I’m letting my dinner settle, watching Our Guy in China, and schmoozing about on tumblr for a change, while I try and convince a friend of mine that the all day rain we’ve had is gorgeous. Chronic multitasker 😂

2. What’s your fav hobby?

Love love l o v e to cook. I could cook all day and be quite happy. I love food in general - the culture, the psychology, the social impacts, how recipes evolve, I just love it. Everything about it 😍

3. Do you have any pets?

I do! I have a dog who we’ll call B, and a crested gecko, who is mostly known as Kimosabe.

4. Have you read any good books recently? What are they about?

Does H. Ansel’s Pharmaceutical Calculations count? 👀

5. How do you take your tea or coffee?

I’m a coffee girl, have been ever since I served my time as a barista. I’m also a coffee snob and won’t drink instant unless I’m gagging for it 😂. Usually I’ll take a flat white or cappuccino, never with sugar or syrups - good coffee doesn’t need it, for me.

I only really drink tea if I’m really stressed or upset. I take it really strong, two and a coo - two sugars and the tiniest splash of milk. I’m desperate to get into herbal teas but I don’t seem to like any so far 😂

6. What’s your favourite colour?

7. What was the last film you watched?

Oh dear, now you’re asking 😳🤔 Hmm. The Green Mile, I think.

8. Does pineapple go on pizza?

Depends on the other pizza toppings! You wouldn’t throw it on a meat feast, but on more vegetabley or chicken/pork based pizzas, go for it! I quite like it, one of the only ways I’ll eat pineapple 👀

9. What are you most looking forward to?

Oh where to start. Realistically - Autumn shifting in. The weather getting colder. Making really seasonal, warming dishes. Scarves. Coats. Boots and thick socks. Walking in the cold. Studying at home. Crisp air. Strong coffee. I think somewhere in there, I’m due a weekend with T and all the loveliness that entails 🤔🥰

10. Do you have lots of houseplants?

I did! But I left them in my flat when I bolted home before lockdown, so they’ll all be dead now 😬 Opportunity for a fresh start, methinks 😉

Dug out some old notebooks today to use, and yes my diary does now count as an ‘old notebook’, turns out I haven’t used it since the beginning of April. So many plans crossed out but it’s lovely to cross out the exam countdown! It’s been a busy and hectic day today at work, I’m on paeds but the ward has turned into psych, which we are super duper unequipped for. And I didn’t expect to spend my Monday looking up what IM benzos can be given to teenagers. Plus a frequent flier is being admitted to MAU tonight, so we had to stock up on fentanyl lozenges for her - which if you don’t know are basically lollipops of fentanyl for breakthrough pain. I’m not saying I want to be in lots of pain, but if I am I want a fentanyl lolly 🍭

2020 quarantine challenge: Monday week 11 (!!!!!!! Eleven weeks?! Wtf!!!)

What is your biggest pet peeve?

In pharmacy, unmarked split boxes!! Nothing winds me up more than an unmarked split box! But in life generally, other people (can I leave it at that??) doing stupid things like littering or walking really slowly or setting bonfires on dry grassland. It turns out I’m just a very grumpy person who doesn’t like people (anyone remember one foot in the grave- I’m basically victor)

✨5/26/2020 - 5/31/2020, Week 10 of the 2020 Quarantine Challenge✨

I got a little behind because I was so exhausted after all the preparation I took in order to take the TEAs Test and...

I passed!!!! You have to score a 60 in order to pass and be considered for the nursing program and I made a 76!!! I surpassed all of the national means for each section- English and Math by 20 freaking points which literally took my breath away- and I literally bawled because I was so excited and shocked. So, please forgive me for taking a break, I was just mentally and physically exhausted.

✨Tue✨- Do you speak any other languages? Are you currently learning any?:

I speak basic Spanish thanks to Spanish l my senior year of highschool and I would really love to be able to learn how to speak it fluently! I’ll have to spend more time furthering my studies during the summer for sure. I can sing in Italian and German though- if that counts! ^^;

✨Wed✨- If you could become fluent in one language overnight, what language would you like it be?:

I would love to be fluent in French!!! It is such a difficult language to sing in and it would be such a gift to be suddenly fluent in it and French songs are just gorgeous.

✨Thu✨- What do you think is the best sounding language?:

I think I’m bias and to be honest, a little basic, but I just think that Spanish is so gorgeous. If someone would flirt with me in Spanish, I’d melt into a little puddle. 🥴❤️

✨Fri✨- What is your favorite idiom (in any language)?:

I use the idiom, “It’s like talking to a brick wall”, so often that it isn’t even funny. I just know a lot of stubborn people haha.

✨Sat✨- What is your favorite word (in any language)?:

I really adore the words, “Mi amor”. My ex used that as a pet name for me and I loved it. He’d only use it in the most sincere way when he needed to softly grasp my attention before saying “I love you” or “I care about you”. That’s why it means so much to me.

✨Sun✨- What is the most important phrase in your native language that someone should know?:

I feel like the phrase, “how are you doing?” or “how are you feeling?”, are the most important English phrases to know because checking in on others and asking how they are doing is sooo important. Acknowledging someone’s existence and that their current state of being is important enough for you to ask about is one of the most powerful thing about human existence. Feeling seen and creating that connection is just- there’s nothing like it.
