Just remembered how some weeks ago I read s hc that Henry seed how the Delanceys are mistreated so he started doing the only thing he thinks he can: cooking for them. So he started bringing food to their House and it's always Morris who answers the door. At the beginning he hated it but now he kinda likes it.

Anyways all this to say that (my own hc as a result of that) Morris develops a little crush on Henry and that maybe you could write some hc on that and (also) you decide if it's unrequited love or not

Omigod! I know I take years to respond to this believe me I wish I wasn't this way! First and foremost THANK YOU SO MUCH LIKE OH MY GOSHHHH?!

So the first time Henry came to the Delancey's he was actually so fucking scared he debated doing a "ding dong ditch" and just leaving the food on their doorsteps, but he wasn't quick enough and a part of him was actually wondering how they'd react.

First thing he got for them was actually an apple pie (I'm debating weather I don't want it to be full on modern au because Henry just wouldn't have money to cook for other people in canon era so keep this in mind while reading)

Morris was very much confused and very much suspicious. He initially told Henry to "fuck off and leave" because "he ain't no charity case"

But seeing the look on Henry's face and being able to smell the still warm apple pie he reluctantly agreed to accept the gift and basically shut the door in Henry's face once he did.

And it was the best apple pie he's ever eaten. And I mean his entire life. Which to be fair he didn't get much of a chance to enjoy things like apple pies but still. And Morris loves sweets!

But Henry kept on bringing them food and over time Morris warmed up to him. He started to look forward to his visits and he stayed to chat a bit with Henry every time he brought them something.

And at some point Henry didn't come for over two weeks because he was sick and Morris got very worried which he refused to admit because we all know what he's like...

He even wanted to go check in on him but he was afraid it'd come of as needy.

Then Henry cane back and they had a small argument because "Where the hell were you those two weeks?!" "It's not my fault I've got life outside of whatever this is!" And Henry was gone for another two weeks.

Then Morris got worried, got drunk, decided to fuck it all and he can come off as as needy as he wants to and he drove to Henry.

He told him he's very sorry, he told him he didn't mean it this way and that he was worried and he may have even confessed his love to Henry.

And then they made up and lived a happy ever after because I'm not in a mood for angst! So some more headcanons about that-

Henry got Morris a lot of sweets and when they moved in together, because at some point they did he'd always keep some snacks around and he'd make Morris romantic dinners.

He jokingly calls Morris cupcake or cutie pie and Morris absolutetly hated it at first. He'd blush and he'd tell him to stop but Henry knew deep down he loved the nicknames.

On the other hand Morris once called Henry Chief and his boyfriend loved it so much he decided that's the perfect nickname.

Morris got Henry the "kiss the cook" apron because he didn't want to come off as "romantic or whatever" whenever he snuck up behind Henry to kiss him on the cheek. Henry wears the apron all the time.

Henry also tried to teach Morris some more complicated recipes (Morris can make pasta and sandwiches let's all cheer) but he failed miserably.

Once Morris tried to make a dinner for Henry as a thank you gift and he nearly burned the place down. That's when he got banned from the kitchen.

From then on he sticks to ordering food or making pasta which despite being an amazing cook Henry really enjoys even if only because Morris made it.

When Henry proposed he hid the ring in the apple pie like al the rich white people do I don't know what's the deal with that but yeah that happent. It was also the same night when Morris wanted to propose so they proposed to each other essentially.

Also Morris is the type of person to mix up salt and sugar all the time and he'd make Henry's tea with salt more often then Henry could count but he'd just drink it both out of spite and because Morris was trying so damn much to be the perfect boyfriend he deserved.

And Morris was completly obevious to that until one day he tried to steal his tea and took a sip of it and was like "Babe this is awful" and Henry was like "is it? I quite like it"

Woah! That's a lot which I hope pays for the long wait. But It seems I liked this and well I hope you guys like it too and motivating me to write more is very very much appereceates I need attention to live Imao

Morris loves going to the cinema. It's dark, he gets to see a scary movie and watch how people get terrified. He also loves popcorn and the cinema he goes to sells it fairly cheap.

He always wanted to keep a pet but there is no space to do that, it costs too much and he doesn't trust himself with an animal.

He likes snakes. Hear me out on this he's a snake fan. He also loves to go on long walks by himself and listen to music. He'd sometimes skip school to do that.

He had to retake a year at school because he didn't pass (mostly because he was absent too much but yk he also failed some subject)

Oscar is good at maths and he got a scholarship at some collage (average one but still) he though of denying it and going to work instead but Morris convinced him otherwise

He is good at playing cards and even better at cheating at cards. He once made like 100$ off of it.

His favourite place in the world is the rooftop he gets to sit on because well it's quiet and he loves to watch how the city looks at night.

Spot! His special interest are cars. He's very good with them and dropped out of school to work at a garage and support his family.

He and Davey are close friends because they both enjoy quiet and peacefulness and just rant to each other. They're also both autistic trust me.

Davey tought Spot how to play chess (he already knew the basics from when he'd go to school and practise in the library) so now the two of them spend Sunday afternoons playing and chatting.

Well I'll try!

We all know Morris loves to fight, just for the sake of letting his anger out. He picks fights with strangers, sometimes more then he can handle and every time it makes Davey worried. Davey will always patch Morris up though. Sit him down and clean all his bruises and cuts. Always quiet and disapproving, always shaking his head with disapprobation and pity but never actually saying anything. That's just the way Morris likes it and oftentimes Davey doesn't have the energy to argue.

Sometimes on very rare occasions Morris will come home late and find Davey already asleep. It doesn't happen often because Davey overworks himself and is a chronic insonomic but on those rare occasions that it does happen Morris will go to bed and quietly cuddle with Davey. And to be honest those are Morris' favourite moments

Morris works two jobs, at a garage as an assistant and a night shift at some sketchy bar or a gas station (up to interpretation/ undecided) either way he decided to take up two jobs to help Davey pay for collage. Davey feels guilty and tells Morris he deserves a chance to study too but the other always says that he wouldn't want to study (and to be fair it's true, Morris always hated school.) Of course Davey also works part time at a cafe near his campus.

Morris loves to drive Davey around, Davey loves to be the passenger princess. Their car rides vary... Sometimes they talk non-stop, they drive past 7/eleven just to get slushies, they laugh and joke around, radio plays quietly in the background. Other times its slightly different, music is blasting but no one says anything, Davey's on his phone humming along quietly while Morris keeps his eyes on the road only looking at Davey from time to time and smiling at himself. Sometimes it's just Morris driving in silence whith Davey passed out from exhaustion next to him or in the back of the car. Sometimes they argue, Morris goes over the speed limit but doesn't care, Davey says rude things and so does his partner. The car is other wise quiet as one of them always turns the radio off mid argument, it's just too annoying. Other times it's quiet and no one says anything, still it's comfortable. Davey looks out the window and thinks, Morris doesn't look at him but Davey's presence is still comforting, the car ride is smooth and enjoyable.

Wow that last one was way too long! Well to finish off nicely- Davey organises things for Morris. Morris tends to forget things when he goes shopping or when he makes plans. Davey loves to organise, he'll make lists, color code them. He'll leave sticky notes around the apartment. They're not too important but secretly Morris cherishes all of them, he still keeps the first note Davey left him inside his wallet. It says "I'll be home late so I left you some chicken for dinner. It's in the fridge. I love you, make sure to eat tonight! Oh and buy milk!" So there is that! I hope you liked it! 👀 😝

Okay hear me out Jack being jealous of Davey and morris.... HEAR ME OUT-

Guys! Guys!

No but I see it! Especially since Jack hates Morris. Jack hates what Morris has done to him and the other boys, he hates that they always end up in a fight and that he gets his nose broken. And now Morris is taking away the person he cares most about. Jack has no idea how well Morris will treat Davey. He doesn't trust him. He doesn't believe Morris loves Davey and doesn't believe Morris can take care of Davey as well as Jack could.

But see Davey is happy with Morris. He has moved on and now Morris and him are together. And Jack can't stand on Davey's way to happiness no metter how stupid he finds it. He just wants to be here for Davey when Morris breaks his heart like Jack believes he will and he wants to protect him if things get bad.

And Jack could've taken his chance, he could've done so much more before but now he looks at Davey and Davey organised his life with Morris. They made it work and who is Jack to ruin it. He just wants Dave safe and he'll be here for him no metter what.

Mostly written for modern era but some are canon

He's very protective over Oscar. He won't say it even to his brother but he loves him very much. His protectiveness is shown by his actions though not his words (Canon and Modern)

He thinks Oscar is also very smart and he's, rightfully, frustrated that his brother didn't get a chance to finish his education. (Canon)

His hobby is boxing. Not only because he likes to fight but it's a way for him to let out his anger (Modern and Canon)

Oscar loves to watch old horror movies. He thinks that the ones made now don't have the same charm but still watches them just for the record. His favourite one is scream and saw (Modern)

He listens to music from the 80's and 90's (Modern)

He thinks he looks really great in silver and had his ears pierced at 15. He started to wear small silver earrings but got teased for it too much and now barely does it (Modern)

You have been heard. Actually I talked about this one with my bestie- that is @/what-the-newsies and it's a very interesting concept.

Canon Era

Definetly can't see Davey falling for Morris and even if they did get together (which could be interesting but mostly a short-lived relationship) I can't imagine it being healthy. I don't think Morris would be able to keep his cool at all times.

One sided- At first Morris didn't realise that what he was feeling was romantic attraction. In fact at first Morris got more and more annoyed when Davey talked with Jack and so he confused his crush with the fact that he just really dislikes Kelly.

When he did realise that he was in love he struggled a lot of internalised homophobia and tried to get over Davey as much as possible.

He'd be mean to the other boy, or well, even meaner then usually but he hated to see Davey hurt so then he just tried to ignore him.

Still he noticed all those little things about Davey. Like how he'd often limp after going back to school or how tired he seemed or that on Saturdays he seemed just a little happier then the other days.

Speaking of Davey limping or coming to the yard bruised. Morris tried to investigate that. First he asked Davey himself but it came off as a mockery taking their history and the way Morris usually was. Then he tried asking the other newsies but they just wouldn't tell him. When that didn't work he resolved to following Davey for a bit untill he realised it was his classmates' doing.

As a way of giving them a lesson he and Oscar decided to beat them up almost getting one of them killed. Davey never found out who did it but the boys from his school stopped bullying him after that.

Morris just settled for watching his love from afar knowing that Davey would never have feelings for him.

I think at some point their relationship would improve a little. Perhaps because Morris saved Les from getting hurt (lightly inspired by a fanfic I read) but still Davey would be afraid of him and prefer to stay far away.

That's a lot! Damn! Very interesting very much would love to explore this more. Also don't mind it being tagged Davey x Morris. Ik it's not exackly a ship but it falls into this category I suppose

Morris was failing some subject and Davey insisted on tutoring him. They spent hours at Jacob's apartment with Davey explaining everything to him. And he did pass! Miraculously but he did! (I hc Morris to be dyslexic and lowkey not to care about it just like me fr)

Theyre both caffeine addicts and both drink black coffee no sugar no cream (Davey likes tea too but when he needs to stay up late coffee it is!)

Morris works at a gas station (night shift) and when there is no customers around which is surprisingly often because it's like 3 in the morning he'll be on a call with Davey who's an insonomic and goes to sleep at this hour.

Morris loves horror movies! Davey is disgusted by them. But he still agrees to watch them with Morris and gets to hug his bf when they get too violent.

On the other hand Morris used to despise documentaries but knowing how happy watching them makes Davey feel he still agrees to do that.

They like to sit in front of Morris' work with their cofee and start gaze. Usually listening to music together. Both Davey and Morris are introverts so those quiet moments when it's just the two of them are their favourite thing in the world.
