I hope it's as glorious as you imagined it.

1984 Convertors Insectors: Morphus (robot mode) By ??? (knock off)
but this was a unique Japanese knock off figure from back in 1984, during the Gen 1 or G! of Transformers moving the franchise or licensing to USA, some Japanese manufacturers still cant let go and produced these beauties, hahahah... not too shabby IMO, I just love em cause of the crazy name and the camp values I guess...?
The design of my little Buggy has officially been updated! 💛💙💙💛
Morphus Reference Sheet Post
Note: This is inspired by @mystic-quartelz’s design of her Goatasus Ref Sheet.
Morphus (plural: Morphi) is a creature that can change into different forms called “sonas”. They are neutral, they will not attack you unless you harm them.
so let’s get into the do’s and the don’t’s
1. Body
A Morphus’ body looks similar to a human, except they have no ears, no nose, a tail, and hind legs. A male Morphus’ hind legs are muscular and a little bit angular, while a female Morphus’ hind legs are lean and curvy.
Despite having no presence of an ear or nose, Morphi has a keen sense of smell and extraordinarily a sense of hearing. This is linked to their ancestors who use these sensors to survive.
The tail (or at least I could call it) is the most important part of their body. It holds its sonas and uses it for protection. They must keep their tails in good condition to be stable to encapsulate sonas. Its appearance varied from person to person, and its texture is soft and squishy like a slime; it is not recommended to touch one’s tail because it’s very sensitive and it is very rude.
A tail’s energy depends on the condition of the morphus. If they’re healthy, it’s colorful and vibrant; if they’re sick, it has an unsaturated color and it looks droopy.
2. Sonas
A sona is a form created by a Morphus to use them mainly for protection. Others use it for recreation. The tail can hold only 1-3 sonas, each sona is representing their personality. Others the sonas represents the conditions of their heart, mind, and soul.
For a Morphus to create a stable sona, they must balance the sona’s strengths and weaknesses, their personality, and their appearance. Otherwise, the sona will be unstable and a Morphus can be corrupted by an unstable sona. If they successfully created a stable sona, the sona will treat their creator well (yes the sona is self-aware that they have created) but there is a rare chance that a sona will soon have a personality of their own as well as their alignment, but there is a modicum of evidence for that.
When a Morphus transformed, their mind and their sona’s mind are fused together and the Morphus’ appearance will now be their sona’s appearance and they have access to the sona’s abilities and powers. Their tail is now a floating piece of slime hanging on their nape.
There is no time limit but the Morphus will transform back into their normal form under these circumstances:
Their tail has been damaged
Their sona is against the idea of what they are about to do
Either the Morphus or the sona is too tired or ran of energy
The Morphus has been implemented by an anti-sona collar
3. Colors
Skin ranges from violet purple to light blue. No black and white colors.
Sclera range from blue-green to reddish pink, no black and white scleras. The eyes are commonly black but it’s possible for a colored eye; it is rare for a Morphus to have white eyes.
The tail can come in any color as long as its main color is similar to a Morphus sclera color. For example, if pink is its color, then the tail must be a similar tint. 1-2 gradients are allowed.
Well, that’s all for now! Be creative on creating your own Morphus, feel free to ask me questions if you’re still confused.
I might update this soon.
Couple quick studies of a older OC called Morphus.
Morphus belongs to a species called Vilva/Vilvas, a rather reclusive and prideful species that almost drove themselves extinct in Land of Tos due to harmful obsession with pedigrees. They’re slowly healing up from it, younger generation learning from past mistakes.
Morphus is not a young lad, but Vilvas don’t really show aging easily.
BEHOLD! My ultimate project - The Reference Sheet of BUGGY!
Even heroes needs to get ready for bedtime. Here, our little hero gets snug in his adorable onesies with a trapdoor. ^^
The first images is shaded while the other two are flat-colored. 😉
This is Buggy the Little Hero! Buggy is a Morphling, an toddler Morphus. He was orphaned when he was a baby, but was found and adopted by a community of animals. Since then, he became a hero to those in need of help. He is very mischievous and a born troublemaker. His nickname comes from BUGGING out bad guys. But, despite his naughty nature, he is a Boy Scout with a heart of gold. My very brand new character. Please do not use without permission.
