Have any of you ever experienced a calling that defies logic or practicality? A calling to a place or a thing you've never hand firsthand experienced, or ever been to? That certain calling is something I've had for as long as I can remember. That calling is the ocean. It doesn't really make sense does it? I mean, I was the girl who hated swim class, the Ohio born and raised girl who currently lives in the middle of the state far from any large body of water. Yet still, no matter what else I pursue, I feel something nagging at the pit of my stomach. It tells me to explore, to learn, to help, but most importantly, it tells me to go. I've made a million and one excuses, and some situational issues like funding and finding a place to live, etc. are practical issues, but if this calling has existed through everything, this push towards the ocean, towards helping and learning and growing, then maybe, just maybe, it's there for a reason. I have a wide variety of interests, and while I have urges to do one thing or another often, they come and go, but this has stayed. So maybe it's time to see what will happen if I lean into this. Maybe it's time to make things happen, no matter how impractical the world may make them out to be. I've spent enough of my life ignoring them. The time is now.
