If I had a nickel for every time a new Metroid game taking place between Super Metroid and Metroid: Fusion was packed with potential and visually stunning for the era of its release, but seemed to fundamentally misunderstand what makes a good Metroid game and was nearly universally panned, I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it's fucking WEIRD that it happened twice...
