Hux: "There's something we need to address before we leave here. You said I changed sides, and you sounded about as uncertain about that as I am myself concerning this matter. You also said I didn't change as a person."

Rose: "It's true. Even if you wanted to change, a month and a half in a kinder environment cannot turn someone into a different person. Being with us pushes you towards acting less evil, but that doesn’t automatically make you a good person."

Hux: "So if you are aware of that, yet still want to be with me, we need to put that to the test. Rose Tico..."

Rose: "Wait a moment, you carry an engagement ring on you all the time?!"

Hux: "To be used in a proposal wasn't this ring's original purpose. The crystal in it is what you'll want to pay attention to. It's actually a kyber crystal that I took from Ilum."

Rose: *gasps* "Starkiller base..."

Hux: "Exactly. A portable reminder of my, to that day, biggest project. It was a source of pride and even now still is. That's what you're getting into and I ask... I beg of you to really, really make sure if you want this relationship. Because I don't want it to end in tears for you."

Not wanting Rose to cry... Was it empathy or rather him being afraid of feeling defeated if Rose left him? The man couldn’t tell.

Rose: "You carried this ring on your body for years? Including when you fired the damn thing? Then why hasn't the crystal turned red by now?"

Hux: "Probably because I'm not force sensitive. The crystal doesn't react to my thoughts or actions."

Rose: "Sometimes I worry what exactly you bring out in me..."

Hux: "The drive to protect."

Rose: "You think so? I thought it was dark curiosity or somesuch."

Hux: "There's nothing dark about you, Rose. You're the shield from behind which I can pursue all my ambitious dreams, but relying on that protection doesn’t render me weaker. I never knew that was even possible."

Rose: "You'll build something new, something freakish, impressive and slightly useful, that future generations won't believe was achieved so briefly after a galactic war."

At long last Poe and Finn were reunited, as was the dyad consisting of Kylo and Rey.

But for another couple, the happy reunion was a parting.

Rose and Corra turned away, unwilling to join Emperor Palpatine's court. Nobody was stopping them, not yet anyway. If they had a chance to get away with their lifes, then that was now, when everyone was still confused and trying to determine their place in the new situation.

Rose now owned two mementos of people she'd never in her life touch again: Her fallen sister's pendant and Grand-Marshall Hux' ring. The first had died way too fast... and the latter will take way too long until he’ll be dead to Rose.

Kylo: "My feelings in this are utterly diametral to mastery of the dark side, but I'm glad that you're here with us, Rey."

Rey: "With you? Standing next to you, maybe, but not "with" you. Not when you do the emperor's bidding!"

Kylo: "You will find that you have no say in this matter."

Finn: "Poe? You didn't do something stu... something noticeably more stupid than usual?"

Poe: "I brought you all back to life!"

Kylo: "And now everyone who was resurrected in this fashion is bound to the emperor's will. I couldn't have asked for a better army!"

Phasma: "Did you hear that, Armitage? The elite of the Resistance - and they cannot resist the emperor's command! We're invincible now!"

Hux: “Right. Enjoy getting used as floor mops by the force users.”

Phasma: "Huh? You're LEAVING? In the moment of our triumph?"

Agnon: “Let him, Captain. That’s one less rival to account for in the soon to come reshuffling of positions in High Command.”

Armitage: "The first to make a "Love redeemed the genocidal narcissist" comment gets a headful of displeasure so strong that I don't need force powers to radiate it!"

Corra: “I take it you already have a plan, Sir?”

Armitage: “...yes. Of course I have a plan! I just can’t elaborate on it within earshot of the enemy.”

Rose: “For starters we can confuse them by following MY plan!”

Armitage: “Great, let’s do that! It’ll give me time to put the finishing touches on mine!”

Rose: *chuckles*

After the guests had left, Hux claimed the stereo for himself and entertained himself with teaching the hostage dance steps.

Hux: "...three, four! End position and hooold! - That was good!"

Rose took fiendish delight in the lessons, not because she'd been particularly interested in picking up that skill, but because of the confidence they instilled in her teacher. Despite being arrogant to a fault, genuine confidence was something the General seemed to lack. Maybe acquiring some would enable Hux to defy the rest of High Command and jump ship for real.

When they both needed a break, Rose decided on constellation gazing as a means to let the man that was both her captor and the one she was protecting show off his memory.

Rose: "This star?"

Hux: "One of ours."

Rose: "This one?"

Hux: "Yours. For now."

Rose: "And this?"

Hux: "Uh... I can't tell on top of my head."

Hux (internally): Starkiller test target no longer in existence.

Rose: "Oh. Starkiller fuel?"

Hux: "...Starkiller fuel."

Back inside it fully sank in what had just happened. Starkiller base, his pride, that he’d happily talk about. And to a rebel, no less? Any day, with a sneer! Except for tonight. Tonight Armitage had lied, had feigned incompetence at basic astronomy even, to protect the feelings of a filthy insurgent.

Now that they had received the money, there was no reason for Poe and Hux to stay married. As agreed upon in advance, Poe arrived at the First Order's hideout and... proceeded to kiss Rose's hands?!

(Poe is on fire in this save. My best actor, not just giving me perfect faces, but also picking the perfect actions at the perfect moments.)

Hux: "You're dead, Dameron! So dead! Hey! Didn't you hear me? Hands off Rose at once!"

Poe: "Calm down. I'm just giving you a reason to file divorce on account of me having been an unfaithful husband."

Hux: "You could have harassed Agnon for that! Or Ren! But not Rose!"

Poe: "Pray tell, why not? Tsweek! Dreee!"

Rose: "Poe?!"

Poe: "Ah, sorry. I made mole noises."

Hux: "With you two for my friends who needs enemies..."

Poe: "See? You said it. Was it that hard?"

But it really was hard. Being friends with Poe and Rose in addition to having leaked information to the Resistance for a good year now didn't automatically make General Hux a friend of the Republic Remnant. And so they parted that day on worse terms than ever before.

After the ceremony, everyone went back inside for the dance.

Hux: "Wait, space-rat, you can dance?"

Poe: "Right back at you, Hugs!"

Hux normally wasn't skilled in applying his theoretical knowledge in practice, but when it came to dancing, his grasp of mathematics translated perfectly into steps and figures. Meanwhile Poe possessed natural agility and reflexes as well as a keen ear for music.

Shipwrecked and separated from the conflict that still went on between their factions, the two Generals complemented each other like two parts of a whole. The attraction resulting from that situation was undenieable, even though they'd never fall in love.

Kylo: "And now for the best part! Look closely!

For a move like that, both partners have to trust each other. Your ace pilot and my strategist have torn down walls between each other. That makes them vulnurable to outside influence, like, say, from blackmailing. Or a Force user."

Rose: "Say what?!"

Kylo: "I own them both now, whether they like it or not. And them NOT liking it, makes this even better."

The wedding preparations were almost finished, the only question still being open what the groom would wear. Poe couldn't marry wearing his flightsuit, after all. But after the shipwreck everyone only owned what they had came down in.

So the almost sensible course of action was to borrow something from those castaways who had halfway formal looking outfits. The choice was between Holdo's dress, Agnon's uniform and Kylo's robe.

Poe wouldn't want to get caught dead wearing a First Order uniform and he was both shorter and broader than Holdo, so he'd ruined her attire trying to wear it. That left only the robe.

Kylo: "So much for trying to pretend that none of this is happening... You HAD to drag me into this, had you?"

Agnon: "It's lowkey funny, though?"

Kylo: "No, it isn't! They should just find a bush and do the deed! Bothering with elaborate rituals and coming up with justifications is so... light side."

Poe: "I don't think I need dating advice from one whose idea of romance is trying to slay his crush's parental figure, mentor and friends left and right."

Kylo: "But you need that one's robe!"

Armitage and his "warbride" then returned to the First Order hideout.

For a glorious morning both groups of castaways worked together. There was a (scam) wedding to organize and digital inheritance money to collect!

Hux: "Believe it or not, I'm not in a hurry to leave this planet anymore. There's something here that I don't have at home."

Poe: "Like constant hunger, frostburn and diarrhea, you mean?"

Hux: "Speaking of, it would be bad form to let my future husband for a day starve. You may join us for breakfast."

Holdo: “Given the state your greenhouse is in, I better call BB-8 to bring some honey and strawberry jam from our camp over.”

Hux: “If we’d wanted any of that, we’d TAKEN it when we were there!”

Entering the common room, Poe watched Hux grab two slices of stale bread and cheese each and proceed to eat them in the company of Rose Tico.

Poe: "Wait, what, did I get this right? The "thing" Hugs would miss is ROSE?!"

Phasma: "'fraid so. They were thick as thieves from the moment they met.”

Poe: And yet he didn’t ask Rose to play his bride when he got forced to marry to claim his inheritance. I can’t tell whether the implication here is worrying or heartwarming.

Poe: "So I hear since you took up Jedi training with Rey you are afraid of the dark side?"

Finn: "No. Of the dark. The literal absence of light makes me nervous."

Poe: "Okay, let me show you all the little sparkles in the nightsky. Each one is a majestic sun, lighting up numerous planets! If that isn't enought light..."

Finn: "Poe, those are snowflakes. Because it's clouded."

Poe: "Well, then I only have cuddles to offer anymore..."

Finn (smiling): "Cuddles are best."

The first ever fear rolled in my sims game :-)

One day at 18:00, Finn returned from foraging with a fear of the dark. The tooltip says he needs to be confident when it's dark to combat this fear.
