Not only did he want his daughters to spend the night in jail to teach them a lesson for breaking *his* rules, even though they didn’t break any laws and he could have easily come to pick them up, he’s angry when they subverted his will and made it home on their own.

He clearly doesn’t give a shit about their safety. He needs to drop the “protective” act and just admit he’s controlling and abusive.

‘Is it just me that feels like the dad from MTFL is lowkey abusive? Like, abandoning your kids to spend the night in a jail cell, constantly pitting them against each other and giving them crazy punishments just because they keep secrets like normal teenagers goes a bit beyond just being ‘strict’ imo.’

i know people like to compare the rod and mtfl fathers but honestly, as harsh as mc’s father was in rod he was coming out of a place of love. yes, he went about it the wrong way. yes, he was definitely too harsh. but in the end, he genuinely wanted what was best for mc. like the scenes where mc would get home from school and he’d ask her how her day was, and the fact that he took time to make her breakfast every morning that he could. he wasn’t perfect, but he cared.

mtfl’s father is just straight up overwhelmingly overprotective, selfish, and a hypocrite. i mean, making your daughters stay in jail overnight and then calling it a “lesson”? demanding his daughter change her clothes? putting down of his daughters to hype up his other one, while (either conscious or unconsciously) trying to pit his daughters against each other?

no one has to agree with me but that’s just my point of view lol

Really not following the logic of MTFL Dad. "I'm going to teach my two teenage daughters a lesson by using the cops as my own personal baby-sitting service and I guess if they wind up traumatized or assaulted by a cop or someone more dangerous than a teenage girl who gets brought in, they and their not-yet-fully-developed frontal lobes brought it on themselves." Stellar. I'm saving some diamonds just to snap him in half in case the opportunity arises.
