I’m just so happy that despite everything Eliott and Lucas still make me cry with joy and I’m still ready to sell everything I have for their happiness... and must admit it’s the best feeling ever
Pointless fact about me; when I first ever saw Invader Zim, I like... just did NOT GET how utterly sarcastic it was meant to be (or ironic, or satirical, or whatever you want to describe it). I was 100% ready to take it seriously, I thought I was watching a legit sci-fi action show at first, so the dark humor either went over my head or messed me. I was so upset when I thought they were just going to be baloney FOREVER! Oh, jeez, and the sad little thingy that had been experimented on so many times it didn’t even know what it was anymore that got DITCHED BY ZIM, I felt so sorry for it you have no idea. It wasn’t as if I had no grasp of sarcasm, I was older than 10 so sarcasm was my thing. I don’t know, Zim was either too subtle or not subtle enough... whatever the reason, it wasn’t until I was 13 that it finally clicked. I already loved the show, but I guess I was first interested by what it almost-was instead of what it actually-was. That also isn’t to say that I was disappointed, more like surprised, and pleasantly so once I kinda caught up to how wonderfully nonsensical it was. I don’t know if I can phrase this right, but I think my brain wanted to take the “plot” moments seriously and treat the silly moments as just little extras. The whole thing is silly, plot included, and I seriously enjoyed it. I kinda rediscovered the show when I was about 16, and at that point it wasn’t just a favorite show from when I was a kid, it was a favorite show of all time. There are some shows I see now, for both adults and kids, that have a similar vibe with their comedy... and they somehow just don’t quite push all the right buttons. I don’t mean they aren’t “smart” enough, or “stupid” enough (because some things actively try to be stupid instead of just letting the stupidity flow naturally). There is just something about Invader Zim that interested me from the beginning, and somehow aged really well as time went on.
i love how after sb fnaf kinda just spawned a whole new fandom
Random thoughts: am I not a really batman fangirl/nerd if all my knowledge of batman comes movies, cartoons, the gotham TV show, and Wikipedia. If it's not rebloged on tumblr I never really read a comic. Never really read a lot of comics. Read manga. Tons. But other than a few Archie comics. Nothing else. More of a marvel fan(my love of marvel has gone down a little). What I love from DC is batman, the wonder woman movies, and the original teen titans cartoon and that's it. Sorry but marvel is more fun for me.
The only difference between humans and animals is opposable thumbs. No I do not take criticism.
Nothing is sadder than having someone rule over your life
