Nabi’s Lockscreen + Homescreen featuring Hidebear + Lam-sifu (real names: Hoshino Hidehiko + Lam Ching Ying - family names first here, as is East Asian tradition). Both Hide’s music band, BUCK-TICK, and Lam-sifu’s supernatural martial arts movies were big inspirations for me when I started rewriting my Soul Calibur fanfics into an original series. Mikau dude @octobernocturne also helped me set the foundation for my original adaptation, so thankyou to him as well!~ 🥰 What’s interesting is I chose to go with complimentary colours here: red and green; albeit unintentionally, it just ended up this way. 😊 (Oh, and ‘sifu’, as in Lam-sifu, is 'teacher’ in Chinese! Like the word 'sensei’ in Japanese.) It’s been a long enough day and Liz is exhausted. All day at the lab on her feet. Trying new things, trying to solve an especially irritating problem. And all the concerns about losing funding. Research funding is down and her research right now involves fetal tissue, so… It’s not looking good with the current occupant of the White House.
She sighs, struggling with the keys, finally getting the lock to turn after she pulls the doorknob toward herself. This lock has always been irritatingly tricky, but the apartment is in her price range and close to work, so she’s let it slide..
Liz returns to Roswell to investigate Rosa’s disappearance and figure out how vampires are involved. Aka, a vampire rewrite of Season 1.
comment: love me some vampire aus. especially love this season one rewrite where the pod squad’s secret is that they’re more of a vamp squad. the way molly has weaved the vamp myth through the plot is very satisfying, and it feels like it’s own story instead of just a retelling. this isn’t just a malex fic, of course. the other character are around and doing very interesting things, i especially like liz’s journey and her reaction to the vampires in this. i’d looove to see more of this. it’s so interesting which problems change and which stay the same. PLUS really like the ending.

“Fuck,” he mutters passionately, giving himself approximately thirty seconds to acknowledge how miserable he is before forcing his tactical mind and survival training to take over -- but he doesn’t have the chance. A short, wry chuckle from behind him makes Alex jump, and he twists around abruptly to find the source, his body habitually trying to find a defensive stance, even from his seated position in the dirt.
“Yeah. Fuck pretty much sums it up,” Michael Guerin drawls, his achingly familiar features drawn into a pinched scowl as he surveys their surroundings, and Alex’s heart sinks. Stranded alone in the desert is bad enough, but Michael’s presence makes it worse, despite the traitorous feeling of security and pleasure that sparks in Alex’s chest when he sees him.
For three years, Alex Manes has remained isolated, trying to keep the people he cares about safe from the monster inside of him. After being changed in the middle of a warzone, he's got more questions than answers about his condition ... but none of that matters when he wakes up stranded in the middle of the New Mexican desert with Michael Guerin, starving.
comment: i’d completely forgotten about vampire aus until addy’s story popped up, and thank god it did. the angst and turmoil is palpable from alex’s viewpoint, not only about his life (unlife?) as a vampire, but about being stuck out in the desert with no food source for miles except for michael. addy’s lays out the situation, the potential angst and consequences, with lovely, detailed prose and paragraphs that you can honestly just get lost in.
