Bird #72 - the mountain quail (LC)
These little guys can be found in mountain-y scrubland west of the Rocky Mountains. Their head plumes act as a (imo rather cartoonish) method of communication - laying them flat when relaxed and sticking straight up like a unicorn horn when agitated. (Kinda the reverse of cockatiels??)
The reference photo brought me joy so you should see it too :] im sad i didn't really capture the shape but that's okay there's always next time.
Mountain quail, the largest quail in the US
A domestic duck friend and a mountain quail buddy! This is my first design-to-merch art I've made and sold so any feedback is appreciated and will be used on future projects!
Two mini wooden pine pin designs I made and had manufactured, black heart shaped rubber backs and approximately 1 Inch x 0.75 inches.
20 stock of the duck and 25 of the mountain quail. There are 3 B grade ducks too!
I love quails because they look like they have a quest for you to do.
the end is nigh... I think? The end of bird drawings, that is. Whew!
