hi lovely! do you have any tips on reaching out to Leviathan specifically? im very drawn to the ocean and the idea of her intrigues me, however I have never reached out to a demon before. i enjoy looking at demonolatry posts but am scared to take the first step.

honestly, this kind of logic i'm about to spout can be your general approach to any spirit/deity/etc, but honestly how i started was with a simple prayer as a conversation starter, and a cup of coffee each that we shared together (for leviathan's, i added salt and made it black). it can literally just be that simple.

but, an important part about demonolatry (or even just spirit/deity work in general) is accepting that you will make mistakes. emphasis on will. not can. will. you have to know in your heart that there are going to be instances where you get it wrong, sometimes extremely wrong, and there will be instances where you can offend who you're working with. this is not the end of the world, and if you genuinely want to do your best alongside a demon, you need to make mistakes to achieve that. demons are aware of this. they do not expect us to be perfect, and no person is exempt to that expectation. a lot of demons won't tell me to tie my metaphorical shoelaces before i inevitably trip over them, purely so i'll remember to tie them in the future. does that make sense?

the reason why i said the second paragraph was because this is what i assume is what is stopping you from making the first step. but coming from someone who's made a huge HUGE mistake with every demon he's worked with, i'm here to say it's alright. leviathan is very... reasonable, with these things. she is wise beyond any human comprehension, and with that wiseness, comes knowing that we're practically eternally-bound to fucking up. i do not speak for leviathan here, i'm just telling you this from my own experience. not to say you should aim to make mistakes, but they will come of their own accord, and the best thing you can do is learn from them.
