Too much. It was just too much.

The heat was literally suffocating; Megatron’s vents struggled to effectively exchange air as Rodimus slumbered on top of him. No cool air could reach through the blanket of warmth that Rodimus threw off. It was like being trapped in a smelter, or at the very least, what he imagined being trapped in a smelter would feel like. There was no way he could recharge like this.

With what he would describe as “great regret,” he gingerly slid Rodimus, a living radiator, off his chest onto the recharge slab.

Still too hot. The oppressive heat escaping from Rodimus’s frame assailed him from the side with no reprieve.

There, thus, only remained but one viable solution.

Megatron threw himself to the floor, threw himself to the mercy of the ship’s cold metal. The smooth, unfeeling surface immediately began to leech away the terrible, terrible heat that had built up in his frame. He stretched out his limbs to maximize the contact, maximize the thermal transfer.

Just as soon as he felt recharge nearly take him away once, he heard a drowsy voice above and behind him on the recharge slab.

“Aw, I’m all cold now.”

I’m not quite sure who’s swerves gonna be shipped with, as in endgame, for the co-parent au. But I find it 10x more interesting if Rodimus and Swerve were like friends with benefits and Rodimus’ entire interaction with Megatron after finding out he’s Swerves dad is , oh primus I fragged Megatrons son, I FRAGGED MEGATRON SON!?”. Thus turns into a whole game of Rodimus acting hella weird while Megatron is getting suspicious and finally come to a head where Megatron thinks he did something really bad like a super evil prank, and he corners Rodimus about it. Rodimus thinking he’s been found out about sleeping with Swerve blurts out basically a whole spiel about how he didn’t know Swerve was Megaton’s and that it was all in good fun.

See Rodimus knows the number one thing about Carriers and Sires is that they they can be very protective over their children, and Megatron has been the biggest mother hen to Swerve Rodimus has ever seen. That’s why he’s scared, cause he knows that if Megatron ever found out his co-captain (a prime at that) was sleeping with his sparkling up until recently? He’d flip his lid. Impactor would threaten him with his harpoon if he did anything to upset Swerve sure, but then he’d probably leave it alone since they both consented to it.

Megatron? Oh he’d break the speedsters knees. He just got to reunite with his kid and he finds out Rodimus is ‘corrupting’ him with the speedsters debauchery? Ultra Magnus, Cyclonus, and Drift are all called to hold Megatron and get him to the brig till he calms down. Now Rodimus is looking over his shoulder waiting to see when the former warlord will strike. Swerve meanwhile doesn’t find out about any of this until wayyy later and has to verbally give Megatron a thrashing because “I’m a grown mech who can sleep with whoever I want and how ever I want!”. Successfully cowing Megatron.
