Finally! I made it to Fallarbor. I found the Move Tutor. I have a spare Heartscale. Ezri finally can learn Magical Leaf!
Or so I thought. It's not on the list of moves she can relearn... But my Dex App told me, Kirlia were able to learn Magical Leaf in Gen 3.
Take a closer look to a website.
Are you kidding me?! This only is true for Fire Red and Leaf Green!? Not Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald!?
And to think I made Ezri wait to level up, wait to evolve! Fuck this crap, man. Get wrecked, Seviper.
On a funnier side note, Kirlia goes from Confusion directly to Psychic. No Psybeam inbetween.
I even encountered one of these. It was tempting, since it was a psychic type with ground immunity, but my team was pretty much layed out by then and neither Solrock nor Lunatone were on it. You can blame Tate and Liza for that.
Stupid double gym battle.
I reached Lavaridge after an rather unpleasant encounter with Team Magma on the volcano. It didn't impact my journey much, so without further ado: the gym battle of Lavaridge.
I didn't expect much resistance, because I only have two Pokémon by now and they're accordingly over leveled.
So this was the expected outcome. I had Moshu Shi as backup but didn't need her.
But now it was finally time for me to get a third Pokémon for my team. Because now I could travel into the desert.
Where I met this adorable guy! Another psychic type with ground immunity, but this time actually useful.
Next stop, dad. Time to stomp that loser.
Egg Moves; Inherit vs Taught.
Move tutors must get paid a lot of money in the Pokemon world for teaching obscure ones. Take for instance the move Volt Tackle which needed a parent holding a Light Ball. You can have it taught to a Pikachu in Alola and Captain Zisu can teach it even in ancient Sinnoh. If you can get a Pokemon to know these moves without the right genetics, could all egg moves be taught if demonstrated to the Pokemon? How would an egg move inherited from a parent be different from one instructed to them? Maybe it’s skill using the move in the beginning?
Though I don’t imagine a newly matched Bagon can use Hydro Pump very well. Are there any advanced egg moves that the smaller stages endanger themselves when using? I mean, they probably have a limited energy pool to draw the non-STAB elemental energy from. And it has to be exhausting when first learning a move with a type you are weak to. Any backfires could hurt you more than your element. Inherited might give them the beginning stages of a pool to draw from. While being taught enables them to convert their energy to what they use. The first is arguably faster despite eggs taking a while to hatch. The second means you are capable enough to teach various species how to do it.
—Also, thanks to the ten followers who decided my little blog deserved paying attention to.—
Move Tutor is back in exchange for BP.
great lord in the sky they gave chesnaught drain punch
i'm so fucking happy my baby got the move he needed from day one
my precious big root chesnaught is now perfect
So the oras games come out really soon and i need to know what tutor moves will be available and what the tutors take as payment
I've always wondered what move tutors did with those heart scales, and why they wanted those instead of something like money.
