2020 Quarantine Challenge - 24th of April š±
Guess who finished her first run of her course material today? š
Mon - What is your biggest tip for staying focused?
Set yourself up for success. Make sure everything is to hand and culture a focused environment - that includes mindset š§
Tue - What is your biggest tip for not getting cabin fever?
Go outside, if you can and itās safe to do so. If not, make sure to spend time by windows, balconies, etc. Failing that, or if youāre sick of the same view, try a little escapism - games are my go to, because then I can interact with that world š®
Wed - What would be your advice to you from five years ago?
Work hard, but make sure to play. Try new things whenever you can, and do it with real hunger. Never deal in half measures. Be less afraid. Things might not always go as you think or want, and they might go badly sometimes, but that doesnāt mean theyāre bad for you. Learn from it, as much as you can, and have some self respect šŖ
Thu - What is the best advice youāve ever been given (e.g. from a teacher or a friend)?
I had a good one from my friend a few weeks ago - ālet sleeping eejits lieā, which is beyond relevant to me and I definitely should follow it - Iāve got a horrid tendency to dig things up again and again to re-analyse them and I drive myself up the wall with it. The best advice Iāve ever had was (although modified) from my sister - ājust be brave. Even if itās just for a moment, just for five minutes, just be brave.ā š§”
Fri - What is your biggest tip for organising your study space/study materials?
Donāt have (much) more than you need. Less to hand is less to handle š
Sat - What is your best tip on how to relax?
Know what works for you. Personally, I canāt bring myself to meditate. I like doing something with my hands, that requires most, if not all, of my attention, and preferably involves more than one sense - cooking, gaming, dancing, lifting, all come to mind š§š»āāļø
Sun - What is your biggest tip to someone starting to learn your major/favourite subject/degree?
Set office hours and work damn hard during those hours. Outside that, take care of yourself and have fun. The two sides of it have to feed into each other. If you let them blur, both start to get tiring š
