Doomed from Durham! Anathema's second demo All Faith is Lost, released way back in 1991, is finally in my possession as it arrived from the north of England to the south of Australia today! This release is immensely revered and is historically important in the development of doom metal as a new depth of sorrow and despair can be heard throughout this sombre journey. The tempos truly slowed down on songs like They Die and the mystically beautiful harmonies of Crestfallen reached new dizzying heights of emotion that are rarely equaled, even to this day. The epically heavy song All Faith is Lost truly reflects its title and leaves the listener uncomfortably despondent. At One With the Earth is equally as heavy with a slower middle section highlighting an early experimental side to the band that has been ever present over the many years Anathema has evolved. This band is the reason I first desired to create doom metal and I will never forget the impact it had on me and how it changed my life! - JAH 7.9.18 #anathema #doommetal #allfaithislost #mournfulcongregation (at North Adelaide, South Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnbBKjuhrgYQajHLfEgGZ8fRR4l6GN1AUMCdyQ0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1gdxrmj8esnei
