the main argument wasn't that they're saying Chloe is homophobic, it's that there are fans who say in all seriousness that if you don't like Zoe or Bustier then you're homophobic, even if their sexualities have nothing to do with why someone would dislike them. I've seen Zoe fans specifically say that Chloe stans who don't like Zoe are homophobic for literally no reason. they were all like "omg zoe's a lesbian. if you hate her you're homophobic" and all that when the real reason for disliking Zoe is her characterization or role or how she was shoehorned in etcetc

I normally don't use the whole "If you like Character X, it's because you're a bigot!" argument. I'm aware of it, but I'm not sure if that was the writers' honest intention... though it wouldn't surprise me if it was.
