The demogorgon hangs midair, clawed hand extended towards Mike. Its flower-petal face opens wide, showing rows of razor-sharp teeth that drip with saliva, and it almost seems to be shaking, like it’s pushing against something, something that’s holding it back.

For a split second, Mike doesn’t recognise him. His eyes are rolled back, revealing pure white, and he holds himself with an unfamiliar confidence. His hair is slightly damp, and he seems to almost glow under the lights of the bright fire burning behind him.

He looks beautiful.

A multipov s5 rewrite that aims to fill in the insane amount of plotholes + return the show to being actually about outcasts. Focuses on essentially the entire cast of characters.

“Hey, just so you know. If you wanna catch Robin again before tonight, you can find her at the hospital.” Steve gives her a friendly nudge, with a knowing look in his eyes as they push open to the door to leave- but Nancy just looks forlorn in response.

“Oh, I don’t know. I tried something today, and got nothing.” She heaves a sigh, toying with a strand of her hair. There’s something tired in her face, a begrudging acceptance. “I don’t think she’s… like me. I should probably just let it go.”

Steve tries. He really, really, tries to stifle his snort, out of respect for his friend, and it ends up coming out as more of a strangled cough. He doubles over in a hacking fit, overcome by the absurdity of it all. God, this was the Fast Times return debacle all over again.

Or, Steve and Nancy concoct a half-baked scheme to get together again, just to make Robin and Jonathan jealous.

And, of course, it fails. Miserably.

Ronance, Stonathan and fake relationships! It's also a season 5 fix it and a super duper good read (im not biased trust)

A pause. Mike chances a look at his friend's face. It’s frustratingly impossible to read.

“Oh.” Will says.

“I don’t think I could ever do something like that,” Mike confesses, before his eyes widen, “Not that I’m— No, I’m not like you. I am, but just not like that. Not that that’s bad, it’s just I’m— I like El. Girls. I—”

“Mike.”

“I like El.” He’s not quite sure who he’s trying to convince.

What it says on the tin! A short oneshot set directly after Will's coming out scene, where Will/Mike actually discuss their feelings! It's not that hard, Duffers!

You can’t just— take one in the dark?”

Jonathan could lie to him. He could so, so easily lie to him. Dispel his doubts, that there was someone with a camera in his bushes last night. But for some reason, he hesitates.

Jonathan glances down, pushing hair out of his eyes a bit awkwardly. “Well… no. Film cameras, their settings can be adjusted, so that you can shoot in dimmer environments.” He feels daring, and looks back up. “Why do you ask?”

God, he’s going to hell.

beginning my s5 rewrite!!! im so excited to get into this bc. theres so much i get to cover. byler, the painting lie, why the upside down froze when it did, the exacts of wills powers, everything the duffers SHOULDVE covered.... come read don't dream it's over now!! im not the best writer in the world but i think its. gonna be a decent bit more hap-satisfying than s5 was.

dont be fooled by the summary btw it is very byler-y but also. plenty of focus on other characters.
