for absolutely no reason except that I wanted to think about it. under a cut bc it is long

ash: he was a little bit annoyed bc he thought she was like. babying him? but then he realized she just does it to everyone. with people who are shorter than her she's more likely to put an arm around their shoulders, so that happens more often in book 1. 5/10 he's mostly just accepted that living in falconreach means mira's going to hold your hand at some point

robina: her gay awakening probably happened before she met mira, but every time mira held her hand was definitely A Time. probably mira stopped bc she thought robina was uncomfortable but no, she's just gay and flustered. 10/10 mira come back -

tomix: didn't notice a lot of the time due to, y'know, the giant metal gloves covering most of his hands. when he did notice he assumed it was just A Thing People Do in greenguard, and by the time he figured out it wasn't he no longer uh. had hands to hold. (sometimes in book 3 mira forgets and reaches out and they both have to pretend that didn't happen.) 7/10 he's probably touch starved someone give this man hugs

aegis: can't really feel it, but he appreciates the sentiment! after the ice, mira can't touch him without flinching, and (subconsciously?) moves away when he gets close. he tries not to let this bother him. 8/10 he misses his weaver :(

yashta: explains that while he Also appreciates the sentiment, he's a more effective fighter if she's not holding onto him, and he'd prefer if she didn't. 3/10 she gets points for being nice

kara: takes a while to figure out that it's just Something Mira Does that doesn't have any connotations beyond "you are a person I like and trust." (she's absolutely not disappointed by this, what do you mean?) 9/10 but please explain things when you do them, mira :(

draco (whenever they figure out shapeshifting): more likely to be hoisted onto her hip or shoulders but sometimes will be asked to walk. 1/10 why is she making them walk??? she is a cruel and uncaring dragonlord and they are going to Scream

vilmor was a speaker?!

so does this mean that speakers are solely linked to great dragons (vilmor with cryozen and galanoth with the great one who is most likely genokratos) or can it be for other dragons? with cryozen dying, does that mean that vilmor is no longer a speaker as cryozen jr is too young? looks like we’ll be getting more dragonlord lore, hopefully soon! and let me see vilmor i will not stop until we see her again

at least mritha recognises that the events of the vilmor saga weren’t her fault, it was frostscythe’s, unlike certain others *glares at lestrad*

looks like we’re going to meet the great one, and i can’t wait to see their design! also, them recognising the world destroyer but not our dragon could be in reference to the reincarnation cycles of the destroyer and the saviour, as mentioned by the avatars in the malerous saga; the great one may have known the destroyer in one of their past lives, but obviously not them as they are now, so it’ll be very interesting to see how that plays out (and again, hopefully we’ll find out some more lore about the saviour and the destroyer).
