James and the Giant Peach (1996) is turning 30 years old this year on April 12th, in case you didn't know...

Because Disney otherwise has given us next to no merchandise of James and the Giant Peach that isn't somehow related to Jack Skellington's cameo, I decided to step up in time for the anniversary and make my own merch for other people.

I only have one set of keychains and pins available at the moment, but I will be doing some stickers and ordering more

IF there's demand, of course. That's obviously a big 'if', considering how small our fandom is.

And, obviously, I will also have the designs available on Redbubble. I'd rather have a Shopify story to be honest, but I sadly only have so much money to spare while unemployed. still.

A severely underrated movie imo. And he’s definitely one of my favorite parts of it!

Sure, he could be snobbish and a know-it-all at times…

But, c’mon, Simon Callow’s voice acting?? The elegance?? He plays the violin!? *chef’s kiss*

No one wants to talk about how if James and the Giant Peach was a more recent movie, you all would be thirsting over Mr. Centipede and Miss Spider for VERY different reasons.

Mr. Centipede: Ideal gross tumblr man. Smokes a cigar. Is pathetic. Probably smells like a corpse constantly.

Miss Spider: Will kill you. Is hot. Is woman. Sexy. Also her aesthetic is absolutely on point.

But Ness! All the bugs are attractive in their own right!

(And this isn't even covering how there's cannon marriages between all the bugs in the original book, and other than Centipede and Spider, the other two marriages come out of absolutely nowhere, but since they all live together it is safe to assume they're poly and putting on heteronormative masks. I'm so happy James and The Giant Peach ended how it did. Found family, no forced romance at the end, escaping abusive family, wild adventures with giant supportive bug people, it's great.

Mr. Grasshopper is a fav of mine and I'm glad he got his wish of sharing his life and music etc with his new family, the ones he loves.

So many movies mean romantic love/sexual attraction when a character talks about/wants love, but there's so many kinds and ways to love!

It's wonderful to see them all love each other in the most platonic, familial, and queerest way. You don't need a romantic partner to love and be loved & that's my favorite aspect in this whole movie.
