this took so long to finish you can see my style changing halfway through lol. it was super fun trying to include subtle family resemblances

artist notes: - ty's eyes are the same color as tessa's - lucie and livvy have the same hair color, while the rest of the brunette blackthorns have tessa’s hair - ash has sebastian’s coloring but clary/jocelyn’s features - alec, anna, and kit have the same blue eyes as will and cecily, but i actually picture kit's eyes to be lighter. i just draw too many blonde haired/blue eyed characters - the blackthorns were the most fun to draw :>

Reasons why TSC Fans are looking forward to TWP

KitTy, obviously.

Dru, Ash and Jaime dynamic. I bet there's going to a lot of heavy stuff with them, both boys crushing on 1 girl. Dru, you go, girl!

I also heard that people want to learn more of other Shadowhunter families other than the main 5, that is to say, Herondales, Blackthorns, Carstairs, Fairchilds and Lightwoods. In TWP, we'll learn about a Brazilian family, Pedroso (from Dru's friend at the Academy, Thais Pedroso) and an Indian family, Joshi (from Ty's friend at the Scholomance, Anush Joshi). Variety!

Finally, a non-evil Morgenstern (I'm talking Ash here)! The only other good Morgenstern that we have is Clary, and she doesn't even take up the name, choosing to stick to Clarissa Fairchild. It's time the Morgenstern name was cleared.

We never got to hear what happened to Kit and Simon from Thule. Also, Mark and Kieran from Thule might still be alive, because of the protection of The Wild Hunt. We also have a live Cristina, and a live Livvy Blackthorn. One can only guess what happened to Simon and Kit. Comment if you have any ideas or theories cuz I only have one and I got it from another post.

We also have so many loose ends, like the Cohort, Janus, the Fey, Thule, the Princes of Hell, Mother Hawthorn... It'll all get cleared up in TWP. Sorry I can't elaborate, because I have no idea what could be done about these!

Our main heroes, Dru and Ty and Kit, are going to be so powerful! I'm taking a wild guess when I say that they'll probably have powers extra to what they already have as Shadowhunters, but this is just guessing. No doubt about one thing though, they're going to be the Big Three in TWP.

And then there's Lucifer, the big daddy of demons and all problems in general. In a post that I reblogged, there was a theory that says that Alec survived the Svefnthorn because of Lucifer, and that somehow it would give Lucifer control over Alec.

I really think having no other prominent Morgensterns is a very huge missed opportunity. It could have been interesting if maybe the Morgensterns were a relative new shadowhunter family ie valentines father ascending. Instead we get a few tantalizing tidbits of information.

I agree! It honestly makes you wonder if Valentines behaviour is something of his own accord or maybe hate that’s just been building and building in his family. I think Cassie made a post once say how Valentines father wasn’t there nice to him but still it wasn’t actually included in the story.

I’m also surprised Cassie didn’t do that especially since our main character, Clary, IS a morgenstern even if she doesn’t use her last name.

Honestly I think there’s maybe potential to get lore from the family now that we have Ash as a main character.

I’m glad you agree, huge missed opportunity. I mean we have info about every other major shadowhunter family but them!! It’s so weird!

there’s a very small but significant moment in city of bones that keeps popping in my head: when jace gives clary the morgenstern kindjal, with the red stone carved in the shape of a rose, which belonged to valentine. it is so interesting to me how before they even knew clary was a morgenstern, it was jace himself who gave her a dagger that in fact belonged to her by right (although he did it with other intentions) and then throughout the story, it’s thanks to jace’s help that she finds out about her true identity. i think it is a defining moment, that might look unimportant at first, but that actually leads to many developments. it is with that dagger that clary does her first throw, which was a hit by the way.
