Take Note: Competitors or Colleagues? I see my fellow Realtors everywhere as Colleagues not as Competitors. We win some, we lose some. It's just life. And of course no one likes to lose. One thing about me is that I never ask who I'm up against because it's me who will get the listing or not. It has nothing to do with the other agent. #MeltMyHeart .... I loved the text I received this morning. "Did you get the listing?" I said, I hadn't heard. Reply... "I'll do some digging." ... My reply, I hate to lose! ... This person will now become my best friend. Maybe we won't spend a lot of time together, but I sure admire his honesty. Oh yes, and he replied, "I hate to lose too!" Honest, forthright and true. 👍 Why not? #LessonLearned right out of a page from my own real estate books, "we are colleagues not competitors." I relay that message in my real estate books, when I teach and when I speak time and time again. It's the simplest rule in the book. It's free. It's painless and makes what we do much easier. Why be at the other end of sword when you can walk side by side? I adore this person now. Working together, and being open and honest will take you so much further then being all about yourself or a bully.
