Whirl

At first you make him kind of uncomfortable. So soft and gentle, both in appearance and personality, yet you aren’t scared of him. You remind him of what he used to be like, what could have been, and he doesn’t know how to deal with that so at first he rejects you.

Over time though, he warms up to you as your kindness and fragility slowly breaks down his walls. He becomes protective once you’re together, keeping you by his side whenever possible, either having you perched on his shoulder or tucked inside his cockpit. He still intimidates others and causes trouble, but with you around he becomes less violent. Won’t say it out loud but he doesn’t want to risk hurting you.

He likes to rest his helm on whatever surface you’re sitting or standing on while you pet and compliment him, peppering kisses along the side of his head. Play with his antenna and he is practically purring from your affections.

Sometimes he will return your affections by gently bonking his head against you, or, if your hair is long enough, using his avatar so he can braid it for you. He likes using his avatar when you’re alone together in general; he likes how he towers over you and can pick you up at will in his regular body, but using his avatar allows him to be more tactile and gentle with you.

Once the relationship hits long term and it’s clear you really aren’t going anywhere, Whirl will surprise you with a gift, left for you to find next to your bed in the morning, in the form of a watch. It’s relatively plain in design, but you can tell it took a lot of work and craftsmanship for Whirl to make for you. It can’t be easy for someone as large as he is to make something so small and delicate, especially with his claws.

When you thank him for the gift, showing him how it looks on you, he’s quiet. Staring down at you with his single optic, his expression would be unreadable to anyone else, but you can tell by the soft glow emanating from his single eye that if he could, he’d be smiling right now.

First Aid

After working under Pharma for several years, it’s nice to have someone around who appreciates First Aid and how much work he’s put into being a medic. He’s bashful at first, not used to the affection, trying to brush it off as just doing his job. But he also wants to hear you say more nice things about him.

You act as a sounding board for him. When he thinks he’s found a new breakthrough on medical research, he talks his work through with you. Knows you don’t understand all the medical jargon, but being able to voice things out loud helps. It also doesn’t hurt that you give him endless support and encouragement.

You aren’t the only one giving out praise. First Aid is going to acknowledge your own accomplishments and skills too. Not one to lay it on thick, but he’ll let you know when you’ve done a good job on something or just tried really hard and his compliments are sincere.

After a long or stressful day he likes to hold you against his chassis, running a finger up and down your back while you tell him all the reasons you love him. Some of his past actions weigh on him. The patients he couldn’t save, what happened at Delphi, Ambulon, Pharma… needs you to help keep him grounded in the present, remind him that he’s on the right track and doing enough.

Brainstorm

The first time you call him a genius in a quiet voice, he pretends he can’t hear you. Leans down to your level, servo to his audial, asking if you could repeat that for him please? Thinks it’s super cute how your face reddens and you can’t make eye contact when he’s so close to you. When you shyly look back and call him a genius again you could swear he makes a tiny squeal of delight in response. You’re just too cute!

Would love it if you stayed with him in his lab, so he can show off his creations and watch your reaction as he explains and demonstrates what they do and how they work. Your curiosity and excitement whenever he manages to make the impossible, possible warms his spark to no end.

Will carry you on his shoulder when he can, thinks it’s adorable how you react to his PDA, face flushed and buried against his neck cables when he coos over you in front of other bots. He’s an absolute menace. A handsome, affectionate menace.

In private, Brainstorm will mass displace so he can cuddle up to you properly, faceplate nuzzling against your neck to make you laugh when it starts to tickle as he gets you to list all the things you like about him between giggles. He might also sneak his digits under your top to tickle your sides if you aren’t paying attention, making you shriek in surprise as he asks you what else you think of him, besides the fact he’s a super handsome, ultra charming genius?

You sigh and down the dreaded liquid. Feeling a bit hot and weird down your panel, you gagged, and dropped the drink. "Mal? Are you okay?" Brainstorm asked. You looked at Brainstorm, he rushed over to make sure you were okay. Your legs buckled underneath you, and Brainstorm grabbed onto you. 

You looked at him with half-lidded eyes, and smiled. "I am not okay... I feel oddly hot." You said, Brainstorm tried to check you over. He gasped and pulled back. 

"Damn it, Scatterzone." He whispers, and groans. 

"What's going on?" You asked.

Imagine Competing W/ Brainstorm For Quarks Affection But Both Getting It

~

-Quark is smart, right up there alongside Perceptor and Brainstorm, while you are simply the Lost Light’s Liaison

-the one thing that did connect you to at least one of those super brained individuals, was your intimate infatuation to Quark

-the moment you and Brainstorm realized you were both competing for the same spark, it was game on

-meanwhile, through all the gifts and weird coincidences of ending up in a locked closet with one of you, Quark is somehow completely oblivious to either of your advances

-it’s not so much an innocent obliviousness, but more of his mind has other things to be occupied with, namely science things

-it was a little disheartening at first for you and Brainstorm, thinking that the modest scientist was not interested in either, but once realizing that that is not the case, your competition between each other become even more intense to see who can get Quark to realize he’s got two dedicated admires after him

-it’s ultimately Perceptor who breaks the news to Quark; dealing with you and Brainstorms shenanigans and Quark’s cluelessness is killing him

-Quark is so bewildered by this announcement; it would certainly explain a lot

-he takes time to think things over, and with his mind made up, proceeds to search you both out which just so happens to be trapped in rope and arguing with each other about Brainstorms “love trap”

-being told that your plans to get with Quark this whole time by the bot himself, while tied to the opponent, was certainly breath stopping to wait and see who’s name he’d like to be with

-but hearing that he wants to be with the both of you?! Heart stopping!

-Quark gives a really good confession as to why he’d want to be with you both; you yourself are so unique, not for the fact that you’re human, but because of who you are as a person, and that has Quark feeling an attraction he can’t seem to pull away from, while Brainstorm is upbeat and so brilliant in such a quirky way that Quark often finds himself goofily smiling when thinking back to silly times shared with the other scientist in the lab

-it takes a bit of consideration, but you and Brainstorm are willing to try it out, because although you both had been competing for the other mechs servo, you two had been friends since before then

-during the relationship, it turns out that you and Brainstorm actually do really like each other, and Quark definitely had some hand in that, but overall it’s a pretty happy, and certainly interesting, relationship

Brainstorm is someone who, despite being extremely self absorbed for the most part, when he falls in love, he falls hard and is not very subtle about it. The moment you walk in the room he starts showing off, trying to impress you. If you are impressed by his antics, he’ll try to act cool but in reality he’s putty in your servos, twitching wings and a suppressed squeal giving him away. He thrives on praise and will be walking on air if his crush compliments him.

If he’s not trying to woo you through showing off his scientific prowess and intelligence, he’s going to be approaching you for conversation, slinging an arm around your shoulder plating if you allow it and giving you playful prods at your face and kibble here and there. He’s a big enjoyer of physical contact.

A major shortcoming of Brainstorm’s though, is while he’s fairly obvious about his attraction, he has a habit of coming across as less serious about his feelings than he actually is. He’d rather be a parody of himself and stay close to you than be genuinely earnest and risk rejection. You’ll have to be the one to ask him out and confirm his feelings are requited. He wants to know for sure that he’s wanted.

Once in a relationship he can get a bit clingy. Work is still a priority for him, of course, but in his downtime, Brainstorm is going to want to spend all his time with his love. He’s so stoked you return his feelings and he wants to make the most of the time you have together. A huge fan of PDA, he will hold servos with you whenever possible and remove his face plate to shower you with kisses until your plating flares and you fans go off. If you’re a mini bot he’s gonna be pulling you onto his lap or picking you up for hugs and smooches a lot, too. If you’re bigger than him, he’s climbing you like a tree.

While he’d think it’s super cute if you’re shy and PDA flusters you, he would also adore it if you were to return the favour. Show everyone that you want him, that you chose him. Become the mushiest couple on the Lost Light and make everyone uncomfortable with your canoodling in public.

Might try moving the relationship along faster than you’re ready for, suggesting you start sharing a hab suite within a matter of weeks. If you tell him he’s moving too fast he’ll back off, even if he complains that not being able to wake up from recharge next to you is absolute torture. He can be patient though. In the meantime, he’ll work on making a double size recharge slab so you can snuggle while you sleep instead of holding hands across the gap between two singles. It’s ready to install whenever you’re ready to move in.

Absolutely devoted. He’s still an egotistical maniac a lot of the time, but Brainstorm will do anything for his sparkmate. Truly one of the most loyal partners you could ever hope to have. You don’t even need to ask him to do things for you after a while, he becomes very good at anticipating your needs and will just. Creates gadgets to help you with things before you know you need them (of course, they all double as deadly weapons with some minor adjustments. Don’t worry about it). All he wants in return is heaps of praise and affection, and for you to listen to him as he explains his projects to you.

Angst idea: Karaoke night at Swerves bar, reader is peer presurred by friends into singing (even though they are too anxious to sing in front of crowds) and breaks down in tears on the stage and runs away crying. He’s passing by Swerve’s in the hallway when you run out the door with teary optics.

He holds you by the shoulders and begins to ask questions, which may or may not be helpful. “Are you okay? What’s wrong? Who’s chasing you?”

After you calm down enough to answer questions from him, he’ll pull you into a hug and he’ll hold you there for as long as you need.

He gives whoever was pressuring you a death glare before running after you. Even if he was minding his own business, he’ll still chase after you.

After he captures you in a hug, he tries to remember what Rung had told him about comforting people.

He gently rubs your back and is quiet for a bit before offering to buy you a drink if you go back with him. If you do, you’ll sit quietly in a corner with him and enjoy your drink.

Depending on how he feels about it, Whirl may hold your servo.

He doesn’t really realize he’s fragged up until he sees you trying to blink away coolant before you run off stage.

He doesn’t mean to corner you in a hallway or scare you while trying to catch up, but he probably does. Rodimus tries to make himself look small and talk in a softer tone while he apologizes.

After he soothes you, he gives you a hug, a kiss on the forehead and asks you what you want to do next.

Whirl would find it adorable but is also a chaotic shit and will tease you about it when you're awake

Says things like how cute you were with your squishy fleshy cheeks smushed against his plating and a line of drool trailing out of your mouth, basically anything to get you riled up

If you're just casually napping, he'll prod and poke at your sides to see how long it takes for him to wake you up

However, if it's been a rough day/time for you, Whirl won't mess with you and let you rest

In those moments he actually takes a second to admire how you hold yourself so close to him as if he were some sort of safe shield when in fact he's the complete opposite

He'll clench his claw to his side, refocusing his attention on your peaceful form and try hard to not let his negative thoughts get to him

Brainstorm:

You had to make Brainstorm promise not to do any experiments when you nap with him, which is still so so hard for him to not do

You clingy so tight, and it's so adorable, and he has so much curiosity about human sleep

While not doing any test on your sleeping form, he does takes notes to help with the scientist itch

You're breathing dictating what kind of dream you're having, the closeness of your form and it's temp as you try to soak up his frames warmth, the different types of snores emitting from your opened mouth, etc

It embarrasses you so much when he shares these findings with Perceptor, the latter not having any expressive indication but still somehow giving off that he feels for you

Having you cling to him at night when it's time to recharge is a blessing for him, always the perfect reassurance that he isn't alone when tortured by a nightmare of horrifying memories

Ravage:

It took a long time before he let you sleep with him, and even then it was him approaching you first, but now resting with you is a normal part of his life

He'll always curl around your smaller form like a protective barrier, his purrs reverberating through you and lulling you to sleep

Having you hold so tight to him makes his spark swell

He's been close to so very few that experiencing this kind of intimacy makes him realize how touch starved he is

It's rare that he'll be this close to you out in the open, but if you happen to fall asleep holding him and it's been a rough day for you, he'll let you rest and bare down hell on anyone who dares say something about his gentle display of affection

In private, he's more willing to let himself be soft and close to you 

With you curled into his side, Ravage lays his helm above yours and lightly wraps the end of his tail around one your ankles, feeling like jello when you snuggle even closer to his spark chamber

Merformer Brainstorm HC’s

(A/N: Yes! Another Merformer ask, and with one of my fav boys nonetheless!!)

-Brainstorm has a blubbery textured tail, kind of like a dolphin, but the final part is more sharp tipped, and his fins are silk like fish fins -his color is a really nice, baby blue with white accents, a grey belly/chest and arms, while his eyes are lined with elegant gold streaks -Brainstorm is also see with a yellow mask covering the lower half of his face, which was intricately carved from a special fish bone; very few have seen him without it to the point where its rumored that when he's isn’t wearing it the seas rage with the furry of Poseidon -the mer's pretty indifferent to humans, but he is however very fascinated by their tech -one of his favorite pass times is to explore sunken ships and other wrecks to see what he can salvage from those places -because of this, Brainstorm has not only gotten really good at reverse engineering human technology, but also water proofing it  -most the inventions he makes result in a new weapon, the severity of those weapons are always unclear though, but most have been noted to usually be very silly -Whirl dared him to make a weapon out of an old 18th century spoon and some raggedy tarps, and Brainstorm won after having somehow using the items and turning it a sling shot; an old not very sturdy slingshot, but definitely a nuisance tool if your medic who keeps having seashells flung at oneself -Brainstorms often seen in touristy areas at night as well, when no boats or people are around so he can search the sandy bottoms for lost phones, cameras, whatever! -the science boy isn't one to interact with humans just because, and won't go seeking conversations with them either; it's not that he hates them or anything, they just don't hold his interest like with Rodimus or Tailgate -however!! If a human catches him at the right moment and starts talking science, he's down to spend an hour or maybe even more sharing and comparing his species theories and tech with your own -if you're not savvy in the science field though, but still want to befriend him, the best thing to do is leave little gifts for him such as bolts, wires, stuff that makes making inventions possible and easy -it'll take some time, and probably a good quality waterproof camera or somethin', but soon Brainstorm will begin seeking you out on his own, splashing his tail in giddy excitement to tell you about his latest invention -human tech to Brainstorm is what seashells are to Drift!
