit that i’ll devote some of my free time to, yes sir”
it’s absolutely wild. every time i write something i think is funny and snicker meanly to myself and someone catches it in the comments i just feel. so privileged. we few, we happy few.

i'm proud of you!

I say not only frame it, but get the gaudiest gold frame you can and put it somewhere where you write to remind you that now that the first rejection is behind you, your forward momentum is only just beginning. (Also, buy a matching frame for that first acceptance letter you get, because you know it's coming at some point!)

did they give you feedback at all? And yes I agree with everyone else, you're in the trenches now!!
semperama replied to your post “guess who got their first rejection from a publisher! aaaahhh writing...”
That means that you 1. created something, and 2. were brave enough to send it to a publisher, which means you've done more than 99% of people! You SHOULD frame it! <3
thanks, team! their feedback was that they’d like to see other submissions, but that one was a no-go. imho rude, cause I specifically wrote a very cute dog into that story and honestly I’m offended on sadie the bloodhound’s behalf.
now onto Operation Figure Out Plan B, which looks a heck of a lot like Operation Lay Here And Stare At The Ceiling. but yes. onwards, wherever that might be
what are you taking? most med side effects subside in a week to 10 days, so hopefully the drowsiness lessens soon. <3
AH YES MY MEDICAL EXPERT BOO. I’m taking Paxil… I started at 5MG for the first week and just bumped up to 10MG on Tuesday, so I’m about a week and a half in (but just a few doses in on the new dosage).
I’m just hoping it fucking works. The first three days I noticed a really positive change, then I backslid considerably.. and yesterday was a shitshow, mood-wise. Today was way, way better. I felt really stable. Just trying to hang in there.
The good news is that I no longer have my inner stigma about taking a daily medication, and I feel confident this is going to work way better for me than taking benzos PRN. (The decision to take one or not tends to be fraught, and if I take them too frequently within a given period, I get super depressed. Learned that a few weeks ago.)
Posting this publicly just in case it’s helpful for anyone. People seem to enjoy reading about this whole thing. (Maybe “enjoy” is the wrong word.)

That’s so weird/dumb because it’s British... wtf Netflix.

Yes! The books were more kid orientated than HP, as far as I can remember, but I loved them and used to reread them all the time growing up. I’m sure JK must have taken at least a little inspiration from them because, yes, lots of similarities! I’m curious about this new remake now…
Oh yeah, she definitely pulled some inspiration from them for sure! But no such thing as too many magical schools in ancient castles tbh. And this one is all ladies! Although I am VERY curious about wizards in this universe... hm. Anyway, if Netflix stops being stupid, you should watch it! You’ll probably appreciate it more than I do.

The og version was formative for me, omg.
I feel so cheated right now tbh, where was this show/these books when I was young? :(
@moontowers i took to responding to everything with a giftrocket link and martin is so BLISTERINGLY STUPID that he kept trying to talk to me including attempting to call me in the middle of the night
