Mass Displacement Mayhem- Soft AU

Riptide x Reader

• Glancing at the little mech as he goes up on the tips of his peds, hands gripping the sides of the tub as he leans in front of you and bounces to try and see inside, you try not to laugh. “Is that for me?” He asks. Though he’d come jogging through your apartment the second you’d turned the water on in the tub. Checking the water temperature, you’d gone for a bit on the cool side since these guys seem to run hot. Snorting when you look down, he’s got his chin against the lip of the tub and he’s staring up at you, optics soulful.

• “Okay, okay,” you mutter, reaching for him and lifting him. Settling him in the water. “Temperature okay?” You ask him and his plating ruffles slightly as he relaxes. Because this is his element. Laying back, he lets the water swallow him and its shallower than he’d like. A tiny pool instead of an ocean. But you’d thought of him. Realized he’d like this without him having to ask. Staring up at you from under the water as you arch an eyebrow, he lazily moves his arms.

• Well, he seems happy and you’re pretty sure he can’t drown since he doesn’t actually breathe. You’re still not entirely sure what he transforms into, but he’s sharky looking so you’d guessed something water related. And he’s just lying in the bottom of the tub submerged and staring up at you. Shaking your head, you push up to your feet and his optics shutter. You’re guessing he’ll yell when he wants out. Which means you have some quiet time to yourself. Turning away, you hear an engine rev and you look back. Staring at the little boat now making loops in your tub. So that’s what he becomes.

• Do you have any idea how good it feels to let loose? The speedsters have a track, but bots like him? They have nothing unless they travel a bit. And going for a walk in bot mode outside the base seems to make the humans nervous. Aware of you lingering and watching him, he pushes himself a bit faster, sides scraping the wall of the tub. Showing off a bit. But it’s not often anyone appreciates his altmode. Just like it’s not often that water based altmodes are in high demand. Or useful.

• This just might be the cutest thing you’ve ever seen, making you think of your little cousin running around wide open and breathlessly yelling “are you watching” at you. And watching him playing, you imagine the wind tousling your hair, water misting your skin where he’s kicking it up. Maybe when he’s back to normal, you could go for a ride with him? Know that will probably never happen, but his little loops look so joyful. Want to share that feeling with him at least once.

it may have taken me two months but the giveaway art is finally here 🥳

i wanted to do as many of these as i could, a lot of people asked for TFA characters that i am not familiar with so i didn't draw them, i should just crack and watch it to avoid this problem in the future
