Day 25: Buddy

Bernhard "Buddy" Baker AKA The Animal Man is a fictional superhero from the DC Universe. I was not much familiar with the character until recently. Turns out, he has quite an interesting story. Or the least, his superpower is incredible! So, Buddy Baker is able to temporarily borrow the powers/traits of animals due to him being in proximity to an exploding extraterrestrial space ship once. Which would mean, he can have the flight of a bird, the swimming ability of a fish, the strength of an ant, colour changing of a chameleon, electricity of an eel, can re-grow lost limbs, you name it! He was created by writer Dave Wood and artist Carmine Infantino and he gains his abilities by tapping into #morphogeneticfield created by all living creatures. Also, he is married, has two kids and juggles his superhero job with the responsibilities of a father. He is a man of great compassion towards all creatures, an ardent animal rights activist and an environmentalist. I personally like his pre-crisis costume with the denim jacket that has pockets so he could keep his keys and notes from his wife. And the goggles! Love it! . . . . . .
